  1. 7 senior games in 2 years is semi-regular?
  2. 76 just went to Brisbane didnt it?
  3. I would agree with that. If we had kept 29 then I would have been inclined to say A but we have done ok. All things considered
  4. I noticed that too. Delisting imminent?
  5. 2 days ago I would have agreed with you but I think now the Hibbard and Lewis deals are in, unless we can get an overwhelimgly good deal we should secure all our picks next year leaving us in a strong position to draft or trade next year with a full list of 2017 and 18 draft picks
  6. I can deal with soft players particularly if they are outside mids or medium/small forwards but Tippett is a mountain and is just not hard enough. That said, the above comment was mostly in jest I wouldn't hate having him in but, I just dont think he is worth the cost
  7. At coles spuds are at ~$3.50/kg and Tippett is 104kg. So $364 seems like a fair deal.
  8. If we keep pick 29 I'd like to see us use it on a kid with a massive tank who can play on a wing (we still only have stretch). I'd suffer the ruck/fwd deficency for 2017 and then look to trade one in next year as we aim for the 2018 top 4. If we pick a kid fwd/ruck he might take 3-5 years to be AFL ready
  9. Possibly, it might help but who? Tis is the order as it sits around us. 27. Richmond 28. Collingwood 29. Melbourne 30. Port Adelaide 31. GWS Richmond, Collingwood and Port all have no intention of drading away from this years draft if anything they want to trade up the draft and the new pick count rules messes with our chances to trade with the Giants for points
  10. Oh its very clearly a fair deal as an isolated player for pick. But as a whole our trade period would look much better with Hibberd, Lewis, 29 and 57 than with Hibberd, Lewis and 57. But when push comes to shove an established player is better than a 29 lottery ticket. With over 24 hours left I would say we still have time to negotiate
  11. They struggled to play finals before they were all suspended. And while some will get right back into it easily but some will probably take some time to get back to AFL level. I would think they have a chance in 2018 but not 2017
  12. Im not even sure this is possible but would we be able to offer a future 2nd round and a future 4th round? gives them 2 picks (because we should improve and 1 isnt enough) still allows us to keep this years pick. follow up would people even want to do that?
  13. haha yeah and this morning he also said the Bombers will play finals next year
  14. I Like your confidence. I read the exact same thing and cant help think we will be blinking first.
  15. Top Notch Nutshelling of how things didn't really happen
  16. Yeah i Agree he isnt in our "best" team but i suspect he will be in our first team. As much as we want to play finals next year it is still a development year. I think they will aim to slot him in with everyone else to fast track him into a regular player, similar to OMac. Ideally he will play games early have a few rests throughout the year then depending on how he has gone we make a call late as to whether to play him leading into finals or play Pedo.
  17. FB: Frost - TMac - Jetta HB: Hibb - OMac - Hunt C: Stretch - Jones - Salem HF: CP5 - Hogan - Kent FF: Gartlett - Weid - Watts F: Gawn - Viney - Tyson I: Oliver, Lewis, Brayshaw, Vince E: Vanders, Pederson, Melksham Next tier: Harmes, Bugg, BenKen, Wagner, Lumumba, ANB, Garland Watch this space could be surprise inclusions: J Smith, JKH Our best 22 looks so much better but that next tier shows our depth is there but still a little questionable
  18. You would think so he is contracted and the pies need him more than we need to get rid of him. But i guess his time in VFL takes most of that power off us.
  19. The AFL has made one change to its bidding system that will come into immediate effect this year, with clubs no longer able to access 'hidden picks' during the draft. It means clubs will only be able to enter the draft with the number of selections that matches the available primary list positions at that time. Last year some clubs entered the draft with more picks than they had available spots on their list. The extra picks were purely held so they could pay for academy prospects that attracted early bids. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-22/draft-loophole-to-remain-despite-some-clubs-concern
  20. Best 22 100% Plays on a wing so doesnt compete with Tyson for a spot. Stretch has relatively little competition for his spot given our lack of outside run.
  21. No. 3: Thou shalt believe everything thy reads online
  22. We are a still a few years behind but we definitely have one of the best placed lists to impact the potential GWS dynasty
  23. Concerns me so much what we are going to be paying. Mitchell was essentially 88 because all parties agreed. With Hawthorns backtracking we have lost a lot of bargaining power and I worry what we will give up for an ageing star. I do want him in, but just want us to be cautious.
  24. Break it down to each club's perspective. Switched Rockliff with Hanley since he is apparently going to the suns so that makes more sense for this deal: Melbourne: IN: Lewis, 24 OUT: Dunn, 28, 48 GC: IN: Rockliff Hanley, 2017 Haw 1st, 23 (form Freo) OUT: O'Meara, 24 Brisbane: IN: Dunn, 28, OUT: Hanley Hawthorn: IN: O'Meara OUT: 2017 1st, Lewis, 23 Brisbane is a horrible loser in that deal. I like the thought and its not too far off but. Somewhere you would need to find more for Brisbane to agree to that.
  25. I wouldnt say that until we see how they go next year. I, like most, hope this is the start of a long fall from grace for the Hawks but I dont want to gloat before it actually happens.
