  1. Good call she devil - it is an awesome walk, really builds the atmosphere and shows off the city. Also the opening of AAMI park, so should be even more electricity.
  2. He got 11 touches against the Dogs last time we played them.
  3. I doubt we'll miss his 11 disposals.
  4. Come on Spurs. Horror memories of that game against West Ham flooding back!
  5. Since '64 they've won one premiership. Eddie Mcguire has been massive for Collingwood. There is a different mindset at that club, and amongst supporters.
  6. Of course people like winners, it's human nature. Whilst the success side has been hard for them, it's been relatively easy being a Pies fan. So many people that kids grow up with them, so many more going to games, I think it builds on itself. I for one couldn't give a toss if people say we have the most fickle supporters. I know that going for Melbourne is one of the toughest, but enjoyable, tags I can wear and I also know that we have some of the most hardcore, feral, dedicated, loyal fans in the league.
  7. Is this the 4th year he's spent on our list? We probably know everything there is to know about him except for how he goes in the big time. I'd certainly give him a run - tell him he'll have a few games to show his wares. By that stage Cale should be back and we may have extra options. I've been impressed with him when I've seen and think he deserves a run.
  8. WYL, my post was not in refering to yours. And of course every club has "fickle" supporters. Every sport does. Every walk of life probably does - people may only be interested in visiting art galleries when their favourite painter's work is on display just as casual fans may only enjoy going when the team's having a win. It's not my cup of tea, but makes sense. Brett, perhaps they're saying new for this season? I know with the "dob in a demon" campaign last year, my partner was sold a 3-game membership (though perhaps that was just for a special once off). My point is that I don't think we were copying anyone, there's a fair chance that clubs like us would prefer to release these sorts of memberships late on in the campaign to encourage any unsigned (uncertain) members to jump on at the last minute for not as big of a financial input. Early on we'd obviously prefer people chipping in extra for the full membership. I'd be less likely to pay the full amount as we're now about 1/3 of the way through the season. We've also had the three game "field of women" (I think it's called) membership for a few weeks now.
  9. We had them last season.
  10. The Melbourne Football Club is officially flying - today breaking its all-time membership record on the back of two wooden spoons two months before the cut-off date. March 30: 27,128 27,595 (+467) April 6: 28,174 28,099 (-75) April 13: 28,601 29,055(+454) April 20: 29,035 29, 861 (+826) April 21: 30,000 April 27: 29,815 30,301 (+486) April 29: 30,000 31,200 (+1,200) May 4: 30,275 31,529 (+1,254) Wow! May 11: 30,479 May 18: 30,630 May 25: 30,855 June 1: 31,000 June 8: 31,094 June 15: 31,294 July 1 (finale): 31,508
  11. You lied to me, Rogue!
  12. I see what you mean, but I think Bails could do with the laugh!
  13. Jaycee I propose you go to training and ask Bailey if he thinks Grimes is going against team orders and is on the path to getting drop if he continues his 'illdiscipline.' And Hoopla...what?
  14. Not that it changes a great deal but frees against are counted as clangers aren't they?
  15. There's no reason to think Jetta is ahead of Bennell, Maric doesn't seem too likely to come in and Aussie will need to build a lot of fitness up before he'll be promoted. Cheney, Strauss, Bail, Mckenzie and Jurrah all play different positions to Bennell.
  16. You do realise only one person suggested it don't you?
  17. Funnily enough, that 19 goal belting I wouldn't have as our worst performance. The game against the Saints at the Dome in '08 was putrid. 78 points I think in round 10. Most games at AAMI but especially Round 21 of 2008. Round 22 against the Tiges was disgusting. The Cats were just "on" that night and our boys had no answers. The others were games that, I felt, we should've played much, much better in. There's probably a few others that I've forgotten.
  18. Some would argue we already did - 2006.
  19. Worst as in margin or worst as in performance? In terms of margin, 2008 Round 19 against Geelong at the G - 116 points. 53-0 at 1/4 time, 79-9 at 1/2 time, 124-18 at 3/4 time.
  20. To answer your question, I direct you to my response to the suggestion in the "Grimes is wasted" thread.
  21. List management, as WYL put it, equals tanking.
  22. Well, first off, Grimes needs to be dropped. Playing horribly. Secondly, who would you have put in there yesterday?
  23. Robert Walls, Andy Maher, Michael Christian etc. are all terrible, terrible commentators - but you don't preface that by saying "Male commentators." Agree with E25, thread title should be changed. Underwood is absolutely putrid as a commentator.
  24. Grimes? Casey? Grimes? Jack Grimes? Number 16...for Melbourne? Casey? Oh...my...Grimes! That settles it. Casey? Are you serious? Grimes? Grimes...to Casey? Wow. Just. Wow
