  1. perhaps that's the point, the same supporters who berate the club for this decision are most likely the same supporters who stop attending after round 3.
  2. haha, well 3 are premiership players and one is a brownlow medalist, so despite their age surely they'd have taken us all the way...
  3. it bewilders me how fans complain that a traded player then wins a premiership. Port Adelaide could not have one without Bishop? Then surely if we kept him we would have won Sydney could not have won without Jolly? Damn, guess CAC missed that one and that's why we lost 7 in a row. West Coast wouldn't have made it without Armstrong? Well shoot me dead Teams win premierships, not players. If a player doesn't fit the coaches mould for what he wants to do with a team then he is traded, if that player then joins a premiership winning team, then good luck to him, he becomes part of a very small minority, not reflective of bad list management
  4. yeah i read that article, but i also don't really trust the herald sun's reporting, nor the motives behind it. of course there will be 'backlash' when such a talent is traded, but surely the positive thinking outweighs it. maybe it's my personal opinion getting in the way, but i really can't see how someone could be angry about this decision
  5. But to trade CJ for a third round pick, you're essentially trading someone we know to have promise but has not yet delivered, for someone who has been regarded by clubs taking picks before him to not have exceedingly high promise who has not yet delivered. given johnson's age i don't see any harm in one more year, especially under a new coach
  6. I don't listen to the radio and as such may have missed a lot of this, but why do people keep saying that heaps of melbourne supporters are annoyed and angry, and that they should get over it? from what i've seen on the boards that is the consensus, that we thought he had fantastic skills and great awareness but ultimately would not take us to where we needed to go. is much of the anger being shown on talkback?
  7. i'm pretty sure hawthorn rate williams more than you guys are letting on..
  8. so that win over carlton cost us travis for nothing
  9. we do talk about other teams, just their supporters are saying little at the moment. i really like everton, love their passion and the way they play. with the injuries now i really even top 5 will be an issue, as i can't see anyone replacing the big four at the top end and i think to have a good shot you need to be starting your run very early. i still can't write liverpool off for a top two finish, but i must say though it kills me, arsenal are looking the goods this year. so dangerous to watch!
  10. his mentality at the moment is very similar to that of the team. more concerned about maintaining a clean sheet rather than concentrating on each performance and effort - reflected by our inability to maintain a lead.
  11. can't buy a win we can't! was looking for odds on torres to score before the match, but couldn't find any. the guy is amazing. it would've eased the pain i honestly think we looked really good, surely our luck will start to turn
  12. why would the crows want to lose two ruckmen for picks 43 and 53?
  13. Why is Michael Voss listed as retired this year?
  14. massive night tonight in the context of spurs' credentials. surely we have to win if we are to consider ourselves top 4 material, we cannot continue to lose against the 'big four' time and again, especially at the lane. come on you spurs!
  15. oh you've got to be joking, that's horrible news. god i love that bloke. but yeah, doesn't surprise me to hear that he seemed glum, he always has his head firmly on his shoulders. just please have a fit '08 wheels!!
  16. How long has this guy got as the head of the AFL? Does anybody know how long his contract lasts? The guy is now beyond a joke. The way he ignores fans opinions on the draft system to new rule interpretations, not to mention his stance and sanctioning of players with drugs. I'm sick of him and would like to see some new direction and a new figurehead.
  17. i wasn't overly impressed with his yze-esque performance from the boundary line, the wrong boundary mind you. i must say the charge looked bad at first. had to laugh at him trying to claim the 50 though, ha! if a player gets suspended in vfl it counts for afl, so i imagine it works the other way round.
  18. davey magik, still reckon chelsea are much chop?
  19. spurs fair rubbished a good chance out of that one. i tell ya, fernando torres is an absolute nutter! the kid can play
