  1. Thanks Wheelo pressure ratings for both sides very close and JV led from the front, we ramped it up in the 2nd and they in the 3rd.
  2. I know that we kicked poorly in the first and I wasn’t expecting a win over there but we were right in the game, we bought intent and a hard edge to the game, I started to think we could win this. In the second we took control of the game and could have been a lot further ahead with a little bit of luck. They on the other hand started to get their hands on the ball and had a lot of luck plus their big loud booing crowd egging them on. The game ebbed and flowed, Max and Rick both received heavy hits that slowed them down, Disco had his eye split and both sides started making pressure related mistakes particularly with their handballing and field kicks. They deserved the win But it could just as easily have been ours, had we taken our chances. I was on my phone following the Casey game at the same time so it was two close games that got away from us within a couple of hours. Very disappointing indeed, however we are not far off the pace and hopefully if we maintain this level of endeavour we can win a few on the run home.
  3. It was very cleverly played by JV.
  4. And yet they slaughtered us by 13 points and they are a top four side….!!!
  5. 6 - Steven May 5 - Jack Viney 4 - Daniel Turner 3 - Kozzie Pickett 2 - Jake Bowey 1 - Jake Melksham 4.1 kept us in it. Then Langdon, Salem, Rivers & Gawn Great team effort, the boys played their hearts out in front of a very hostile booing bunch of fools.
  6. They are playing good team footy, they are hard at it and relentless, We will need to bring out very best today and try and nullify their playmakers whilst kicking straight. As previously mentioned looking forward to seeing our younger brigade earn their spots and contribute but if we are to be any chance we need all our older group to really come out of the blocks hard and play with real intent for the full four quarters. Go Dees.
  7. Manny100 I believe he is back in USA playing basketball until September but will be available for a full preseason with us.
  8. Story of my younger life.😁👍
  9. Which I have never witnessed at any of our home games over the last nine years. Sometimes the other team is just to good for us, when I look at other teams there are at least 6-7 sides that actually outclass us and we need everything going our way to beat them especially kicking straight. Since round 6 we have been getting our share of inside 50’s just not making the most of them.
  10. Ha ha so true I always considered Damo a lightweight in the media and never understood the attraction or how he wormed his way onto these panels.👍😁
  11. Just out of curiosity BBB should I have posted ARF for Aussie rules?
  12. From his coaches notes at North Florida Ospreys he is 6’5” and 205 lb, similar size to Rick and Disco. Competive passion and determination not only stems from his basketball background but in his Australian Rules Football days. Oscar is a Marketing Graduate and is planning a Masters in Marketing. Seems like a self driven young man that could fill a hole at Dees.
  13. Australian Rules under age footy BBB.
  14. Thanks DD apart from Noble and Rowell who were clearly superior to anyone on the ground and our poor start, the numbers show that we were evenly placed with GCS across the board. Milkshake and Pickett were both brilliant as well.
  15. Sorry BBB but he apparently played in an under age granny the year that his family moved to USA. Aussie Rules.
  16. Cranky Franky it is called optimism, hoping for the best rather than expecting the worse, our way can be disappointing whereas your way is always expecting the worst to avoid disappointment. We may both arrive on the same plane but I bet I enjoy the flight more.
  17. And yet D Rev we had 11 shots to 4 in the last quarter in warm conditions and no Petty or Howes and Clarry carrying a head wound. I don’t think that their fitness is in question even though Milkshake was cramping badly.
  18. Yes me to, Derkson down back and Kentfield up forward has a nice ring to it.
  19. Oscar sounds like an interesting Cat B rookie option, 196cm played Aussie rules in Australia until aged 16. His father is a High Performance Mgr in USA (worked with Bummers and Wet Toast in Australia) and his two older brothers are/were punters in the NFL. Should have a good leg on him. It’s a long shot but Oscar has chosen us over 5 other clubs and personally I look forward to seeing another Oscar in the mighty Red and Blue.
  20. Agree that the younger brigade need to be rapidly developed and I would add Kozzie Pickett and maybe McVee to your list of Rivers, Sparrow, Chandler and Petty. However, to my mind there are only two candidates that could step into the void in the near future, Rick Lever if he can get his body and game back to his best and Christian Petracca if he can continue to build on his current fitness and desire to lead. I am sure that the club will be working on our leadership issues.
  21. Thanks Mr Ed it sure is, my wife’s 70th today, having a birthday on the EOFY has saved me on a number of occasions. On a sadder note it is the 14th anniversary of the passing of another Demon great, Sean Wight.
  22. Thank you Ghostwriter, Kev Martin, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters, really glad to hear that Disco is participating at training today looked very sore on Saturday. Also good to hear that Clayton in particular and Harvey are mending quickly. Going to be a few missing against the Crows I think. Hope the rest pull up Ok.
  23. What about an elbow to the head. lol.!!!
  24. Deez21 are you new on here are you actually a Dee supporter perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the Training Reports on DLand, your above comments are both rude and bare no resemblance to reality.
