Kane Cornes is one of the reasons that I no longer watch any of the Media shows - Goodwin plays favourite with Petracca and Oliver, he is really dredging up some rubbish when there are real stories out there. His hatred of Goody is becoming a bit embarrassing. Grow up Kane.

I often wonder what some players think, I look at a young Riv, Sparrow, McVee, Windsor, Lindsay, Tholstrup, Bowey and Langford. They all looked like they belong, they move confidently among the playing group and ooze an air of confidence whereas when I look at Laurie, Jeffo and Fullarton they obviously have talent and skill set to get on a list but seem to lack that same air of confidence and surety. Is it self worth, confidence or inner knowledge???

Re: Memberships. MFC were beaten up by the press at all levels so badly from the end of ‘23 throughout ‘24. The lack of support from the AFL and media fools regarding the Gus Brayshaw thuggery shook us to the core and this was followed by continual attack right through 2024. That wasn’t helped by Tracc’s injury and a lot of other negative activity around the club. No wonder members fled in their droves, it was hard enough for us rusted on members to continue on despite the constant criticism from inside and out. If we make 55,000 I will be pleasantly surprised.😢🥲

Personally and this is only my thoughts, I feel that the new game plan is starting to take shape, it is a faster more daring and taxing game style that we managed against the Hawks for three quarters where we should have been 4-5 goals up at 3/4 time, it was our own poor conversion and some very poor umpiring decisions that stopped us from being in a winning position, that is despite having six of the poorest eight Performers on the ground. We now have a core of players that have the skills to help develop and actually move forward with this game style however we need to be more ruthless at selection and only play those that are totally committed and prepared to bleed for the club. The coaches can only teach they can’t kick the goals but they can insist on minimum standards and enforce them.

Thanks Andy, George and Binman another great listen, I have been holding off listening because I was still disappointed about how we finished the game. However I thoroughly enjoyed the wrap up of the game, Binman passion in particular and I agree with his comments that we should persist with the new game plan even if it costs us games, it is a better brand of footy the more we practise it the better and fitter the group will become. Our kicking for goal was woeful the umpires pathetic and we had too many passengers in the side. Time for a change up keep turning over our bottom six until we find the right mix of players that want to contribute and bleed for the club. I want all Dee players to succeed, I hate wasting picks and hate the turmoil that these kids go through. I would be playing Matty Jefferson at Casey on the half forward flank until he builds the confidence to replicate it at AFL level, he needs a key forward mentor to teach him the tricks of the trade and hope that a Jeffo works his butte off in the gym and on the track. With Rooey play him at CHF in the one’s and give him the freedom to get out on his own, use Disco or Petty to share the workload and use AJ off the bench for ruck duties, we need to bed these boys into the side and get a mentor for Rooey and Disco, what’s Shwarter or Neita doing in their spare time, we can’t afford to waste this talent.

Thanks DD even though they had the three top rated players and six of the top eight which probably echoes their great last quarter we were pretty even across the board barring our bottom six. We fell away badly in the last fifteen minutes after leading all major kpi’s for the rest of the game. No doubt our poor kicking saps a lot of energy and that really showed when they slammed on the first three goals in the last and got their tails up.

Agree FND he stood up really well, he and TMac both did especially when Disco was sent forward to replace Harry Petty after half time we were a bit short forward and back. You can feel that Maysie isn’t quite right but he is such a great competitor.

I’ll quote my mother again with regards to gossip, as I have all my adult life - Believe Nothing That You Hear and Only Half Of What You See. if Clayton Oliver comes out at the end of the year and says I want a trade then and only then will I give it any credibility. I no longer rely on the AFL media circus and sadly try to glean my intelligence from Demonland, with mixed results. lol….!!!!

I think that we are all a bit anxious about the Hawks this week and we’re all hoping that our boys can continue to fight our way back. The Ins will be so important this week, I also hope that Rooey gets a gig.

Thanks DD we are seeing some positive signs with the playing group our top 6 are performing to a higher level and players 7-12 are also performing adequately so either our bottom 6-8 are performing poorly or playing a team role that lowers their individual score however it is affecting our team score.
