MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 10
In Harmes Way replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
If there's a Guernsey clash and we lose this game like we did the pink lady game in the early 2000's when Beamer did the quick handball from heavy congestion with 1m to play to a "teammate" in space which actually turned out to be the umpire wearing pink, turnover...bulldogs goal (win). Then I'll be severely [censored] off. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 10

Ha moonie - that was exactly my thought process! heard GABJnr was out, and immediately thought of the "Jack Viney made me cry" thread -
Free Kick Against Christian Salem in the last quarter
In Harmes Way replied to solly21's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reading through this post just pisses me off all over again. What I am thinking, though, is that it won't be too long and even atrocious umpiring won't stop the juggernaut that is on the way. A 4 qtr effort on any given Sunday, even with [censored] all free kicks against us, and we'll do them easily. -
I'll settle for Clarry winning the Norm Smith instead

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 9

Except Norf. Perhaps that will be the punchline on Monday "nobody beats the demons 16 times in a row either" -
This. The Mac brothers can't win here - TMac mercilessly pulled apart on DL for his turnovers (including by myself occasionally, I must add) and OMac still learning his craft on bigger bodies. The amount of posts I've read suggesting TMac should just handpass to Hibbo/Lewis for better quality disposals from D50 and focus on intercept marking..... I was really pleased with OMac's efforts at the game on the weekend, he's really coming along which we need as a footy club if we're to be a serious premiership threat in the next couple of years. He is becoming much calmer with ball in hand, and not so much a deer in the headlights, which this stat seems to back up.

We've played roughly half the teams in the competition now and there aren't any I'm worried about based on our/their performances. We just need to win enough games to get into the 8 come finals time, from there we'll be right I reckon. The 3x 6 day breaks might be a factor in this, rather than the quality of teams we play.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 9

This is why I'm delighted we have the 4 flags experienced Lewis to keep us level and focussed. We are just getting better and better. time to rip a team apart. I reckon this week would be good. -
The Ladder if the one-goal thrillers were reversed?
In Harmes Way replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon we learn more in the long run through where we sit now. We will get even better much more quickly through experiencing what happens when we bring substantially less than 120 minutes each week. -
And what you won't see was his great mark on the 3QT siren 1 on 2 - great use of the body and positioning. Unfortunately missed the shot, but really damaging and super hard to match up on. Absolutely loving his effort, pressure and intent. He's clearly enjoying his footy at the moment, giving a bit of lip to the oppo fwds. Again I'd like to thank Malthouse for giving him to us for free. Gold.

Sure was Ox. i took the view early that we were probably going to lose, so I'd celebrate our achievements loudly. Kept it up all night, my personal favourite was when I yelled out "PERCENTAGE BOOSTER" whilst laughing when Kenty kicked the last goal. It was like 45,000 people leaving a funeral. I loved every bit of it!

I was sitting right behind that one Ethan Worth the $1500 for airfares, hotel and the scotch to celebrate afterwards. I love that boy.

I thought Hannan had a pretty good game tonight es well. Did some nice things. Oscar got caught out on Josh Jenkins a couple of times, apart from that a great team effort and Googy had a cracker as well.

No changes next week my wife and fam came with me and my boy tonight. Wife and daughter were 50/50 going back to the hotel at half time, but didnt. She's stoked she didn't, and sang the song louder than all of us. im so proud in South Australia...

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8

Like the team this week. Even down to giving the two SA boys in Stretch and ANB a trip home to see the folks. Holistically looking after the team where possible (and I'd be happy if either had to come in). Good stuff Goody. -

Who knows, Ox, maybe this is the weekend my 11yo boy will give up on Hoges and take up bundy and coke instead... -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8

I've tipped us every week and I'm not about to stop now. that said, this strategy is more in hope as I'm flying the family over to watch the game. Don't want my $1500 for flights, accomm, tickets and large alcohol bill to be to see our worst showing for the year. GO dees (preferably from the first bounce this weekend, please). -
Yep - I've got two deemented. One good one, one bad one (Geelong supporter, you try to raise them right...)
-
I'm taking my family to Adelaide this weekend to watch the game. if we win, I will be very quietly singing the song and looking for reinforcements
-
What I get really peeved with is the club statement "we're preparing for their best" Not 100% sure we did that, and therefore what the eff that means. Singling out anybody after that first half is bu!![censored].

On the golf course me and my mates still call out 5-eye when writing down our scores. RIP Louie.

goal kicking The Mythical Hundred
In Harmes Way replied to MudDogs Gawn Win.. someday's topic in Melbourne Demons
I understand the desire for a big KPF a la Neiter to kick a bag every week, but I'm less fussed at the monent given our average scores for the year - we're doing pretty well offensively (120, 86, 97, 75, 112, 91). Average 83 points a game, 3 of which without Hoges who is scoring ~ 3 per game. Not far off... -
My tipping is absolute rubbish. did pick the doggies at least.
