Thank God I was sitting down for that

That was an exciting 60 minutes for us! Now we can go back to patiently waiting.

I cant tell if you are undervaluing Rockliff or severely overvaluing Dunn but there is no way in hell that would happen. Dunn has next to no value as an old Defender who cant play modern zone footy, Rockliff is an All Australian midfielder (despite playing in a [censored] team) and a club captain. People have to realise you have to pay closer to the value of the player to the club he is leaving than the value to the club he is moving to. Rockliff is worth far more to Brisbane than he is to us. Thats why Hawthorn so frquently pays overs for the players they want. If Melbourne wanted Rockliff they would have to pay well overs to get him.
-
Apparently they checked for AFL approval before making the move. But they could have asked for anything and the AFL would have said yes
-
They were out of contract when they were rookied. This would be the equivilant of rookieing Garland now despite him having contract time to run. Patfull has "retired" so they could break his contract and redaft him as the rookie.
-
Does Patfull count as one that have ditched? Given they have torn up his contract and plan to put him on the rookie list. Which my understanding was that this as completely against rules but you know... The AFL lets them do as they please.

If Hawthorn get Mitchell & O'Meara then ...
ArtificialWisdom replied to Cranky Franky's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems they dont cop the "scattergun" tag as much as they should -
Have we ever heard a better trade period interview? No spinning horse [censored].
-
Rumour is they want to get pick 5 from Carlton for Marchbank and on-trade 3 and 5 to the Dons for pick #1 Not sure the dons want that but 2 top 5 picks vs pick 1 its a hell of a choice.
-
I believe the rules have changed for this year. You can only bring the same number of picks to the draft a spots you have on the list. Thus there is no more bulking up on late picks.
-
Trade Period Day 2: We haven't got a trade through yet and the world is coming to an end.
-
I would think so and like I said I wouldnt chase too hard but I think he would make us better and he could play a good role for us. So if the option is there I would be interested, at the very least.
-
From the trade talk feed: I like him, still wouldnt chase too hard but if that 2017 pick for Hib gets done he might be an option to look at. Can play in and outside, 15 goals from 20 games, we need some a goal kicking mids. Tyson is they only mid who seems to pop up and kick goals with any regularity.
-
I suspect that if they wanted to trade pick 28 then they they would just give it for Hibberd. I would think they are offering a future pick because they have a couple of draftees around the 25-35 mark they have their eye on and want to bring in. And besides Tuohy is a good player but given our HB stocks he isnt really worth chasing too hard.
-
If you wouldnt do it then thats what we want. We need hawthorn to have some mistakes and backfires on the trade table then finally we might get a change in the current balance of power
-
We are looking for a Ruck/Forward not a pure ruckman. Will would be just swapping Footscray for Casey why would he?

2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba

Cant get over this. I love Hunt becasue he is young exciting and brave but what he does is exactly what H does... He runs hard and uses his speed to disrupt the opponent zone. Even if his disposal is dodgy it is the run and carry that they are after. If H draws 1 or 2 defenders out of the zone then he has done his job and its then up to the forwards to win the ball wherever he kicks it. Look at JJ in the grand final, his disposal was atrocious and he still won the Norm Smith because of his disruptive run. -
Jesse Hogan re-signs to end of Season 2019
ArtificialWisdom replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I just assumed he had heard 62 so much in the last few weeks cos of the dogs -
I think he is being cryptic because he thinks it's fair but he knows the bombers will be the bombers and demand pick 23 or 24 just to make it difficult.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
ArtificialWisdom replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
My dream: Barrett will anounce (again) that Hogan is being traded for 2 first round picks. And the whole footy world will laugh hysterically at him when Melbourne and Hogan announces he is staying on a 4 year extention XD. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
ArtificialWisdom replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I feel like since this speculation has started hogan has "signed" about 40 different contracts. I've never heard the media swing so much from going to staying on a player before. We usually hear a solid he is going or he is staying (regardless of their correctness) but with Hogan I think every media personality has at least once said both. Its just bizzare. Ralph will probably announce that he is going again next week. And without a doubt regardless of what happens half the media personalities will be like "see I told you so!"
