Let me just say that i saw this on twitter just then by Mark Stevens that we are hosting our season launch tonight. 1st question.. Why the [censored] has there been hardly any advertisement on the MFC website about the season launch dates and times? If it wasn't for Stevo i wouldn't have known it would be on? 2nd question is can someone who goes tonight please do a running update of the night. Exactly what are these 'vibes'.. Christian Petracca was on SEN today and he mentioned he was quite close to Goodwin and treats him like a brother.. Is it so hard for people to understand that the player have MASSIVE respect for Goodwin and love playing under him. Its proved in the last 2 games. I like Watts vut im a bigger fan of Goodwin and what hes done.

Omg.. Jack isn't a protected species, he is a 25 year old adult who hasn't met the club expectations on his training standards. So in the other words, he has been lazy in his work ethic and has now gotten a kick up the bum that he thoroughly deserves. Jack has no one else but himself to blame. Goodwin is setting an elite standard that is primed to stand up in finals and if Jack cannot follow that then im sorry he gets left behind and made to work extra hard like all players do. Why do we need to to continue to cuddle jack every single time? He is a grown adult who has coasted along his whole career for one good season in return. Im sorry for setting a huge expectation on Jack, but fact is, he has been a huge disappointment so far in his career and decided that after 1 good year to take the pedal of the foot and back on cruise mode. Look at Max Gawn and Jack Viney. Both have had career best years and both have stepped it up another level during the pre season because they are driven to the fact they now know you have to back it up each year and strive to be elite in the competition. I applaud Goodwin on his hard stance on this. Players love him and its shown already in the last 2 games that they are on the exact same page as him.

I think they have managed the situation quite perfectly. On ya Goody.

1st qtr i saw him line up in the center for a bounce but yes i think he was up forward all day.

I dont mind this Bump at all as it shows how far we have come in 4 years. I dont understand the need to attack someone for doing so as well. It also show how resilient and tough Melbourne supporters are for sticking it out because this journey is about to get a whole lot sweeter. It would have been easy to give up after the Essendon debacle a week after but we all stuck at it and now we about to reap the rewards. Good on everyone for sticking fat on this incredibly tough journey we have been on.

Was reading an article about the highlights from the weekend and was shaking my head in disbelief when i read this. Christian Petracca is a jet The Melbourne midfielder came out of the same draft as Western Bulldogs gun Marcus Bontempelli – and was actually picked two selections ahead – but started at AFL level a year later courtesy of an ACL tear. We saw that Bontempelli's second season is when he became a star and Petracca is tracking the same way. On Saturday against Carlton at Casey Fields he kicked four goals from 19 possessions. There were midfield cameos but he was at his best across half-forward where he made every touch count. Its unbelievable that some of these so called journos on a regular basis get information wrong which proves they do bugger all research. In the Bontempelli draft, pick 2 was actually Jack Billings.

Surprised Alex Neal-Bullen hasn't gotten a mentioned. I thought yesterday he was really super with his defensive and pressure acts on their backs. If he plays another good game against WC then i cannot see why Garlett and Nib can't be our starting small forwards. Im hoping he's watched tapes of Toby Greene who invented himself into that small forward who puts enormous pressure on opposition backs and does a tagging job on the dangerous running half backs. If he gets a gig round 1 id send him straight to Montagna to do a tagging role.

Looks really trimmed up too. Could see him ending up like Josh Kennedy from Sydney after a couple of Pre Seasons.

Another impressive performance by Clarry. A big thing i have noticed is a change of style in his game. His outside work has improved vastly and noticed him running and receiving alot yesterday which was good to see. Also i notice he didn't have a stat in the last qtr? I watched the game game but i don't remember seeing him? Was he rested?

Yes i have played footy. Running defender too. I rarely made diabolical skill errors like he does every game.

Saw that.. poor girl was in tears. Poor old Mike looked devastated. With all the highs of footy it can be an extremely cruel game. I know shes been working really hard on trying to break into the team and within a minute it's all over. Hopefully the pies give her another year on the list to get back to full strength.

What on earth have you been watching the past 2 weeks? Tom McDonald has been absolutely horrible. If there was a small negative i would take out of the JLT series it would be McDonald. It will never happen but if only Frost was fit because id have both him and Oscar (who has been the better defender) as our starting 2 defenders round 1. Tom McDonald will cost us some very crucial goals this year.

Goodwin said in his after match conference that both Kent and Tyson will be available for selection against West Coast.

Carlton has Cripps as their only best 22 not playing. We didn't have Tyson, Kent, Jetta, Frost, Garlett and Watts. Let that soak in.
