    The game

alistair lynch is so the guy from blokesworld. a bit astonished. it's just like it's not even the same team. this time last year, if neitz had half the half chances he's had today he'd have at least 4. when you're s-14 you're 3-14 and the rub of the green just doesn't go your way. i just hope neita pulls something, would hate to watch us lose to the pies by 100 points in neita's 300th

    The game

i've been saying it for weeks/years, fox commentary is terrible. always seems to be anti-melbourne, then again when you play like this what can you say for melbourne? this is horrible to watch, though i still reckon better than kangas or port games
  5. connolly and grgic.....draft picks
  6. Tigers at 11 dollars!!! wow cats 1.02! surely cats under 39.5 is probably blown out too
  7. larve it! nice one brother! [censored]....beer?
  8. Headline should read: Sheedy Declines Dees Job Doesn't want to associate with people who talk with Connoly Kevin Sheedy has decided against applying for the coaching position at the Melbourne Football club, citing disinterest after the club decided to contact Chris Connoly for the position. When quizzed further on his decision, Sheedy claimed that the Demons process was 'worse than martians throwing marshmellows at my head.' His decision has badly damaged the Dees search for a new coach, but it didn't seem to phase Mr. Sheedy. 'Look, you make your bed, you lie in it' was all he could convey to the MFC.
  9. if we picked up those players, i'd be bloody happy!
  10. scott thompson is still in red and blue, just with yellow as well, makes me want to vomit
  11. melbourne to win by over 60, or melbourne to score over 60? wow, that'd be some crazy money!
  12. hrmm, now green doesn't think they're having a crack http://melbournefc.com.au/Season2007/News/...px?newsId=48470 can't understand what his role in the media really is, apart from simply exposure
  13. isn't yze on veterans list? ha, holland on a lot, what would make you think that?
  14. sylvia! sylvia! petterd, mclean, bartram, rivers, bate, dunn, buckley, johnson, newton, JONES, a midfield with some run and grunt back in, hopefully a fit and injury-free preseason for skipper to see him back to his best. fit bruce and davey, not to mention robbo, green SEEING WHEELS BACK our great club's 150th year anniversary, a new home, a new coach, a top two-three pick in the draft if you're not excited i don't think you're much of a true supporter. i can understand uneasiness and uncertainty after this year, but surely everyone should be at least a little excited about seeing our batch of youngsters improve under the mould of another coach in such a big year for our club.
  15. i'd love to have sheedy as coach if the process in place concludes that he is the best man for the job, and sheedy himself wants to coach us. i'm not going to bribe the club into hiring someone
  16. bell was on the angry pills all game, and the one time it looked like he'd get really fired up, he backed down. i was more perplexed/intrgued by this than anything else, i don't think it reveals much. though i'd prefer a few demons guys around bell just to show unity
  17. easiest 70 bucks i'll ever make, if i put 700 on the swans but hey, we're 100% on that hell of a ground
  18. my gf totally sat next to him on friday night. i don't have any issue with anything he says here, unlike the time we won our first game in round 10 before he proclaimed we'd play finals. but this shows leadership, a player amongst a team with so little confidence proclaiming it to be a positive that we only have a 6-day break. i heard riley speaking of the positives of playing so many away games at the end of the year, so perhaps his philosophy has rubbed off on green. a good positive attitude, the base to build confidence. the thing that possibly makes me the saddest about this year is watching the players go around with such little confidence, the same melbourne team that can dominate an opposition still putting in, but not having the confidence to really drill them. but we'll get through it, and thinking like this will help on those massive summer runs and weigths sessions, and that mindset will breed a sea of confidence in the team and a positive springboard for next year
  19. streching it is right i feel gutted watching white. he's still been very good, but from visualization holland looked to have more of an influence in the ruck. i'd say he was close in centre clearances won when compared to white. newton looks to be getting better and better, jones as a bloody hard nut, macca can't keep it up forever, unfortunately!
  20. jones moloney and mcdonald get the ball, they go in hard and put their bodies on the line. i dont know whats up with mclean and i dont pretend to. bruce will learn nothing from 5 weeks playing amid a bunch of guys that dont seem to be trying, so why not let him add another string to his bow? why not teach him another aspect to his game that would be invaluable if we push for a top 4 position next year? but of course you'll whinge over how dropping bruce is a joke rah rah without seeing he bigger picture. hey, maybe mclean should be dropped for confidence and maybe to learn about the red and blue again, but you must see this isn't a bruce vs. mclean debate. he kicked a goal, i never said he didn't, he got the ball (given to him) i didn't say he didn't, what i want to see is him add to his game for the first time in 3 years and learn to put his body in, because i reckon that would help our team immenselly. but of course bruce supporters will whinge and complaing and say that this same bruce model should run around until the rest of his days, part of an inept melbourne leadership group
  21. i watched the game with the brilliant foxtel active function 'audio' option. all i can say is, wow, when the commentators shut up, your head can relax and you can actually take in the game, it's fantastic. i just hope that it somehow gets registered and they get figures about how many people do the same. grybas' barracking in the last quarter was a joke, but then again, so is his commentary week-in week-out. you guys should do the same
  22. Actor turned footballer....apparently! Demons scorched by electric Power "Chad Cornes starred for Port with six goals, while Brett Ebert also bagged six – including four in the last quarter - and Shaun Burgoyne four. Brad Green, Matthew Bate, Matthew Newton and Russell Robertson scored two goals each for the Demons, but in further bad news for the club, Robertson appeared to get hurt and played little part in the second half." Why is this happening more and more?
  23. bruce - drop to vfl, to make him see what playing for the club is all about, and teach him to learn how to get the hard ball. all bruce people just whinge about how he's not an 'in-and-under' player, yet then complain when other players show flaws, how about teach bruce how to overcome this short coming, send him to a vfl ground where the ball is often in the middle of a contest and show him how to get it. if he still can't get it, i dont see anything wrong with getting rid of him because we won't win a premiership without guys that get the ball
  24. I'd love to have Sheedy! It would also make for a very festive occasion, both he and the MFC can celebrate their 150th birthday's together
