  1. Yep was going to post the same thing. Is he out of contract at years end? I am not keen on parting with our 2nd round pick (prob pick 18/19) or our priority pick if we get one (pick 17) though.
  2. dont feel bad, as I said, love the enthusiasm...keep it up
  3. MELBOURNE MANIAC...I love your enthusiasm...however...ease up on the threads...this is like the fifth one you have started in the last 24 hours. On the clash jumper...I hope it is never seen again
  4. That is very promising from Juice. I think his accuracy will improve with more games...and 11 one percenters and 6 tackles is excellent, and if he can produce this next week he is every chance. Very promising from Grimes as well considering it was his first game in however long. Im sure they will be cautious in terms of rushing him back. All the youngsters seem to be comin along nicely with the exception of Meesen and Weetra
  5. Was probably fox sport's cpverage, but was broadcast on Ch. 7 up here in Brisbane.
  6. Straight after the game on Ch. 7, he admitted to being quite emotional. Was very good to see. He has admitted he hasnt been around the club much since retirement, but certainly seems to be in love with the club as much as ever this year!
  7. I question whether he would want a return, but if he did his time at Melbourne is done. We have no need for him anymore. He will be 29 next year, and there arent too many, if any, 29+ year old players I would trade for or pick up in the PSD. If he wanted out of Brisbane, just would prove he is still as mentally weak as he always was with us.
  8. Been watchin TFS for a couple of weeks up here now. Certainly is a lot better than watchin the league tripe. Wat day is footy classified on? If only now the other channels could broadcast dees games when a Lions or Swans game is on both free to air and foxtel...but that is wishful thinking
  9. terrible news...but important he is 100% for next season. Just shows how corageous he was to try and get back out there on Sunday. Will definitely give more game time to a few youngsters which isnt a bad thing.
  10. I also thought he did well...although some of his disposals were a bit rushed and led to a few mistakes, but his work around the stoppages was again good.
  11. I almost fell off my chair this morning when i sat down to read the courier mail and there was a whole article as well as a large portion of another article dedicated to how umpiring cost them the match. Bradshaw's out on the full that should of been a point was there main gripe, but there was no mention that they had the rub of the green all day. It stated there was no way they should have lost the game being up by 8pts in the last term...IMO we dominated yesterday and would have iced the game a lot earlier if not for umpiring.
  12. I dont take a hell of a lot of notice of the best players listed some media outlets. IMO I wouldnt have had White in any best players list at all this year. I think the Demonland player of the year votes would show others also agree (may be wrong). His ruckwork is ineffectual and he is having less and less impact around the ground. Jamar gives us a strong presence in the ruck, but we also know he gives absolutley nothing around the ground. I am happy for Bails to look to the future, but Jamar is not where it is at. Doesnt really phase me who of the 2 he selected.
  13. Im not sure what game you were watching Nudge. We were disgusting for three quarters, and if Brisbane had of kicked straight and taken their chances, we would of been down by 100 points. I left that game in total shock as to how bad we actually were. But in saying that, we are looking more competitive week in week out lately, and I think we go into most games a chance.
  14. I rare Dal Santo highly. Saying he would want out becuase of this is obviously a bit premature, but if he was available I think he would be a great acquisition. Would complement our midfield nicely and a good age aswell IMO. Although, I find it hard to part with any draft picks around the top 25
  15. In the last couple of years he has played a handfull of really good games amongst some pretty poor performances, and I think most of us expected him to start stringing more of the good performances together as he gained experience, but this year he has completely lost confidence and looks terribly out of his depth. I think there are others on the list who are dead wood more so than Bell, and I think he will stay, but he needs to start turning it around, and really should be back at Sandy next week. Reward CJs form with a game.
  16. Was a very committed effort today. A lot of hard running and tackling, but as has been mentioned in the past we are pants with our kick ins. 1) A lot of the time someone would look to take a quick one and decide against it and by the time Wheatley got there, who was upfield, he was called to play on nearly as soon as he got there and was forced to rush his kick 2) The huddle can work well if everyone breaks with speed. Nearly every kick in, our huddle was slow to form and everyone would spread one way very slowly, not allowing themselves to get free. We need to clean up this basic of the game, cost us at least a couple goals, and along with inaccurate kicking probably cost us the game. But in saying that I was extremely proud of the performance today.
  17. I am 100% on the Jaka Top 150 bandwagon being driven by YM I think it is a tough task to put together such a list and there will always be differing opinions, and it is my opinion that he should of been in there
  18. With lists like this there are always going to be differing opinions, and I think they have done a good job, BUT In my opinion Travis Johnstone gave nothing to this club...had the talent to one of the best, and while having some good games should not be anywhere near this list with his lack of dedication and inconsistency.
  19. Yep, that second 'a' will get ya
  20. More like what are you on.... This is the stupidest thread I have ever read on here. Sad that I just wasted a minute of my life reading it and then another minute posting
  21. I think clash jumpers are definitely neccessary. There are a couple of times a year (mainly Adelaide) where it is hard to decipher between teams (I know I am not the only one who has this problem) and I dont see the problem in wearing a clash jumper in these matches... BUT 1) In no way, shape or form should that silver tripe ever be seen again. It is absolutely disgusting. A reversing of ther colours or something a bit closer to the traditional jumper should do the trick. AND 2) I watched the game at midnight last night on my TV in my room (Yes thats right, that is when it was broadcast up here in QLD) and I could honestly not tell the difference between them. Admittedly I have only a smallish telly in my room but coming in and out of the light and shade I found it impossible to watch and switched off and went back to bed (nothing to do with scoreline If you are going to design a clash jumper surely the idea would be to waer it to AVOID a clash.
  22. I think there is some sort of minimum games requirement or something like that. And that surely would be the only reason he would not be included. Granted he didnt do it for long, but when he was playing, he was unreal. In my time (90's onward) he would definitely be in the top 5 best players I have seen play for the MFC, but I would imagine there would be a large bulk of those named will come from the premiership teams from way back. The only certainties from my time would be Neita, Lyon and Stynes off the top of my head.
  23. Nah Kryton, only for Friday night games have I noticed they use the Main Event channel. I cant believe this is happening again. This is 3 out of the last 4 games, unbelievable!!!!!!!
  24. I'm happy to be proven wrong on Garland and Warnock as both have shown promise in the last 3 weeks. Our young key defenders all of a sudden are showing something and I hope they can keep it up. As I had to listen the to the game on radio up here in Brisbane, Frawley didnt seem to get much of a mention and he only had a few possessions, so Im assuming he didnt have a great game. Could someone fill me in on who he played on and how he went?
