  1. I am actually all for rule changes. But I am talking more large sweeping changes that will simplify the game and fundamentally get it back on the right track and showcase what makes the game so great and unique. But I hate these stupid little alterations and additions that only add to the confusion. It will no doubt create other side effects, leaving us in a bigger mess than before the rule was introduced.
  2. Poor guy, especially after missing all of last year. Mature age out of the VFL, no football in over 2 years by the time he is back, it’s going to make it very hard for him.
  3. Keen to see him hopefully play in the preseason. After his highlights package, his size and athleticism, and then him taking out the time trial, I’m just wondering what the catch is.
  4. I don’t get the Isaac Smith reference either. Never seen Smith consistently take marks like that, which was the clear standout of Rosman’s highlight clips. As for his prospects, he looks good on paper but let’s see I guess.
  5. He's been putting his foot in it more and more recently, so probably a good idea to step away for a while.
  6. Thought the same thing. The action looks a bit odd, but it looks reliable for those exact reasons you mentioned.
  7. Did not see that coming. Very good appointment on the face of it. From what we saw in his last couple of roles, he seems to be one of those guys that young players love, with a good mix of the old school vs the new.
  8. He did play forward in his first year or 2 and was good. He is the master of those little kicks that find a target, and they would be more useful at half forward leading to direct shots on goal rather than slowing momentum at half back imo.
  9. I prefer him as a forward tbh, but to write him off as a ruckman at age 19, after a very good first year split between ruck/forward, is just being provocative.
  10. Any volunteers with a neat left foot who can run an 11/12 second 100m?
  11. Bush league stuff, except for the million dollar salary.
  12. Hopefully he can see out the pre season at least. Gives him a chance to follow through with plans the players would have been given before they broke up, and gives time to get a successor in for a seamless transition. It’s a very important role these days.
  13. I love the way he talks. Wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t just give out the usual boring cliches. As for on field, he is a ripper. Hopefully he comes back to preseason in great nick again.
  14. I still think his kicking is underrated. His kicking is mostly solid and I saw him deliver a couple of beautifully weighted 40/50m lace out kicks to leading forwards at Metricon against Essendon in the last game. The problem is he is still susceptible to the odd complete shank when trying to rush and be too cute. Ive said all along once he takes a little more time with the ball, he will go to another level, which he did for a period in the middle of the year. They should be making him watch that vision repeatedly this off season. And if he can find a way to hit the scoreboard more, up close to a goal a game, he would be in the top handful in the comp.
  15. Maybe a change of scene might get him going again, but he has gone downhill the last year or two. Certainly worth consideration at least. Prime Lewis Jetta (which obviously isn’t what we would be getting) would be just about the perfect compliment to our list.
  16. A little bit surprised since TMac ended up staying on. But if they wanted another key position player for depth, and it was between OMac and Brown, we made the right choice.
  17. Jackson has been at the club less than a year, with most of the season spent on the road in the hub. Let’s give him a chance to settle into some normality of life in Melbourne (fingers crossed), playing at the MCG week in week out, hopefully for a team playing finals. I’m almost certain he will extend if those things are true.
  18. This is why I’m confused by our strategy, as it stands, of trading heavily into this draft at the expense of next year’s supposed super draft. We have picks that will be pushed back, and there is little exposed form, in this draft. Next year is supposed to be a bumper crop, and add to that there is every chance of players who didn’t get a chance to showcase talent, or develop, this year slipping into calculations next year once they can play again.
  19. Phillips was the only name floated that may have suited us, but even then I’m not totally sold on him. If we take 18 and 19 to the draft I want to see 2 players with some run in them.
  20. Still not 100% sure on trading so heavily into this draft at the expense of next year’s first rounder. We can still trade picks, so I wouldn’t be totally surprised to see us make more moves, but the club does seem pretty set on going for it in the here and now.
  21. Makes me happy they had to pay a big price for him. I didn’t like the thought of them getting him for “free” as a free agent, while still having all those top 20 picks.
  22. He is always spoken about pretty positively, but never really close to breaking into the side. It could go either way for him this off season.
  23. Bit of a bummer really, because there is clearly some talent there. He just stagnated for whatever reason after showing some promise in his first 2 years. Best of luck, and as others have said, thanks for probably our best "moment" in the last 20 or so years.
  24. He did look good a year back. Well worth a look, but obviously that includes due diligence on why he got the [censored] from St Kilda in the first place.
  25. Such a weird dynamic on Demonland this year, more than any other year imo. Some sort of sad [censored] measuring contest.
