Not that anyone will care to check... B)
  2. If it's a point, the field umpire signals all clear with one hand. If it's a goal, the field umpire signals all clear with two. Not sure how much power you can say that goal umpires have except to judge if the ball goes through the sticks - and on occasion if it's touched on the line. Mickrocks will be able to shed some light on all of this.
  3. 62-19, Scorps seem to be all over it. Morton with a goal from 50. Aussie off with what the commentators are saying is a shoulder problem?
  4. 6. Scully 5. Trengove 4. Warnock 3. Mckenzie 2. Bruce 1. Grimes Apologies to Bennell, Bate and Jones.
  5. Whilst I agree there's some (future) quality to come in, their draft picks mean nothing now that they're on the list.
  6. We've outplayed 5 of the 7 teams we've played and we love the G. Grimes will be dominate.
  7. His last few touches were his worst, give it a few game and he'll never do that again - that is amazing!
  8. Been saying it for years but I'll keep doing it until it becomes myth - the dees fans are as loud, passionate and ferral as any supporter base and we love our club.
  9. The group with GWS will have Collingwood and Sydney I reckon.
  10. IMO development of players has been one major drawback at the MFC for a long time.
  11. Moving Grimes to the midfield is hardly groundbreaking and you'd do well to find people vehemently arguing against it. The main response that this thread has generated is laughter at the thought of dropping him.
  12. Sylvia's first 9 games of footy, statistically, make for interesting reading. I suggest you look them up in light of that post, probably Grimes' first game also.
  13. It's a tough one, especially with our injuries. I thought during the week that I'd like to see Hughes come in. From what I've seen he looks a likely type who has battled away on the rookie list for a number of years and could potentially be a dangerous forward. I think he suits the way we play, adding to a mobile forwardline. Without Jurrah we lack a key marking focal point (arguably Sylvia can play this role) but I think having Bate, Green, Bennell and Sylvia roaming the forwardline with a mobile player like Hughes could be difficult to stop considering the fast pace we like to play with through the middle. I worry that a tall such as Johnson or Newton or Miller would restrict our forwardline and allow the Doggies to springboard with lightening speed. Give Hughes a few weeks to see what he has and by that stage Morton should be ready to come in and we will hopefully have another forward option.
  14. If I didn't think my opinion is right it wouldn't really be my opinion then would it? I'm always happy to hear counter-evidence and my opinions are often swayed by those who present good arguments - especially on here. I have stated why I don't think he is a viable forward and why I think the poll should be taken with a grain of salt, you have not countered it. You're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. Reminds me of what KS said today.
  15. So you see that he is coming to second to a guy who has not only never player forward for the Melbourne Football Club...he's never played senior football before! You see he's beating a guy who many on here want delisted by one vote and another guy who has played 3 games and is clearly not yet ready by 2 and you think it would be beneficial for us to play him forward why? Suggesting he should be made an emergency is redundant, but the key point you made was that "bringing in johnson might do this because of his height. he has been known to kick goals." I simply don't believe this to be true, and think the poll pretty much proves that (not that I pay too much attention to polls on D'land).
  16. Did you notice that he's coming second to a guy who isn't even on our Senior list? What does that tell you about his aspirations as a forward?
  17. Sure did. His one goal for the night that I'm reasonably confident was our 3rd of the night in the last quarter.
  18. PJ has kicked 17 goals in 61 games. He has kicked more than one goal in a game...once. In that match, he kicked 2. He has not been known to kick goals and height does not equal marking ability. A few on here need to realise that point. Bringing in a tall will not mean that we will be able to bomb it long and the tall will mark it, especially with Morris and Lake in the backline.
  19. IMO these rumours mean close to, if not exactly, nothing. Especially approaching Round 7. As speculation however I'd be interested in Gray, seems to be amongst it the few times I've watched the "Power" play.
  20. Unbelievable! I'm probably biassed and only just finished watching the game but I thought we really deserved it on the night. Great effort from the boys, Harry is amazing!
  21. The club can only do well out of this. It is a great cause and a great initiative. I understand where people are coming from in regards to the jumper - but I think our hand is already forced on the matter so often that it is a positive that we can get publicity (as well as raising awareness for Breast Cancer research) on our own terms. As an aside, I actually mentioned this to a mate a few weeks ago and we thought it sounded like it'd be a good move. Good on us for going for it I reckon and as Deestroy All says, it's still the mighty Demons out there on Friday night and we still have a big game to win on our MCG.
