How the New Recruits are Tracking
I think ANB would be playing Harmes role by now, but Harmes just went to such a high level, he is an automatic selection. very under valued given he shuts down a big name often as well as being constructive with the ball. With Tyson gone he will still have a chance.

Weids ready to grab opportunity with both hands
I thought our play in the second quarter was simply superb. and didn't kick a goal !! possible our best 'general play' quarter for the year.

Injury List - Season 2019
very positive report. hope its on the mark. I noticed Melksham was very restricted during the finals with his hamstring. he was still in such good form for us. amazing really. I think hes more important the Petracca on our forward line so hope we get him right. the other is Viney. amazes me he was in rehab due to his foot, then played finals then back to rehab. Doesn't that suggest we were rolling the dice a bit?. we need to get him right and if you ever going to rest him its now.

ANB: Lever building to something "scary"
sorry but that backline was all at sea in the preliminary final, both aerially and when we turned it over in the midfeild they strolled into goals. strolled. No way is it the envy of other teams without Lever ad May.

Players of note 2019
im very interested to see what Baker can produce for us. He was tracking nicely until injury curtailed his season, getting good numbers for Casey and should be pushing for his first game this year. We need someone with pace to break through. The most mouth watering prospect is May and then Lever to join what could be an elite backline by the end of the year. and if Weids becomes consistent, we should be very strong aerially. it certainly helped the weagles.

VFL Curtain Raisers Return to G in 2019
agree ch 7 is nauseating and MMM is in turn actual vomit. they have turned placement ads into the commentary into a disgraceful artform. "good tackle by McDonald, a contender for the 'insert product' tackle of the day right there. as we look as the 'insert product' scoreboard.

VFL Curtain Raisers Return to G in 2019
yes the minimum 35-45 min gap reaks of general pre-game chatter and a hundred ads pumped at you.

his recruiting whilst not great wasn't too bad. nothing like the Pendergrast years

THE 2018 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Yes if Petty comes good where will we play him ?? he will be behind May and Lever for quite a while. and Oscar as well. Might be a case of team balance like the Hogan trade and trade him out for a quality player who can sure up a weakness.

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
are they realy that good at drafting in the last 5 or so years? or was it more 10 years ago. They just keep bringing in other teams developed players. Who is their young talent coming through?. I thought Sicily and perhaps Burton could be A grade. not sure there is much else. and they gave up Burton to again bringing in someone else's talent, Wingard. not sure they are the recruiters to be listening to.

Jason Taylor Resume
Interesting listening to him that we aimed for midfielders as we shored up some areas with Kolodjashnij preuss and May coming in. I think that’s what he was most happy about. Does make you think why Tyson was let go. I still think we need one or two midfielders to come though. I ama bit less excited by this crop of draftees for some reason, just on gut feel but his strike rate is so good. If he was at GWS they would have a premiership now.

Welcome to Demonland: Kade Chandler
Sounds like Charlie Spargo Mark II

Andrew Brayshaw
absolutely, even moreso if they have a poor year and don't look like improving.

Jayden Hunt
I find Hunt an intriguing one on our list. With our readiness to turnover the list and let Tyson and hogan go I’m sure they thought long and hard about Hunt. I say i find this one intriguing because outside of pace his skill and footy IQ are towards the bottom end of our list. Also is he improving his skill set ? . He is quick but not agile ( opposite to a Jetta ). He reminds me of a 60s footballer, straight at it long kicker with little finesse. I wonder if he is dedicated snough. No evidence but I wonder. I have greater hope for say a Stretch who seems to be so professional. So so that’s why I’m intrigued as the footy dept have strong faith in him and you have to back them in as they are developing extremely well. If they can get his game sense up a level and his confidence up we would have a weapon and I would think one of our best achievements. If we can do it.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Sums up footy journalism perfectly. All talk bugger all substance.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Exactly. We lost big time.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Interesting. He seems introverted to me. Not the comfortable in the spotlight. Bit like dusty martin. When he accepts it he might go to another level.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
excellent work !!!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
May seems hungry for footy. wants to play in his first Friday night game, play finals. Hogan seems hungry to get home to his mates.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Why do people rate Mahoney ? Lost the lever deal badly and we just got screwed. Massively. Ridiculous. You alway pay overs to extract a player. Except from the dees. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible waste. So Neale gets more for Freo ?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Sorry but I will spew with that deal. We paid more for hogan as a 17 year old.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
This deal can’t be last minute. If they stall till tonight I say we screw them. We want to get May and perhaps another runner. Can’t do all that with little time.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I agree with some of what you wrote but assuming he wouldnt make a great key back is based on nothing. Roos mentioned last week he thought Jesse would be just that. He was all Australian CHB in the under 18s. When hes gone back in periods he has looked natural to me and willing to defend. I think he Could be better than may as he has twice the ability. And a bigger tank. How would you rate jack reiwoldt at 23 ? I thought he was the biggest drama queen and gave up when it all got too hard. He found a way with experience but probably moreso with personal maturity and now he does what’s best for the team.
