It does go someway to explaining the obvious disdain he has had for our club over the years ....actually was surprised he even interviewed for the coaching gig after daniher left in 07 . Remember hearing something about him having a go at us on radio because he didn't put together a PowerPoint pack on his view of the world and that didn't go down too well with the selection panel (not sure how much truth there is to that or if it's just Martians at it again!)

Surprised it's not being played at the Whitten oval. From all reports the NAB challenge game there last year was a huge success and pulled a sizable crowd plus a great atmosphere. Would also have been great to once walk to the footy from home to watch the mighty dees play.

Like with a lot of things if we can win a flag then we'll command more respect... from the afl, the mcc, tv broadcasters , journalists and general footy public and we'll be taken more seriously. Unfortunately we still have to wear the last 10 years even though we are now headed in the right direction. It will still be us vs the rest for sometime

Let's hope so. I agree there's slim pickings but even from those I think any of us could have chosen a far better list. Also they have shown 87 finals matches before and 1998. Was really hoping to see something from 2000 as well. Anyways you're right we need to look ahead, future starting to look at bit brighter. (That 2013 match was sobering and showed we have come a long way in 3 years )

Noticed that myself watching at training on Monday, whilst it looks awkward he was still nailing all his set shots. Kind of reminds me a bit of the stuttered run ups for penalty kicks in soccer, which generally results in a miss or a save. But don't mind it so long as he's staying accurate, hopefully he can kick a few more from further out this year too.
