  1. Now I have heard it all. Grimes is copping it for racking up too much of the ball to boost his SuperCoach points hahaha. It would be so much better if he went into his shell and had 10-15 touches a game. That will do me, he can't win.
  2. If he can get a clean run with injury, improve his tank, he will be a staple in our side for many years. Has a bit of toe, a good long kick, and a bit of mongrel. Great defensive pressure in our forward line. He and Garlett would be a formidable duo up there I reckon.
  3. He had a couple of great performances in the NAB Cup, a couple of decent performances early on in the season, and was terrible in the second half of the year. I still think he can be an ok player for us for the next couple of years, but must be better than this year. Hopefully the surgeries help.
  4. Good luck to all the 4 delisted players. From my knowledge, all gave it a good crack. And a no from me to rookie list Fitzy, would have Juice Newton written all over it.
  5. This emailing Paul Roos trend is ridiculous
  6. Played on worse
  7. My opinion is he is on the table, if we can fetch something decent, such as a 2nd rounder, he is traded. If not, and depending how the list looks after trade period, he re-signs.
  8. Big offer is surely to push him through to the PSD. If anyone wants to match it, got for it, but they won't. Hopefully Melksham is disillusioned enough with Essendon that he doesn't care if they get nothing for him.
  9. I wouldn't say he is a great kick, in that he won't thread a needle from 40m, but he is a smart kick who always puts the ball to advantage. Many examples of him kicking long to space to Garlett, or to the advantage of a big guy. He slowed down after the knock he got up in the NT, but before that was absolutely killing it.
  10. This is an interesting one. Had a rough year but that could lower his price in terms of trade. Certainly adds some speed that we desperately need.
  11. I would take him, but two very obvious things make me nervous about this move: 1. WADA - if he cops a 2 year ban that would be a disastrous pick up, surely the club are all over this, but who knows 2. Trade Value - if we are offering him a 4 year deal, Essendon are well within their right to ask for our second rounder if we rate him that highly, and knowing Essendon, they will probably want more to begin with
  12. Well [censored], that couldn't have worked out much worse could it. I didn't factor the Tasmanian connection into it.
  13. Doesn't seem to have coped with the pressure that comes with being an AFL footballer and a high draft pick. And because of that his confidence and composure has always looked shot. There is still a part of me that thinks something in Jimmy's head might just click, and you get the feeling if he starts to play well, believe in himself, he could just feed off that confidence and get better and better. But the clock is ticking.
  14. Absolutely love this bloke. I thought he was a lot more inconsistent this year, even in the earlier part of the year. Perhaps a combination of heavy opposition attention and a neck injury from carrying 21 other footballers week in, week out, for the last few years. Hopefully back to his absolute best, which I think was last season, and if he can do that in a side that is winning at least 10 games for the year, I reckon he will give AA a shake. Hopefully anyway.
  15. I consider myself a pretty measured guy, but this joker makes me irrationally angry. Even if I tune into a neutral game he makes me want to throw my remote through the TV, so it isn't just MFC related. He really has to go.
  16. Last year, even when he wasn't getting a lot of it, his defensive pressure was first rate. I remember him hunting down defenders and laying some big crunching tackles. This year it was almost non-existent. And put that on top of the fact he couldn't take a mark to save himself, he was next to useless.
  17. I think I recall this happening in the past? Even included polls I think.
  18. I genuinely think there should be a Supporters Player of the Year awarded officially by the club. I know we are mostly dills but it happens in English football, and as noted above, I reckon the player would get a big kick out of receiving something official based on love from the supporters.
  19. That makes more sense to what I was thinking. I thought every player got a score from 10 from 4 vote givers, which would mean even an ordinary game might rack you up 15 points. But the fact you will get zilch for a poor/average game makes more sense.
  20. Congrats to Bernie, I think he deserved the win, but delighted to see Viney poll so well. Between Top 5 finishes, Clubman of the Year and Leadership Awards, this kid is going to have a fair collection of club awards by the time he finishes. Let's hope he adds a premiership medal or two to go with them.
  21. It seems a silly system to me. Just by playing an extra couple of games, you are immediately a much better chance of winning. They should ditch your lowest scoring 3 to 5 games or something to give others that missed a couple a chance.
  22. If there are 10 judges I reckon it will be a draw.
  23. Aaron Hall would make a bit of sense. As I have said before, I think he is a touch untidy, but he is as quick and line breaky as they come. Fills a serious need for us, I hope he is on the radar.
  24. Gold Coast finished where? 3rd last? Giving them a high pick in the PSD. Hopefully, Gold Coast don't play hard ball, offer unders, and try to get him through the PSD if we don't accept. That is what I would be doing if I were them anyway. And there is no way Carlton or Brisbane will match 650k a year, and even if they did, I don't think Howe would be too devastated.
  25. Everytime I watched Cripps he was absolutely dominant, definitely not "dime a dozen". His stats compared to the other great midfielders of the last 10-15 years are very flattering. But I also get the Hogan love, and what he has done is pretty remarkable. I loved his consistency, there was only one game this year where he really had an off day, and that was against the wooden spooners. I wouldn't mind which way it went to be honest.
