  1. No love for The Mighty Ducks? The White Sox have got on quite a role after quite a start. Perhaps it shows the benefit of not heaping a mountain of pressure onto yourselves.
  2. The wife and I enjoyed Luke Darcy's description of our gameplan on Saturday night whereby it seemed that Neeld's gameplan was to "just be close at quarter time." Perhaps this is why today he had another go at Neeld for not being over the moon in his postmatch conference - the Dees were within 3 points at 1/4 time and he should've celebrated his new successful gameplan. I agree with RPFC, for a change. The players are spreading with greater speed from contests that we have been winning. I don't think this is a change of game plan at all, merely the players playing with a little more confidence.
  3. Of the Saints 20 regular season wins in 2009, only 3 of them had them kicking between 8-12 goals. One of those was round 1 in a comfortable win, one of them in a very low scoring game against us and one against Hawthorn in Tassie. You're right about finals. They kicked, 12, 9 and 9 goals. In 2010, of their 16 regular season wins 5 of them they scored 12 or less goals. Tellingly, in all of their losses (except one) over the two years, they kicked less than 12 goals. I suppose that's often the case, if sides are unable to score they are in trouble. St Kilda played a dour game style in general, but you couldn' deny them when they had the footy and they could often score nearly at will. My issue with a purely defensive gamestyle is that often in game you are in control of, you can remain only a few goals ahead with the other team in touching distance. Great, premiership sides are built on defense, but you need to be able to score and have a system in place that allows you to do that. As the players are becoming more confident, attacked the hard ball, speading into space better and moving the ball in uncontested spaces we're seeing that we have more attacking options. This will only continue to grow as, I hope, our defensive work begins to show the reward for effort that the backmen have put in. I truly believe it starts in the middle. Let those guys get the footy or at least breakeven and the tide will turn quicker than many expect IMO.
  4. Stick to tipping JB The Keeper League idea simply must stay - for the fact that that was what was already in place and that's how people have been playing the game. I like the idea that you have some longevity with players and the competition as a whole. It certainly wouldn't be fair to change the rules after the tactics some players have adopted IMO.
  5. Are you saying that the Dees actually beat both the top teams this weekend?
  6. I was watching in the Bullring as I supersticiously believed that we were better off with us down below. My moment came late, very late. When we desperately forced that final ball up and I saw the time left on the clock I knew it was over. I think I went sprinting out and down the stairs towards the race screaming "yes!" An amazing roar when the siren went, singing the song with so many others around. What a feeling. What a win.
  7. I'd love to hear how/why you think the Crows would've agreed to a Col/Davey trade for Dangerfield.
  8. Gysberts is the one I'd like to see playing at some level out of the non-test players. Is Jack Viney out for the same 2-4 does anyone know?
  9. We've won the last two against them!
  10. There's rumours that Dawes wants out of the Wreckers...
  11. It's obviously, obviously, not her account.
  12. He only hates that it was shown on the telly. Perhaps he should aim his barbs at the tv crew for picking it up. It's ridiculous to think that all players who don't play don't share in a joke during the good or bad times.
  13. Unbelievable to see the response from the City fans. 92 minutes gone they were nearly universally heartbroken. Within minutes they'd be experiencing the greatest high of their sports-supporting life. Unreal.
  14. They score their 3rd with their 43rd and win it with 90 seconds left!
  15. Man City score with their 42nd shot! 2-2 with 3 minutes to play!
  16. The nerves!!! QPR down to ten for half an hour have somehow hit the lead. 2-1 up after 86. Man City 31 shot at goal, QPR 3. Arsenal lead 3-2 look set for Champs League, Bolton seem set to go down.
  17. Surprised that no one has commented. Spurs score in the first 90 seconds. Could've been more, could've been less but that's the lead at half time. Arsenal score in 4 minutes. WBA score after 11 and 15 minutes only for Santos to level it after half an hour. All square at H-T. As it stands, Spurs into CL automatically. Long way to go however. Newcastle 2-0 down. Man City 1-0 up as are Man U at half time. Not watching the City game, but they've had 8 shots to 1 and 80% of the possession.
  18. By all accounts, Watts is one of the quickest at the club. Smarts with the ball is also one of the last things I'd question when discussing Watts.
  19. From what I've seen of Yarran, he essentially seems to play the defensive sweeper role. The same defensive role that Watts was canned for playing only recently. He's certainly a whipping boy, young Watts, and he'll have to work very hard to shift that mantle.
  20. West Sydney up by 3. At the moment we're bottom.
  21. Thanks rpfc. Did Geelong really go at 81%?
  22. What in the world did you see wrong with Grimes' game yesterday?
  23. Maybe I'm just not too good at reading these situations, but I don't think Mclardy reads very well in this at all. He's also seemingly lost in all commentary about the situation.
  24. Deserved to be dropped IMO. Good ins. Clark and Frawley for Watts and Macdonald is a plus. Dunn lucky IMO.
