Darcy Parish
Was just a simple opinion. Certain players can bulk up and some can't. And personally i think Parish will bulk up to have a good afl midfield body in 3 years time.

Because i compare the way his physique is to Nat Fyfe. Not saying Parish will become a big bodied beast like fyfe but Parish is very toned and cut atm and players who are built like that somehow seemed to bulk up well enough. You look at someone like Billy Stretch for example probably same build as parish and already we have noticed how significantly bigger he already looks compared to 12 months ago. Watts Morton and Toumpas struggled to bulk up over the years because they came in wi5h a body shape of a 12 year. All arms and legs and thats it. They never had the footballers build like the Nat Fyfe who was able to bulk up significantly. Maybe also they all had different metabolism aswell.

Looking at Parish frame he looks like the kind of build that will bulk up pretty easy. Once he gets a big bigger we'll see him lining up in the center circle roving off Gawnys taps. For someone who is quite slight and small he is ridiculously good overhead.

This exact same time last year Sam Landsberger started an article stating that Christian Petracca was set to land at the Saints as they had huge wraps on the kid.Take him with a grain of salt.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
We had a planning day for staff and coaching for the under 16s bushies before we start up again and one of the coaching staff from the 18s who is also a great mate of mine from local footy gave me a nudge to say that the recruiting staff were up to meet with a couple of bushies and NSW boys and Oliver was one of them.

Id like to see Olisik take on this now considering he judges a player based 'highlights'

He reminds me of Liam Jurrah

Lol how can you go by a player now on past tense? Especially when we have a good development program installed now.. Silly comment

And this shows you did not watch any game of Curnow. Thats where they played played this year due to coming back from a long term injury. We all don't know what his best position is but fact is they played him as a key forward this year.

Are you serious? You are comparing a midfielder to a key forward this year mate which is absolutely ridiculous

You said the exact same thing with Mathieson..

He was touted last year along with Parish to go high in this years draft. The reason why he has dropped is because he didn't have a good champions like he did last year according to the draft experts. But Tucker definitely was talked about a top pick last year.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
Thought i read somewhere that in an under 16s grand final Joel kicked something like 9 goals?

Last year he was touted as a potential number 1 draft pick. Fell away a bit this year but if the talls are taken before pick 7 id happily jump at the opportunity on this kid. Hard as nails Half back / midfielder who had a 15.3 beep test and provides run and carry off a half back with his neat disposal. Id probably compare him to Christian Salem. Will eventually turn into a midfielder and i know Roos has a big emphasis on players who can be versitile and play in multiple positions. Captained North Ballarat rebels in the under 18s game and also Australia in the VFL game so he has huge leadership credentials. Also something i found very interesting was i just read the AFL going places that Callum Twomey does and it stated that in the article it talks about him coming out of the meeting getting a fair wack from his with alot of recruiters for his performance as a captain in the VFL game was ordinary. So feeling down and dejected Jason Taylor could see he was upset and pulled him aside and gave him some words of encouragement and to keep his head up and focus on next week. Thought it was very good of Taylor and shows the qaulity in the bloke we have.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
I think quite obvious that Weideman if still available is a must pick at 7. Need another big key forward because lets be honest Hogan will eventually return back home to WA at some point in his career, so id rather stock up on a talented key forward now while we have the chance. Sam Skinner is another i wouldn't mind at one of our later picks.. 197cm key forward or back who was MVP for Vic Country in the under 16s. Did his knee this year but should be right for the start of pre season.

King is a couple of years away. Weideman is already a lot more physically mature than King.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
Looking at his interview on the mfc website he actually looks to have a decent build on him that could potentially fill into a power forward. Obviously has enormous upside.

Think of a smaller Angus Brayshaw/Nick Dal Santo in terms of he is a footballer first before athlete. Can play inside and outside, his first 20m is quick off the mark. Not your typical soft outsider as i have seen him burrow under packs and use his quick hands and smarts to get him out of traffic. In saying that though i have no doubt that he will start his career as a wingman and we'll see that outside dash and polish we lack big time. Also has the ability to go back and become the number 1 distributer off a half back due to his precise disposal.
