  1. Had a mate talking to Buckley recently and he (Buckley) predicted Howe will be All Australian this year. prefect third man up type intercept defensive puncher.
  2. I watched Todds entire career with the Dees and Jack is definitely a better kick, perhaps with a little less penetration.
  3. that is a superb improvement. running into a stationary player with your head should never be free, but they are given.
  4. makes snese as our strength is getting hands on it first but we need to get better at finding space. Lewis is a good link man in heavy traffic.
  5. So we are paying memberships that are used to pay out a guy who is ok to play ? no way should he get an injury settlement if he is deemed ok to play. if he decides to renege on his part of the contract then that's too bad. only Melbourne F C lose out on this one.
  6. like how the AFL cleared Essendon players who didn't tell ASADA about some of the injections ?
  7. I want a clear rule, if you cover it up and avoid drug testing, the maximum penalty applies. I can't see any other way to govern this. so if a Dees player does that, then bang they have to go.
  8. i think we have one A grade in defence and its Jetta. Tom mac a B grader due to kicking, then we are still really developing.
  9. but if they fail a second time on his watch, its a mistake of monumental proportions.
  10. good to have goals, but he isn't ready to play 15 games IMO. build him up through Casey till hes knocking the door down.
  11. How on earth can Sydney put 5 years into this guy who becomes a gun inside midefielder, then not get a top pick in return. I cannot believe how lucky Hawthorn go at topping up their list. They just never seem to have to develop their own like other clubs.
  12. Yes I just found he was wanting a bit. no big probs, but he has a long way to go. I saw Tom Boyd is last years VFL finals and thought he was poor, almost invisible. things can change.
  13. a long way off being a lock for round 1. he needs to develop more core strength and a tank. His finish to the year was a bit underwhelming, but understandable. another pre season and year at Casey where he only get promoted when in good form is the way to develop him. The good thing is he had a full year of development, which he hadn't been getting. let him develop more without too much pressure.
  14. is it just me that has concerns with Weideman?. I thought both his last two finals games were poor. yes he is slight and will get pushed around, but i haven't seen much to excite me so far. He takes the occasional grab but is there much else to him? The hawks game was good but his two subsequent games were quite poor. I know its early days, but I think he will need to improve considerably next year to become a key forward. Happy for another year at casey to develop as top teams would, but he doesn't appear to get the ball enough for me. thoughts ?
  15. disgraceful along with the incredible amounts of ads and cross promotion. Gill was racing through them like he was on speed. ridiculous pace.
  16. to be fair Roos has been very aggressive with youth no doubt. if it was a coach fighting for his job, 1 or 2 of Grimes, Garland and Dunn would be playing in our backline. He was willing to forego that and play everyone and still got 10 wins. Because of this we unearthed Hunt, OMac and Wagner who was excellent for a short period. The whole backline (which was our only strength not long ago) needed revamping to go up the ladder, and if Goodwin gets Hibberd he can add Salem, Lumumba (perhaps) and hibberd to Hunt, Jetta and Tom McDonald. Then all of a sudden we look stronger down back. Yes he played Weideman ahead of others and it failed for the last 2 games but he got a fair bit right as well. Next year if we can sure up that backline we should be playing finals with a developing hard midfield and potent forward line.
  17. It started Saturday afternoon.
  18. absolutely. Having both Hibberd and Salem in our backline would make a significant change, more deadly by foot and both hard at the contest.
  19. Roos has done the opposite, being very bold this year with the youngest side most weeks. We've had 4 picks in the top 10 last two years. we could have traded in more senior players for those picks if we chose a faster route (Richmond style).
  20. disagree. we were 50/50 to win that, just like how we took the points against Gold coast. The real travesty is the Weagles game, when the umpires right royally stuffed us by playing a host of frees to the losing side in West Coast in the last quarter, enabling them to kick a vital goal in the last to just pip us. We were definitely the best side that day.
  21. and next year you might find one of Brayshaw, Oliver, Petracca lifting to Vineys level, and Tyson will be in an even better position.
  22. I agree, he looks the best of the 3 at this point in time. His play will be suited to tough finals footy.
