What i will add is that we missed a golden opportunity to sign Darcy Vescio as a marquee playee. Daisy was the right decision but the decision to sign Mel Hickey who is 30 years old was poor. Darcy is also from my hometown and i have seen her player for years and she is a dead set freak. You only have to see the way she turned it on friday night to see what a superstar she'll be. She is the type of player that will bring fans through gates and her along with Daisy would have been the perfect face for MFCW. I am also very bias as her father is my neighbor and best mate who is currently helping me renovate my house.

Crossy was offered a lifeline by the Bombers as a top up player but turned it down for the gig at the Dees.

Interesting to hear this morning that Sam Mclure had mentioned Josh Kelly was being sounded out by every single Victorian club but Melbourne was on top of that list. He then did say that Kelly was set to turn down offers and remain at GWS for 2 more years.

Fork.. You would find this surprising but all senior coaches have all had interesting field issues or past that many wouldn't realize. Difference is that its this one that has made the media and headlines. Mark Thompson had a very wild off field personality that resulted in a few trouble with the law and ex players. Didn't stop him from winning 2 premierships. Even Kevin Sheedy said in an interview years ago that he was borderline alcoholic because he would drink wine every night and it was starting to affect his marriage and game day performance. Cut Goody some slack.. These are life lessons he has now learnt that i expect will pass on to our players when he sits down and mentors them one on one.

What benefit? 2017 season hasn't even started yet. The benefit will hopefully come through his game day performance. If you have an injury free pre season then of course you can look a million dollars.

I understand all that and i have heard the rumors too. But he was just recently sent overseas to see a specialist regarding his troublesome calf. I trust our medical staff will be extra cautious with Gus because it really is a [censored] of an injury.
