  1. Agree that the younger brigade need to be rapidly developed and I would add Kozzie Pickett and maybe McVee to your list of Rivers, Sparrow, Chandler and Petty. However, to my mind there are only two candidates that could step into the void in the near future, Rick Lever if he can get his body and game back to his best and Christian Petracca if he can continue to build on his current fitness and desire to lead. I am sure that the club will be working on our leadership issues.
  2. Thanks Mr Ed it sure is, my wifeโ€™s 70th today, having a birthday on the EOFY has saved me on a number of occasions. On a sadder note it is the 14th anniversary of the passing of another Demon great, Sean Wight.
  3. Thank you Ghostwriter, Kev Martin, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters, really glad to hear that Disco is participating at training today looked very sore on Saturday. Also good to hear that Clayton in particular and Harvey are mending quickly. Going to be a few missing against the Crows I think. Hope the rest pull up Ok.
  4. What about an elbow to the head. lol.!!!
  5. Deez21 are you new on here are you actually a Dee supporter perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the Training Reports on DLand, your above comments are both rude and bare no resemblance to reality.
  6. I thought that Gold Coast came out of the blocks like a bunch of storm troopers, running hard brushed us aside like we were U18โ€™s and they probably should have been more than 36 points ahead by quarter time. However from that point on we managed to drag ourselves back into the game and with a bit of luck in the last we could have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, despite losing Howes and Petty both concussed, Clayton bleeding like a stuck pig and a few others looking the worse for wear. By the way thanks to some on here for rubbing out our players in line with the Commentary teams biased antics. We finished strongly despite starting weakly, try not to let your disappointment colour your comments in such a negative mean manner.
  7. Looks like Viney and May Ok as well, lot of fines though for Melee commentators will be disappointed. No longer worried about head high contact??
  8. Agree DiscoStu17 Iโ€™d also like to see a bit more lateral thinking, we were getting beaten down back and even though Rooey was doing Ok at CHF why not try him down back and Verrall as well and send Adamโ€™s fwd to see what he has. Woey needs a role just as Tholstrup needs a specific role in the 1โ€™s, they are both team first players, it will help their confidence and improve us as a team.
  9. That will be an excellent result Ghostwriter, he is in our must keep group going forward.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
  10. 6 - Jake Melksham dominant game from Milkshake 5 - Kozzie Pickett I thought he and Jake might get us over the line 4 - Jake Bowey need to get the ball into his hands more 3 - Christian Petracca in the engine room where itโ€™s close and personal 2 - Trent Rivers got better as the game went on 1 - Jack Viney helped get us back in the game. Then Max, Salo and Claz.
  11. Everyone to their own opinion But we had a miserably poor 1st quarter and looked like we would go down by 60+ points, we hit the post twice and Milkshake missed at least two that he would normally swallow and we went down by 19 points to a top 8 side that was aided and abetted by the umpiring fraternity. Plus we were two down.????
  12. Suns 3.1 Casey 2.2 quarter time Cream 1st 2 goals.
  13. Dees by 17 running away.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
  14. I was reading the Training thread and Kevin Martin mentioned that Windsor hurt his foot during one of the training drills, so that may explain why he isnโ€™t playing. The Casey team will tell the story.
  15. Thanks Kev Martin a great training report, detailed and informative, might explain why Windsorโ€™s not playing.
  16. Thanks Binman I was hoping that you would get across this report, Geelong are the best but the only thing separating Dees from Cats is their finishing skills inside 50, goal kicking accuracy.!!!
  17. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall during the selection meetings, would be a real eye opener, hopefully not a popularity fest??
  18. GC are a fairly fast paced side so guess we are injecting some pace and giving Jeffo a run. Interestingly we are rated in the top 4 for ball movement from defense into f50 according to AFL. Feel like we are are going in a bit short though, needed another tall on the bench. Will be very interesting, putting a bit on Blake Howes.
  19. True to some degree beelzebub but my take is that the Media Assault on the MFC and then the in-fighting regarding our board and Mr Lawrence in 2024 convinced a lot of people including some on here that the MFC should be burnt down. That would have influenced the uninformed and even some rusted on members to jump ship in their droves.
  20. Another big thanks to Ghostwriter, Startibartfast and all posters and special comments, loved the training and personal reports and in such cold and miserable conditions. Sounds like the boys are fit healthy and energised and Iโ€™m looking forward to both games on Saturday. GW you need to be commended, I hope you had a cup of your special coffee from your special vendor. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
  21. Thanks Fritta and Turner that is good news, like the sound of Luker another 194cm fwd, playing CHB at present, doesnโ€™t turn 20 until September and could be another swingman like TMac, Petty and Turner. Like that he plays aggressively.
  22. Not sure GS_ Zero Hangar - โ€œFootball smarts, pace and efficient ball useโ€, likened to Hugh McCluggage, high praise indeed. My feeling is that The Duke had an injury interrupted pre season and was then sent to half back a position that he is not familiar with and he hasnโ€™t mastered and personally I hope they donโ€™t keep persisting.
  23. Hope itโ€™s not blowing a gale at yourโ€™s GW like it is here in Doreen. lol.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜
  24. McKay would be a great get but for the life of me I cannot see how we could get it done. Bergman sounds like a no brainer but our success in securing trades has fallen away over recent times, not feeling confident with our ability to trade to our advantage. Like a number of others in this site I would Prefer to see JT given a lot more opportunity to draft using more 2nd and 3rd picks.
  25. Thanks Andy, George and Binman for another great podcast and also all contributors, a great read and listen. I was still feeling a bit flat about our loss to Port and the fact that we kicked it to Rata 13 times, a player that I have never rated. I enjoyed Binman comments on Kozzy, I felt the same way like a big happy kid when he signed and his electric 1st half was scintillating stuff. So much effort and dominance in the 3rd capped off with such poor kicking.
