  1. To my mind this evens the playing field for clubs that stuck by the guidelines versus the clubs that utilised the sub to gain an advantage. Common sense approach to a problem that the AFL couldn’t/wouldn’t police fairly.!!!!
  2. Poor Jake severely challenged by injury throughout 2022, his stats were way down on his usual form but still managed to play a role in defence. He looked so sore at the end of games. One tough cookie is our “Rick”, looking forward to seeing him fit, healthy and back to his deadly best in 2023.!!!
  3. Like he said as an 18 yo, I want to be the best in the league.!!
  4. I also thought Charlie had a disappointing 2nd half to the season not sure if he was injured, he was covering for injuries or playing out of position but the number of times that we failed to have smalls at the foot of packs really stood out. We need Charlie back to his 2021 scintillating form kicking goals or setting them up, laying tackles and creating pressure, pressure, pressure. No games based on reputation in 2023.!!
  5. Brett Ratten Great Footballer very unlucky Coach, I remember well when Ratten was replaced by Malthouse at Carlton, Blues are just coming out of the nosedive that eventuated from that shemozzle. Are the Saints heading down that path of quick Fix, for the poor Sainter followers I really hope not. ( Wink).!!
  6. James Jordon is another one of our young guns that I hope will form part of the core of players that help maintain us at the top of the heap. JJ is one of our Utility type players that is happy to play any role for the team, fwd, mid or back but like BBP I am a bit concerned for him now that we have bought Hunter into the picture. JJ needs to have another big pre-season, get a bit stronger, faster and tougher and cement himself into the side.!!
  7. Must have had the nod from Ross before before dispatching Rats.
  8. With the full list Fit and firing there are going to be 6-8 players that will need to be knocking the door down at Casey and that is not including who else we bring in during the draft. Our regulars are- May, Petty, Hibberd, Salem, Lever, Rivers Langdon, Petracca, Hunter ANB, TMac, Fritsch. Pickett, BB, Sparrow Gawn, Oliver, Viney. Grundy, Brayshaw, JJ, Harmes, Bowey E: JvR, Spargo, Chandler, Turner, Dunstan, Melksham,Smith, Laurie, Schache, Tomlinson if TMac and BB aren’t fit then JVR and Schache provide immediate cover. Turner and Tomlinson cover tall backs. Assumes that Hunter will take opposite wing to Langdon.
  9. It’s looking OK BDA but you never know down that way it can change quickly.!!
  10. Well Grouse you may very well be correct, however I prefer to Back JT, Tim and Kyah to get the best out of this experience. At the very least we get a very talented, agile, high jumping 6’8” basket baller, who Wants to have a crack at AFL footy. According to his grandfather Kyah has already bonded with Mark Chocko Williams who is renowned as a development coach, so we will get the opportunity to watch this kid develop at Casey under the tutelage of our coaching team, Max and Brodie. Good Luck Kyah, I am really looking forward to seeing you in the Red and Blue and thanks for choosing us. I think that I will have a lay down and another cup of tea.!!!
  11. Kyah mentioned that his family are all one eyed Blues fans, they moved over to Perth in 2019. Hopefully he will be able to swing a few our way.lol.!!
  12. Agree Trent Rivers is a huge talent is 6’2”” and 91kg, has pace and a bit of mongrel, would love to see him back to his 2021 form and as WOK mentioned would love to see him have a run through the midfield as well. Looking forward to a big 2023 from the “Riv”.!!
  13. The thing is Dazzle that as a club we now lack talls and this kid at 18 is already 206cm and 95 kg, he has played footy in the past so not a total novice and is originally from Vic. I also liked the way he handled himself body on body wise on the court. This could fill one of our long term issues, now let’s get a tough tall forward into our ranks. JT is on the move.!!
  14. The players you have picked look the goods MAH, however we now have a glut of 6’.0”’s, we have skill, pace, toughness, we were exposed for lack of height against the top 8 sides. I am hoping for some additional tough height , ie, 6’3””+ forward and 6’6” + forward /ruck to bring some balance to our group and use towards replacing BB and TMac longer term.😁
  15. Agree with all above he has had an outstanding start to his career and played some excellent footy. It was fun counting off his consecutive wins just a shame it had to end on 17. I am looking forward to seeing him front up in 2023 after another pre-season under his belt playing in our best 23.!!
  16. Another one of my favourite young guns that play the selfless role for the team. His stats went through the roof in 2022 and hopefully he can continue to expand his role within the team. Needs to nail those shots within 50 and continue to hurt the opposition and increase his midfield minutes. Tom could be our JV replacement when JV gives it away.!!
  17. I agree with you SWUL I thought that the recognition of the 23 sat pretty easy with me but is it divisive , the playing 23 Vs whole list of 42-43 players is it a Premiership Ring or Participation award. Those of you who played at a higher level how do you feel about the decision?? As an aside I don’t think that we should pot a Premiership player that chose to leave.!!
  18. He is such a great lockdown player, very focused and rarely beaten, he surprised me this year just how good he still is. Michael Hibberd deserves another year based on form and to help mentor a suitable replacement.!!
  19. Heartily agree ElDiablo14 a Premiership defender that just keeps getting better has a huge tank and big enough to match with the Key Forwards, could also go forward but why weaken our Premiership backline. Harrison is developing into that star defender that every one envies.!!
  20. 30 very valuable goals from BBB but he was really beat up by the end of year, can he get back on the park, needs help if he does, we have to go hard for another key forward to either help or replace Ben and we need to do it this draft period. Good luck Ben.!!
  21. What a year for Jake “ the Fist” Melksham hit a purple patch late in the season in the ones and then played an absolute ripper in the Granny for Casey. Although he will turn 32 next year he absolutely deserves the extra year at MFC. Good one Jake.!!
  22. There is always a strong attachment to a father son player especially when his name is Woewodin. Shane has left such an indelible memory on MFC supporters that we already had a strong desire for his son to succeed at MFC. So the club needs to give Taj every opportunity to get him to where we need him to be a 200 game AFL player. Comeon Taj help us make it up to Shane.!!!
  23. Blake has the height, pace and kicking skills to play wing outside mid or high half forward, is he a good mark? Standing at 6’3” adds another string to his bow but he will need to put on some extra muscle and continue to build stamina and resilience to survive at AFL level. A big pre-season and a good year at Casey should buy Blake the necessary time to get his body right for a senior call up.!!
  24. AMW has a great raft of skills with speed, agility and kicking standing out, he is a good size at 6’.0”. Could Andy be that lockdown defender that we are struggling to find or an outside mid with pace with great disposal skill? We have a couple of openings Andy feel free to seize your opportunities young man. Like the look of this kid.!!
