  1. Hope not because then the runners, the bench and the coaches box would not be doing their job. .. again that was another lesson from the St Kilda loss. On field leaders should have that info to direct the team and make the required changes. Given the obvious flood back they must have known though
  2. Really would love to beat norf this year
  3. Some of the lessons from last year were not learned being 1. Ruck tap it the feet or to contest force a ball up - again maxy tap straight to the opposition 2. Stop opposition players getting free run through the corridor - was it shiel that was able to get a free run at it and launch inside 50 However we did correct and learn from St Kilda in that we had extra men back to force a contest and Hogans spoil was awesome And finally we didn't get a brutally unlucky bounce this time either...However compared to the st kilda game there was more than 11 sec for it all to go horribly wrong Listened to the game on radio and then hearing were 8 points up with 20 secs on the clock you start celebrating don't you?? I was mote relaxed even with the late goal thinking the boys would have learned from stkilda. The last passage wasn't as nerve racking until I actually saw the footage later on Bottom line whilst we manned up well down back with 9 secs left we shouldnt have allowed them a forward 50 entry Great win yesterday and so many positives but definitely the FD and team needs to continue to focus on how we close out tight games, as that could make the difference for those extra couple of wins that means finals
  4. They've never drawn big crowds even in their dominant period in the mid to late 90s When we're on again and contending in finals we will pull big crowds regularly
  5. Some parallels to the Richmond Carlton game here Winning side got up with a big last quarter from their forwards Found a way to win ugly and just sneak over the line Loser kicked themselves out of it it inaccuracy Main difference we beat a quality side expected to push for the eight. Richmond bear a gutsy Carlton outfit expected to finish in bottom 2 So there's two different ways to look at winning ugly...I like our perspective Go dees!
  6. I'd like to dedicate this win to Tom Scully
  7. Goodwin Roos handover discussed again by King in detail tonight On the Couch. Some intresting stats coming out of nab challenge for us on defensive transition and forward pressure. Regardless of your views on these opinions we're getting a lot more press this year ...good signs
  8. According to Heppell those that call them drug cheats are "uneducated on the situation " Generic statements that he feels comfortable with what they were given and that it was 100% above board ... no further details to elaborate on that and why wada have it so wrong Delusion has now reached new heights Journalistic integrity gone out the window... These guys just let these deluded clowns deny their culpability without holding their denials and lies to some form of accountability .
  9. Such an appropriate reflection of our 2013 season ...
  10. Thought he would be more knowledgeable to comment on the top 10 pub crawls in Melbourne
  11. Agree totally, we've won a final since their last in 2001. And also same goes for essendon who haven't won a final since 04 (unfortunately against us) I do think 04,05 and even 06 we were pretenders. 2002 less so we shld have made a prelim but I don't think we would have gone much further.
  12. Comparing to clarkos first 6 years there was already 1 flag. Cats had a flag in bombers 7th or 8th year. Don't see the tiges getting anywhere near grand final day Sometimes the stats can be misleading...
  13. Richmond are definitely like we were in 05/06 just making up the numbers in the top 8, just not in the class to push into top 4, I personally don't see how they can get any more out of their list. They'll fire up and beat a hawthorn in say r18 and lose the following week to a much lesser side and then the same on field leaders choke in an elimination final. Best case for them is 5th and worst they drop to around 10th . If they drop out of the 8 then it will get messy over at tigerland, they still like to eat their own so to speak even when the team is doing ok. Whilst we've been less than perfect ourselves I think our offfield position is now much more stable in house. Thanks PJ!! Actually at least when we make top 8 we often at least win in the first week of the finals, something the tiges haven't managed. I have no doubt that even though we stuffed up our 09-11 rebuild and they progressed on, that in the long run we will still be ahead. No point making finals unless you have the potential to eventually contend for a flag
  14. Hawthorn seems to manage ok offering pick 18 ... must be the premiership destination club factor
  15. It's was on at 7.30 tonight but the TV Guide was not correct I was expecting freo and the pies. But instead it had norf, dees, port , essendon and gc. ..was surprised myself
  16. Just watching the Melbourne round table discussion on Fox Footy. Quite a lot of positivity around the attacking game plan shown in the NAB Challenge getting up to 100 points etc massive improvement on prior years, they want to see that continue. David King still banging on that Goodwin should have the match day keys now and keep up the new game plan and Roosy take the club shaping role. A lot of love for Jesse and Oliver too. The concensus was 9 wins but they saw moreso that the improvement will be reflected more in the style of play and the excitement for the fans and players enjoying their footy. Jason Dunstall was relaxed about Hoges fixing his kicking style and said he would be the first player you'd go after if you were building a team. King excited by Petracca said he's a freak like Robbie Gray just a bit taller Cam Mooney said we're no longer a basketcase, and people are going to be standing back this year and saying how good is this, they're exciting Brad Johnson's a Viney fan. Overall not really any negatives, but they wanted to see that NAB Challenge game style continue during the season
  17. But apparently we got more out of the Ox on game day when he knew post match he would need to ask for an advance on his fortnightly pay check... supposedly alot easier conversation when he'd kicked four goals in a final... back in the day when race results were up on the big screen at the G That being said I'm glad Ox has now moved on from those gambling problems and seems to have got his shi t together. Was a bit disappointed with his hogan comments, but I guess he has to play along with the "games" the media play .
  18. 100% Correct there, hoges still put in the effort and work rate yesterday . Of course he would be filthy on himself he sets high standards but it's not all just talent with him it's effort too ... unlike tennis brats like kyrigos and Mcenroe , it's only ever talent and when it's an off day they blame everyone else, so they can't be accused of not being good enough or not talented enough because it's always someone else's fault (and not theres) it's called a fixed mindset And to bag 2 goals plus a few goals assists for jeffy for an off day is pretty good in my book .
  19. The return of the wizard! Combined with Hogan that's a pretty formidable forward line
  20. They jacked up the monthly subscription by $1 not sure what for... maybe to help pay for ruperts wedding? It's surely not for a pay rise for drrwayne
