  1. nathan brown, the man whose attitude typifies the way our team SHOULD play and probably lifted those around him, cost us the game and not a 2 goal to EIGHT first quarter? wow
  2. wow, woey again. all i can say is that when he was at collingwood i sat with pies fans on quite a few occassions, and the amount of frustration he caused them at least made me smile. loved him, but we got the best service out of him and then ended up with a player who is showing promise years after the deal and also showing that he will offer far more in the future. the fact he won a brownlow should not enter into the dicussion because he won it whilst we had him, traded him afterwards and then he did little. it was a clever move, though one which was undoubtedly upsetting to many people.
  3. i'm as gutted as anyone, but if you look bigger picture, there's no point in statements like '17 points up 5 minutes to play.' don't forget it was only 11 with 4 minutes to play in a game that saw 37 goals, hardly game over. further, i doubt many people looked at the 05 dogs game and thought anything far past us winning. perhaps a little sympathy, but not much more. it is truly heartbreaking, but don't forget essendon's luck in close games last year compared with this year. i honestly think that when luck is against you, it really is. obviously there are physical aspects of why we lost, but i guess footy sucks sometimes... think i'm just trying to cheer myself up though
  4. just curious, did you think all of this at the time these selections were being made?
  5. always had good dealings with saints fans, good bunch. thanks mate, makes it a slightly bit easier to take
  6. 1. farmer, thompson, jackovich 2. bruce, judd, bruce 3. neitz, brock, daniher and whelan
  7. what is it with the freo-melb lovefest? danners will probably go to freo and connoly to the dees, and then i will have to join benno
  8. you could have gotten in a car with a future dangerous criminal in it without knowing it. it's not like didak would have known the guy would murder someone. unless there are more details we don't know about, which is possible, i doubt anything will happen to him
  9. just saw a press conference on it on the footy show, didak sat there and said nothing, odd that he was even there. but they don't seem to be questioning his playing career, apparently it was the night of QB, so unrelated to the shooting anyway, and i doubt there wasa curfew as it was berfore the break, so i can't really see why it would jeopardise his career
  10. imagine the backlash if we get to the end of this 'process,' find our coach, and he then declines it. it seems we are actively looking for a replacement coach (which is fine) rather than having them apply to us, but are we sure the person we think is perfect for the job after the 'process' will take it?
  11. no word on wheels? does that mean he'll pop in this week? also seems odd that neitz would have a test for his finger injury, either it's a smoke screen or it's a decent bloody finger injury, the man is a machine for crying out loud
  12. given the ever-nearing event that david neitz will depart, and the emergence of mclean, jones and co., would it thus be safe to say that the club should trade most heavily for pav or reiwoldt? if so, what types of players would these clubs want? i couldnt imagine st kilda needing a bruce type, but could see the dockers being interested in him (if his skills improve). saints also might not be interested in tj, given he's a dal santo twin and even brad green offers nothing they don't already have IMO. from a quick glance i'd have to say a trade with freo would seem more likely given the players we're discussing
  13. 3 johnsons? don't think you can recruit mid-year
  14. i don't think michael voss would find it hard to get respect from players, especially those that saw him first hand. but i do agree that coaches need some level of seperation, and perhaps it is too soon after his playing days to effectively step into not just the position of coach, but the role as well.
  15. i suppose if you have a priority pick and wish to trade it for a top class player, you'd be in a position to trade the no. 1 or 2 pick anyway
  16. ND won't float him, but Hird will!
  17. yeah i see your point, i just don't beleve neitz has been given a cushie ride by daniher or that his future would be uncertain if a new coach came in as you earlier put it

  19. glad to see jonesy up there! i taught him all he knows down at mt eliza would've given him all the votes just for that work on the members wing, brushed off two tackles then pulled off his trademark spin, the kick was shocking but honestly i didn't care. it's my only highlight of the game
  20. i meant people saying they won't bother next week, weeks to come etc. it is times like this that our most passionate supporters stay tough, because if we don't the average dees 'snow bunny' has no chance, and our standing in the media and the football world will deteriorate even further. i personally don't leave early, but can udnerstand why people do, and it's fair enough if you feel let down by what the players provide for you, but if you don't go every week through whatever, you miss wins like the crows game, or the tigers, blues in 97
  21. wow, the fickle supporter tag does permeate into these boards, i didn't think anyone here wasn't passionate enough to attend for the sake of supporting the boys, even if it hurts to watch
  22. his 6-years-to-the-junior captain who has spent 3 years playing under the leadership mould of cameron bruce and co.?
