Simple, shove it up them by winning, winning more, and then winning even more.

For God's sake, be generous and don't make it a battle of wits.

Watched the game again on replay. That third quarter ... that's the most ferocious and intense play I can recall seeing from this club. Full on unrelenting 30 minutes where we gave them not one inch of ground, no room to move, no room to breathe even. Hardly a single Tiger possession that was not under extreme pressure. Not that they didn't try to give us similar treatment back, but they battled to score, while we pulled away. Fantastic stuff. GO DEMONS!

We should bury them but they'll drag us down to their level. That's what lousy teams do, including us not so long ago. We'll overcome them in an arm wrestle and end up winning handily.

That's what the bigfooty autocensor substitutes when another "c" word is typed in

The Hasbeens act has been tired for more than a decade. Even Hey Hey It's Saturday got put out to pasture when it reached its use-by date, but the Hasbeens keep getting airtime to run the exact same jokes they did 20 years ago.

No. It will follow us forever. But who cares. Better to be "known" for that than for missing teeth, spitting on your coach, etc. Now, let's sink the boots in the other way, and may it continue for all this season, and next season, and the one after that, and the one after that ...

They thought they'd blow us off the park, but found that we blow back. We simply overwhelmed them! Heat too much for Dusty. NO SUCH LUCK, MY FRIEND NOW BURY THEM, DEMONS!!!

Ablett, Carey or Matthews?

Spray them with water, that gives them a shock and deters them

Man bites dog! That should make a great cartoon poster. Like those ones of dogs playing poker, or pool.

Don't punch the TV screen then. Save it for tomorrow night.

Well that explains the massive beanstalk out the back of Red Hill. Also why "fee fie fo fum" can be heard at times on dark nights when the wind is right.

It's a deadset guarantee that if we have a run of success, our supporters will overnight become arrogant, entitled and insufferable. I for one look very much forward to seeing that happen. Very likely. It's bigfooty. Average mental age there is around 10.

Checker Hughes to be Honoured ANZAC Eve
Mazer Rackham replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
While we're at it ... For the best part of four years Hughes served with the 57th battalion of the Australian Imperial Force, and displayed the kind of resourcefulness, ingenuity and compassion that would become trademarks in his coaching. He rose through the ranks to the position of company quartermaster sergeant, responsible for his unit's supplies. Hughes was exceptional in this role, with the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette stating: "(He) has always given to the Battalion his undivided efforts. He has shown great initiative in the care of his men and no matter what the conditions he had invariably personally seen that every man under his care has been properly fed and clothed. His efforts have without doubt assisted greatly towards the comfort and well being of the men of his Company. His energetic efforts to better the conditions of his men in adverse situations are worthy of the highest praise and his devotion to duty is worthy of acknowledgement." Hughes' dedication was rewarded, as the London Gazette noted: "HIS MAJESTY THE KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Meritorious Service Medal … in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in France and Flanders (Belgium)." -
Checker Hughes to be Honoured ANZAC Eve
Mazer Rackham replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
By this stage the nickname Checker was already well established, coined by a mate's little sister. Whenever Hughes visited their house, the young girl would beckon him to lift her to see their checkered pigeons by saying: "Checker? Checker?" https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/453558/checker-hughes-a-giant-of-two-clubs -
A good thing too. I don't want any of our players burdened with a Charlie around their neck going into the grand final.

Oh yes. A player with speed is always an asset on the grass of the MCG. He always cracks in and he'd really put the acid on our opponents. We'd be dopes if we made a hash of this opportunity -- we'd smack ourselves. What a downer that would be. He's always good in junk time too. Get him into the joint.

After multiple humiliations in the Bailey/Neeld years, I don't recall an sympathy coming our way. More like contempt and mockery. North can look after themselves ... and start planning their new accommodation in Hobart. How do you reckon we'll go in the second half?

I reckon they're all gunna die one day

By the end of the season we will only have beaten teams below us.

"St Kilda have got to duck more here ... they need to pull something out, they should be throwing the ball at every opportunity ... the game is on the line, I don't understand why they're not whingeing to the umpires."
