  1. I agree with everything right up until this. They aren't laughable, there are obvious problems with his past months form. Personally I dont think he should be dropped but there is a very good case for it. Weiderman and Pederson have provided more in their recent games than Hogan. Yet 1 of the others will miss out to make way for him. It's hard call for such a talent but dropping Jeffy got an quick response as with dropping Bugg and even Kennedy worked the first time. Maybe the same would happen if you dropped Hogan. Nobody is saying he isnt a future star but a little reminder of what is required may not be the worst thing.
  2. They might need that 4th rounder to get Cloke. All part of their 2017 premiership plan
  3. Shocking, yet somehow none of us are shocked.
  4. Without meaning to sound too negative... If I was another club I would take an inexperianced Melbourne 100 times before taking North who have a proven finals record. Look at what happened to Richmond the year they came charging home, I will always take a finals loss over missing out but I would be astounded if we were any more than just competitive in a final.
  5. Didn't you hear? they are playing finals next year! Gotta top up with Cloke. After this years form their window is clearly opening.
  6. Yeah the stands make it a bit of an outlier, I think its gonna be a nice little stadium when its finished. But assuming it was intact, it would still be at the G or at *shudders* Etihad to fit larger crowds. I am divided as to whether it is right or wrong. But it would be nice to play them at the G for once.
  7. Nothing would hype the media up more than us having a bigger percentage coming into round 23. Funnily enough the way Sydney is playing at the moment there's every chance we will have the percentage advantage before the Carlton game even starts.
  8. Just out of curiosity. If geelong finishes 5th and plays us or north melbourne, should it be at Simmonds or at the G?
  9. Confidence and Chemistry. More we build of this the better we will get. Coaches say our contested ball is high and thats good but as we get better at this we wont need it to be so high because 1 or 2 hard ball gets will result in us moving forward in space rather than the 4 or 5 attempts we need right now. Its been clear for some time that we have the right game plan and alot of the right players to move us into finals contention. Some more puzzle peices and continued work from the current kids we will get to a top 4 spot in the next few years. Albeit with some more disappointments along the way.
  10. While i dont agree with the "not ready" crap surely if we arn't going to play finals I'd rather 2 wins and North to beat GWS...
  11. If I was the Gold Coast I would let them keep pick 6 and ask for Deledio and next years pick first round... Odds on it will be in the top 4. And since Richmond think they are going to in finals they will happily do it.
  12. Is it a poor year or a poor month? He hasnt kicked a goal in a month and is only 5 goals off equaling last years goal tally. So he was on track to passing his tally with a month to run then he seemingly fell off the cliff after injuring himself in the St Kilda game. Tom Lynch is the "best young forward" and his career started 5 years ago! Hogan is streets ahead of where here was at this point. I wouldn't panic.
  13. Lost to Sydney and West Coast a few years back but havent played teams of note since. Their wins have been: 2013 Port (7th) 2014 St K (18th) Adel (10th) 2015 Rich (5th) WC (2nd) St K (14th) 2016 Melb (9th) Rich (13th) Only 1 top 4 team and that was WC who has an incapaility to win away from perth (except this weekend apparently) http://afltables.com/afl/teams/kangaroos/allgames_vn.html#40
  14. Wet: BenKen Dry: JKH (if enough match fitness, he was out a very long time) Could even consider Salem, move Harmes back forward and Salem into the role Harmes as been in recently
  15. While I still dont think we can make it if through alot of luck we did... I would love Jackson to come out and calmly say "See we told you, finals 2016, all part of the plan"
  16. I suspect over his career these are the 3 stats that will really matter. Yes he will kick ~40 goals a year but I think he will be played up the ground as a powerful link up forward. His tank is huge of a man of his size.
  17. By far my favourite. I mentioned it last week. 1964, 1998 then 2016. Not territory we frequent often.
  18. I cant get access to the footage to confirm this but someone else might. Was I correct in noticing that his shorter set shot miss he didnt have his normal stutter? I could have sworn he didnt stutter in for that one.
  19. M Jones repacing someone due to that persons poor kicking, I never thought I'd see that day That aside I don't mind those changes assuming you're right about Salem not being ready. But at the same time I doubt Harmes will be dropped.
  20. haha no not at all, they all were grumpy, pouty and making excuses but there wasnt really anyone so much as raising their voice let alone violence after the game last year.
  21. Riewoldt a fair argument possibly but he is undoubtedly passionate about his football... not sure that kills culture. Rance does alot on his own. Beats anyone who he comes up against. If he wasnt the lone man in defence he would be even better. They would never trade them anyway was just saying they are ones I'd like in.
  22. Just Imagine FF: Garlett Riewoldt Weiderman HF: Kent Hogan Watts That would be a forwardline to fear. Mobile talls to stretch any defence and 2 smalls with genuine speed. Watts is capable of playing as a Vanders-like medium forward rather than a genuine tall. Hullet, Vanders and Pedo as depth. Trac/Kent rotating off the back of the square It's nice to dream
  23. I hear that Rance guy goes alright. But after him and maybe Riewoldt I think you're right
  24. I would say we have struggled against ones that are all about uncontested run. Saints and Port tend to struggle against strong contested sides in an arm wrestle yet against us they dont have a problem. They get on the outside and kill us with spread. The tall forwards I say are a problem when they are contested marking and we cant stop them. But the 3 times we have played these 2 so far it has been uncontested marking that has been the problem, not like its been an arm wrestle and their key forwards have been outmarking us, their key forwards just had silver service.
  25. Gah that game against North I was fuming when we had the wind at our backs in the last down by a couple of goals and Dunn had the ball just holding it up, couldnt be blamed for thinking he thought we were infront his ball movement was that slow. Small rant aside I love the message coming from the coaches. Fearless football is why we won on Saturday. Going into the last looking to win it not to avoid losing.
