  1. If they can do it, it shows really good outside the box, big picture thinking. No single trade is made in isolation, they have all been building towards a plan.
  2. Love the #loophole at the end. Here is my tip. We give them 10 and all our picks in 40s and 50s (3 of them I think there is) They give us 7 and Bugg We use pick 3 and 7, and just upgrade rookies with later picks. We obviously win. They win because they get loads of points. AFL can't complain because Bugg's presence in the trade means we get around the rule about the differential in points when trading picks.
  3. Getting very interesting if true. Assuming Bugg + 7 for 10 + something????? And that is why we have continually said Bugg will happen last?
  4. GWS trading out of this year's top 10 is a bit of a bummer. One less player to choose from at pick 10.
  5. Ummmmmm...that is clearly incorrect
  6. His date.
  7. I think pick 3 looks like Parish. I wonder who will be in our sights at pick 10?
  8. I like it. Makes finishing higher next season even more important now. Imagine if we finished last and meant we were coughing up pick 1, but obviously, hopefully, that won't happen.
  9. Oh yeah, I like the sound of this
  10. From memory, I think Burgoyne cost a couple of first rounders, which is significant. I think the rest were relatively cheap. And all of that list joined when those clubs were already near the top. I don't think we can afford to trade away our future at this stage of our progress.
  11. Our "A Grader" needs to be developed from within. Poaching one would come at a huge cost both salary cap and draft pick wise, and compromise our future. We need to develop at least a couple of our young group into top 20-25 players in the comp over the next year or two. Genuine question, but is there a premiership team in the last 10 years who has built a team around a big price recruit, like a Judd? I can't think of any.
  12. Pick 50 for Bugg is a good trade if that is how it goes. Somehow, I just get the feeling 29 will be involved in the Bugg deal.
  13. Brett Anderson needs to look at it this way. Nobody cares about the stupid points unless you have a father/son or academy player.
  14. Ooh, that doesn't look good. I see Kennedy and Toumpas of very similar value. Meaning picks 29 and 50 for Howe, which is pretty disastrous.
  15. Of course, but at least it is more enticing and elaborate than just picking up a bunch of delisted duds.
  16. AngryAtCasey started trade week naming various delisted spuds, but he/she has blossomed in front of our very eyes.
  17. Everything was known a week or two before trade period. We need a Mitfh Clark style spanner thrown in to spice it up.
  18. I can't see Gold Coast being interest in downgrading 3 to 6 in a trade only involving Seedsman. They will rightfully say we want Howe, and if we can't have him, you can forget pick 3.
  19. I thought players could go into the national draft if they wished, just like Luke Ball did when he wanted to get to Collingwood, rather than go into the PSD. Is this no longer a thing?
  20. I saw a 10 second clip of Curnow doing the kicking test, and by no means would I pass complete judgement on a player based on such a small sample, but his kicking on his left was terrible.
  21. I'm not sure what people expect. You can't offer a player a 4 year deal and then all of a sudden when it comes to the trade table act like you are only mildly interested, and offer up your 3rd or 4th round pick. As soon as the 4 year deal was reported, it was obvious it was a going to be our 2nd rounder, maybe with a shuffle of later picks, which can be used for Kennedy and/or Bugg.
  22. 168 pages down the gurgler. Time to kill it.
  23. Did I hear he hasn't nominated a club? If so, that is a big positive for us if we can play the interested clubs off against each other. Hopefully he gets to the Gold Coast, they have the most to offer.
  24. Definitely a bargain, but would have been a far greater bargain had they got him for free. In the end, I think it is a mature trade, made on the first day of trade period, so hats off to both Geelong and Adelaide.
  25. Casboult could gain a bit of interest because his strengths are so obvious and appealing. Obviously his weaknesses are also glaring. I would not be surprised if Carlton net something decent from trading him, but I just can't see Roos and co going for someone like him.
