  1. Don't worry!!!! the afl integrity unit are on the case as we speak , it will all get sorted out
  2. Thanks C &B Now I have the ammo I need for the magpie supporter at work tomorrow ! Plus I'll keep reminding him too that kennedy had a great game and ask Howe the frisbie is going ?
  3. He looked seriously down on himself watching the replay , even post match. Whilst that's good to see his competitive nature and setting high standards. ..I just hope Roosy & Co are all over this as we don't want Hoges to get the yips or lose confidence . Bottom line he had the effort and endeveavor today which is extremely important, yes he dropped a few sitters and missed a few gettable goals, but still got 2 and was unlucky with a few umpiring decisions. Great to see that even when it's not going his way he still works hard and doesn't drop his bundle
  4. Very happy with today's result, ball movement looking a lot better , forward line functioning well even with hoges having an off day & cracking the ton, forward pressure has been a constant across the preseason and its making a big difference, Kennedy and bugg are looking like decent pick ups let's hope they keep it up. Stoked that Oliver is ready made for Rd 1 , has great footy smarts that kid. We can safely say that Watts has had a great preseason (but keeping a lid on it tho !!!) The main downside from today is that our kicking out of defence is still scratchy, perhaps players still adapting to the new game plan, seems like they have the right idea to move it quickly but just fall short on skill execution. Also I know it's preseason but we've finally beaten the saints (and at dock lands ) 2006 seems like a lifetime ago, it's been a long 10 years , but I think this club is now finally mentally competitive and have some belief. ..winning games sure helps, now let's get some pemiership points!
  5. Hopefully my life insurance would cover me for the heart attack I'd likely have if we won this year!!!!!!!
  6. Best coach ever ... well whoever can deliver this club its 13th flag and break the longest drought in it's 150 year history. No disrespect to any of the others (particularly neeld) but the person who takes us to the top of the mountain in the modern professional afl game (and makes us relevant again) will be the Messiah and a living legend I hope it's Goodwin...
  7. Need to break this St kilda hoodoo. Our last win in 2006 and first loss in 2007 ... I see them as the start of the black hole we have been sucked into for the past 10 years ...infuriating we haven't even beaten them in the roos era Mentally as a club we need to break this hoodoo sooner rather than later...today would be a great start imo Then comes North Melbourne.....
  8. Remember doing a class presentation on a topic of interest for year 10 English back in 98, and chose the Ox as he was my football hero growing up and wanted to talk to his inspiring return from injury . finished off the preso with a vhs highlights reel of the 94 final against Carlton. Hit the right note with the class even though I went to school in essendon! Whilst this thread is sobering for me and we can think of what might have been given a better run with injuries in the 90s I am exited we now have another freak like talent in Hogan and a young midfield group that has the potential to be elite in the next few years.. go Dees !
  9. They could have Hird , dank and the weapon lead the march to the G all holding hands and singing kumbaya followed closely behind by the 34 , and then vlad and dill and the Essendon cronies and then stumbing aimlessly at the rear would be slobbo holding a casket of wine , 3 day old beard and shouting obsenities like the village drunk. And we in the crowd can all rise as one and give them a standing ovation as they stand side by side in the middle of the G "Well done boys ... so brave for coming out today ... and thanks again for hijacking the game of Australian rules football for the past 4 years , we've had a lot of fun along the way and we'll never forget what you did. But now if you don't mind stepping aside please, as we've come to play football today, and our boys have something very special planned for your team". Bring on the pummelling !
  10. And also sick to death of the media and afl feeling sorry for them and looking out for them ....why???....how much sympathy did we get over the tanking saga or our mismanagement over the past decade before jackson? Zip. ...gets brought up all the time and rightly pointed out that we only had ourselves to blame for where we've been the past 10 years... all true and fair we copped it on the chin, along with all the smug remarks from every Essendrug supporter out there. They are the ones responsible , they have to suck it up being in the mess they are now in. They don't deserve sympathy, yes they have and will be further punished over the next few years, they just need to serve out and cop it sweet and shut up. There denial and defiance to all this is mind boggling ....solidarity march ...FMD! What a pack of wan kers
  11. Dees finishing 8th with a dream run into the grand final (winning interstate in WA with a hogan goal after the siren , then smashing norf at the G by 100 points, then beating the pies in the prelim in extra time after the siren) and to come up against the minor premiers hawks (who've only lost 2 games for the year) in the GF and then running over the them in the final term winning by 7 goals ....
  12. And from consuming airated mid strength beer in plastic cups too
  13. Please...please Melbourne if you do only just one great thing this year (aside from making finals and winning the flag of course).... then be it beating the living shite out of essendrug. I want robbo to be absolutely plastered and a mumbling fool all that following week on 360 from the bender he'll need to forget that his club are now pathetic and a disgrace to Australian rules football.
  14. Yes and with having Roos on at least they were forced to talk about the Dees for at least 5 min's each week .... whether good or bad .
  15. Agree with that BB. I think they've been still slowly coming back down since 2012 , that 2007-11 elite midfield has now either aged or retired . skilled stadium is no longer the fortress it once was. danger and Henderson might help a bit don't understand why many think they're montys for top 4 . Looking forward to Viney shutting down selwood again this year Don't see all the hype with the cats. Still prefer that we're flying under the radar atm.
  16. Wouldn't meet his criteria for publishing for the following reasons: 1. Its based on factual information 2. Written logically and coherently 3. Doesn't fit into robbos "search for the truth" dillusional essendrug agenda
  17. Odds of leceister city winning the EPL at the start of the season were 500-1 Now top in februray abd likely to win it. Anything can happen ...just saying
  18. Problem with picking a top 8 is that many think the cats port Collingwood and gws will all step up and push for finals spots. I'm not as convinced. Even some still think the sun's are on the rise - I think their culture is stuffed and players want out. So who falls away ? The pretender tigers, surely norf can't fluke another prelim. Will freo or the swans drop away ? Dogs and crows and west coast could go either way? I could see why we don't necessarily features in anyone's thinking. But I also know that there's always at least one if not two smokeys each year that no one expects. I'm hoping we'll be one if them that takes the comp by surprised. We are primed for this
  19. I'm genuinely optimistic this year of continued improvement and to credibly contend for a finals spot ( if not just sneak in), like most of us have not felt this way in 10 years.... but I haven't yet heard anyone I'm the media say we will improve on last year which I have found surprising. King, Ralph and now slobbo have all said we will go backwards albeit they haven't suggested any logical reason for why this to be the case. I don't think we are being biased or looking through rose colored glasses, but are they just missing something? I'll be more concerned when I hear a credible journalist write us off this year
