  1. That was a great first up game and after reading all the reviews and then watching the replay of the 7 quarters of football I must admit that I liked what I saw, every one chipped in and gave it their all, I was impressed with the way that we kept pegging the Tiges back and made them earn their kicks. We still have a way to go but I am now feeling even more bullish about 2021 with the improvement of our year 2 and year 3 players as they showed more glimpses of what they are capable of, not to mention our year one trio as well. We still kicked to the Tiges advantage to much and they got away with a lot of illegal blocks and pushes in our forward line but that's what top sides get away with, we now have that very strong core of top players who will be helped and supported by a group of young quality players eagerly waiting to fill any holes that may appear in our top 22 - 26 players. Go Dee's!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Good Luck Ryan thanks for sticking with us for 16 years, but as I have found over my working life that as one door closes another one opens and I think that could auger well for us in the future at MFC.
  3. Jake is having a shocking run, I hope it is not a long term problem for him. But I think that we have him covered short term.
  4. For some reason my all time favorite final is the win against Carlton in the 2000 final series, what a game and Malcolm Blights one sided commentary still rankles me. Green and Bruce played crucial cameo's in a solid team win, I can still remember that we were all jumping up and down as the scoreboard chopped and changed in that last quarter...Phew, I was exhausted.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Sympathies to Sam and the wider Weideman family, Murray was a true legend of the CFC and greater VFL community, a giant of the game. Glad that you got to spend a lot of quality time with your grandad Sam. His achievements still haunt a lot of Demonlanders.
  6. Commiserations young man, it is a terribly sad fact that we all have to face and it stays with us for the rest of our lives, but you must remember just how proud of you your mum would have been, you have achieved so much in your young life span. Hang in there Kozzie and remember that you have the whole MFC family thinking of you and your family.!!!!
  7. Congratulations ANB that is something to be very proud of, let’s have another year like your 2018. Go to it young man, we will look at you a bit differently going forward.!!!!!
  8. Congratulations Brad Green welcome back former skipper and one of my favourites after that game against Carlton all those years ago.!!!!!!!
  9. Good luck Majak Daw, looks like we are taking out some insurance in case Big Max gets injured again, I remember that game at the G in 2018 when he marked everything that we kicked into our forward 50, he was a real pain that day. HOPE THAT HIS BODY HOLDS UP.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I believe that from 1998 - 2004 we had a very solid Midfield, Centre line core of strong, tough and silky skilled players that played for each other and their coach, I can't single one out but as a group they were very very good. Where as with our current group I believe that we are now more skilled more talented and just as tough but they have not fully jelled yet, when they do they look awesome like against the Pies for example. Clayton Oliver in my mind has had the best first 80 games that I can remember in a mid fielder and now Christian Petracca has shown just how good he can be, they are now both elite and they are strongly supported by Viney, Harmes, Langdon and Brayshaw, with cameo's coming from Vanders, ANB, Baker, Hunt, Sparrow, Jordon and Rosman, if you throw in Rivers, LJ and Picket through the middle the group will be quite awesome. But in answer to the original question my choice is Clayton Oliver. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
  11. Thanks Picket as mentioned earlier that was a great report you got right into the heart of it, some really positive signs for us all, you really nailed it, thanks again. Go Dee's.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Really sad for Sam, he will miss a fair chunk of the season along with BBB, however it opens the door for TMac, Mitch Brown, Luke Jackson and Harrison Petty, we now have the cattle to cover injuries and get on with the season proper. No time to mope it's time to crack in and show us what you have got. BBB and Sam do what you need to do to get yourselves right for the second half of the season and the finals boys, don't feel sorry for yourselves feel sorry for the teams that have to play us.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I love that behind the scene stuff, fly on the wall JT pumped up Bowey and laurie and echoed the track watchers on Rosman, he literally could explode onto the AFL scene. i also agree that we have picked up three great kids, still kids but could fill some holes in the team. JT is strong on his opinions and you have to love that.
  14. Great reporting and personal observations PF, BP & deespicable, love these reports and feedback on the playing group I am really looking forward to the selectors struggling to fit everyone into the team, pressure, pressure, pressure.
  15. I am still very positive and feel that we have a real chance at top 4, it is up to the coaches and players to share belief and resolve, things can turn around real quick if you believe.
  16. I agree nsfm Eddie has missed the bus on this critical social issue, Eddie just does not get it and that is SAD.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Thanks 58er I am really bullish about our young group coming through so much so that I already have Trent Rivers in my top 15. I have rated our young guns in the following order:- 1 - Jackson - Just so talented and big he will be hard to handle 2 - Spargo - has the footy nous to hold down a permanent role up forward 3 - Sparrow - Showed that he is ready 4 - Lockhart - Talented, tough and fierce at the ball ( I know he is a bit older but he had to work harder to get here and I rate that) 5 - Kozzie - has all the skills just needs the tank and composure 6 - James Jordan - Can't wait to see him out there, I don't want to put to much pressure on him but could be something special I also rate your steak knives 58er, Rosman is already a real standout and both Laurie and Bowey will be hard to hold back, they are going to have a lot of players looking over their shoulder. What a great position for the Dee's to be in 58er I also say bring it on.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I believe that JJ and Sparrow are two of the six players that are going to improve our top 22 - 25 players this year, they appear to have the belief and pre-requisite skills to improve the team.
  19. I would like to add my thanks for that great and detailed report Deespicable we love the effort and info you have provided and wow what a day to stand in the trenches watching the troops and write your report, a month of rain in one day, well done indeed.!!!
  20. I agree with a lot that has already been said about Jayden, I believe that 2021 will be a good year for him, he can play half back, wing and is a real opportunist around goal but I am really thinking Rivers and Hunt off the half back line would be very hard combination to beat.
  21. Could not agree more dees189 Neale epitomises all the great human attributes and his smile is killer.
  22. Indeed 640MD it may be a fairy tale and most of us are dreamers at heart but it would be outlandishly great for us all if Kobe showed a glimpse of the Wiz in the Red and Blue - The ball is in your court Kobe, you might only get one crack at this thing.!!!!
  23. Thanks TK, CC & DS great to get the inside info on training, much appreciated.
  24. I am really looking forward to seeing BBB line up for us at FF, how good will it be to see a genuine quality FF lining up for us, it has been such a long time in coming can you just imagine the excitement when he kicks his first bag of 5 goals at the “G” we will be delirious.!!!!!!
