GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Forest Demon replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Win and we are 2 games and percentage clear of 3rd. -
You’ve got to love how knee jerk footy fans are with their comments! Doggies are rubbish now according to the masses. We will lose a game soon too you realise?
-
Would you take Jeremy Howe back?
Forest Demon replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, and for a few different reasons. His position is not a need. He wouldn't come dirt cheap in terms of salary. Injuries are really affecting the back end of his career. -
While all our wins have been comfortable, we haven't had a chance to really smash a side this year. I think we will get on top early and take the opportunity to really drive a team into the ground. And I'm all for it after the years of North doing exactly that to us.

That draft has completely re-invigorated our side. We went all in and traded up the order, only to nail all 3 picks.
-
It’s a raffle after the first 2 or 3! 6 - Salem 5 - Petracca 4 - Oliver 3 - Lever 2 - Jackson 1 - TMac Easily could have given votes to Tomlinson, May, Hibberd, Langdon, Gawn etc
-
First 10 minutes aside, we absolutely controlled that game. After the fumbles in the first quarter, I packed my dacks when I saw the heavy rain at the start of the 2nd, but it was completely unfounded. I’ve had too many drinks to post too much analysis, I’ll see you all in 12, actually maybe 24, hours.

Not that I want to wish away going to watch my son play footy this morning, but tonight can’t come quick enough. Can’t wait.

The footy is getting worse, but nothing could be as loud as the one Big Bash game I went to...never again. The music was ridiculously loud, the fake chants were embarrassing and the fire thrower things were so bloody hot considering it was the middle of summer.
-
I get it, and as I said, it’s a pity Jones didn’t make it an easy decision. He’s been serviceable so far this year, but today was absolutely sub standard. But I still don’t think they will drop him.
-
Jonesy hasn’t made it easy for selectors unfortunately. However, there is no way he will be dropped imo.
-
We weren’t great, but the effort was always there, and allowed us to stay square before eventually bursting away. You can’t play well every week, and we clearly have another level to go, both form those playing, as well as those yet to come back into the side.
-
I thought it was on Kayo too, bummer
-
Hawthorn will give an honest account of themselves. Whether we put them away as we should or come out flat will tell us a lot about whether we have improved our mindset or not. I’m pretty confident we will handle this comfortably.
-
I’m not a fan of discrediting the doggies, or us for that matter, based on who they have played. For starters, that West Cost game at Marvel was an epic played at a great standard.

What is going on with Victory? They are a shell of the powerhouse they once were. 6 nil and 7 nil thumpings in 2 derbies this year!!!

Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’d play Melksham deeper forward, with Sparrow back into the 22. -
Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand

I’m not advocating for Daw, but isn’t he lightning quick? Won the grand final sprint in an absolute canter one year didn’t he? -
You little pisser. Great news.
-
I said it in the post game thread, but I thought there was 0% chance we would see him back to his 2017 form again. The dash is back and his disposal has been tidier this year, he is a real weapon if this form keeps up.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Forest Demon replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ah man, that sucks, fingers crossed it weeks rather than months, but it did look a nasty one. All the best Maysie, he is playing some amazing footy these last 18 months. -
6 - Lever 5 - Gawn 4 - Oliver 3 - Petracca 2 - Langdon 1 - Salem
-
Tough job this week. Special mention for Oliver, who was tagged but completely blew that tag to pieces which is a very promising sign,
-
The argument that we haven’t beaten anyone decent is a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy this early in the season. If Freo finish this game off, you can take up all our opposition’s games, remove the games against us, and they have won 7 and lost 5.

Jayden Hunt back to his best, which was all the way back in 2017, didn’t think I’d see it to be honest.
