I don't think you can be correct here. Gieschen doesn't know what day of the week it is. Let alone when finals are on.
-
The wall had his undivided attention, so: good coach.

Yes, your alleged support of the MFC feels out of whack. [censored] off and barrack for Adelaide or Freo.
-
No. They've done their time here. That chapter of the book is written. No turning back the pages.

Malthouse adventure will end in tears
Mazer Rackham replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm one who is kidding myself. I'd rather the young hungry coach with something to prove, than a spiteful old hypocrite who may not have the hunger and who is doing it for the wrong reasons, ie. to shove it up Eddie. -
Can't we whinge about it anyway, and throw in a dose of how hopeless we are at everything while we're at it?
-
Cue thread whinging about how we should have poached Longmire after 186. And how pathetic we are, because of everything.

Jack Grimes ''Time For Team To Rise Up''

So things ARE changing! -
I meant the media collectively. Individually, we get the Denhams. Patrick Smith the Hanging Judge. Mike Sheahan who is now bordering on dementia. And so on.
-
The media don't have an agenda. They spend their time wandering about trying to pick up the scent of blood. When they smell it, it's all in, like sharks around a wounded fish. Until a stronger trail of blood shows up somewhere. They don't care which club it is. We've been tempting them with plenty of blood trails the last few seasons. They have no self restraint, so they pile in. Denham has a personal gripe against Schwab and is unprofessional enough to let it cloud his thinking.

Christ, I hope no-one's panicking because of this Jurrah situation.

Liam's issues aren't going away any time soon. He's got bigger things on his plate than footy. But if he plays footy again, it will be in the SANFL at best. Maybe the Darwin league. Can't see any Vic club touching him now, and Adelaide and Port will not want to risk a spot on their list.
-
Hey Ben-Hur. Last I checked, these things were all in the past. It doesn't matter now. Let it go. There is nothing to gain in chewing over this old bone. You're only upsetting yourself. There's only one way now, and that's forward.
-
Quite. Can't they consider your feelings when making these decisions?

Malthouse adventure will end in tears
Mazer Rackham replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Or was it because we didn't want a bitter old hypocrite who was potentially burnt out and who would be joining primarily to spite his old club instead of for more meritable reasons? -

Ahhhhh .... are you just trying to cheer me up? -
\\No, he's Greg Denham. Hazy, shouldn't posts like yours be written at 3AM on a Sunday after your girlfriend has left you?

If you don't stop it, you'll go blind. -
So, through no fault of his own, and at very short notice, Cam has to go out and land TWO new sponsors? And he delivers? Bad Cam!

I don't care either way, as long as it ends in tears. -
Is Howe the best contested mark you've seen?

Tony Modra -- speccies every week -
Don't worry, he'll change it to something else next week. That, or some other rule.
-
Gieschen is hopeless. He's borderline incompetent. Maybe he's outright incompetent. He's just invented a new rule out of thin air: the "blindsided" rule. Last year he invented the "natural arc" rule for when kicking. Gieschen has championed this concept of "interpreting" the rules, when he should be going the other way. The idea that rules need "interpreting" is bulls---. If they need interpreting, they're poorly written. What hope do the umps have in consistently applying the rules when the top bloke doesn't seem to know what day it is?

Brad Green's Retirement - It's Official
Mazer Rackham replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Malthouse has a history of saying one thing and doing another. Case in point: he once had a crack at another coach over something that was said or done to said coach's players. "I would never ever do that to my players" said St Mick. Lo and behold, next day in the papers was an article from one of his former players ... Great Mick had done exactly that! There are other examples. But leaving that aside, why is Mick's opinion so important? It makes no practical difference either way. We can't do a damn thing about it. The only opinions that have any relevance are those of our footy department. Let's let them do the job their way. And ... GO DEMONS! -

I don't think it's that. There are some who are so addicted to whining that they don't pass up a single opportunity to throw a chilly blanket of negativity over anything in reach. They can turn any topic -- even the robot spaceship on Mars -- into something negative about MFC. ("Imagine if our footy department was in charge of it ... it would have landed on Venus!") They enjoy it. A shocking, destructive habit, but there it is.
