Why do people continue to believe that there are "mind games" going on between coaches? I get that people want to believe that this is the next best thing to AFL coaching, but honestly, are you really going to not pick you best players because the opposition coach says he thinks he may lose?

In terms of the MFC-MCC supporter conversation, I always find it funny how people "bash" MCC members who support the Dees. Pretty consistently, the MCC is quite full - often with MFC fans as was the case yesterday. If Melbourne has 23,000 supporters in the MCC, then I'd say about half of them attend most weeks. If Melbourne has approximately 160,000 other supporters, I'd say about 10% of those attend most weeks. Note: this is only my personal opinion and may be skewed because I sit within the MCC. Someone who sits in the Southern stand may have a better view.

So, let me get this straight, prayer rooms are already in place at three AFL stadiums, including our own. There is a request to extend that to other interstate grounds. People have a whinge about the cost, of which I doubt they have any idea of a figure and to further highlight that I doubt that they knew that such rooms already existed at the MCG, Etihad or ANZ Stadium. Honestly, what a non "issue."

Was on a beach in Phuket at that exact moment. New wife and I evacuated up a hill, waited for 3 hours with no phone, money, passports or anything. Bit of a panic but hopefully all ok now...

Thanks Bonkers. It seems very strange to me that he would be sacked for issuing a warning about where the league may be headed. If true, his warning should very well be taken on board by all and sundry - especially from those within the AFL. To simply get rid of him in a seeming show of "solidarity," because the AFL is very wary of attracting criticism, it seems to me they are taking the easy way out. Perhaps he's made it up and claimed that he would no longer take full-blooded aboriginal players - which is even more bizarre than the alternative scenario.

Maybe it's my illness-riddled, wedding-planning head - but I don't see a quote of what he actually said there.

Does anyone have an actual link to what was said? I'm interested to see whether (or how much) of a beat up this is.
