  1. If Langford goes to Crows do we reach Allan with pick 5?
  2. Cal just said if Crows take Langford, we'll take Tauru.
  3. Yeah I agree.
  4. I know Twomey has good inside sources but something tells me that its Tauru that will eventually be our first selection. i still think Langford does not make it past the Crows.
  5. You won't be seeing Junior Mac down in Melbourne anytime soon. He's settled up here in Albury in a real nice property just out of town and is heavily involved in the agriculture world. He coaches the Albury Tigers juniors and I've been keeping a close eye on his young fella Harry McDonald who is a upcoming gun junior footballer. Harry won the under 14's best and fairest this year and finished 4th in the league beat and fairest.
  6. This is my prediction. Richmond - Lalor North Melbourne- FOS Carlton - Smith Adelaide - Langford Melbourne - Taura
  7. Coming up this morning on AFL Gettable.
  8. He's not a good defender one on one. It's not his strength. Very similar to Lever, he's floating 3rd tall in which he's biggest strength is being able to take good strong intercept marks. The comparison to May is bizarre.. May is a bigger frame with incredible strength who can compete against the likes of Curnow, King, Naughton, Daniher. You'd never ever put Taura on these guys even when he fills out a bit because he hasn't got the one on one strength.
  9. That's the only way I can see it potentially, but the whole trying to turn defenders into forwards doesn't sit well with me at all. If we're desperate for a key forward then grab someone like a Jobe Shanahan who's a natural key forward and proven at VFL level that he can kick goals.
  10. I'm just pulling your leg Slarti, I've got doughnuts except for a few Bushie boys fron the area with other clubs.
  11. The issue is that McDonald is a 2nd key defender. Taura is a 3rd tall who's very similar to Jake Lever in terms of playing that floating intercept role. He's not a big bodied defender like May and McDonald. Lever still has 3-4 years of good footy left which why this decision that we are reaching for a 3rd tall defender even more bizarre.
  12. I've got the Intel and inside info, but I won't share it on here in case it offends you.
  13. Underwhelmed with Taura to be honest. Especially as he is a bit of a ball butcher off half back. It's a ridiculous reach for a guy that's only just performed this year. If Draper is there then we'd be silly not to seriously consider him. He's a potential A grade midfielder that would be ready to go come round 1 next year. I don't love it, so I'm hoping this particular phantom draft doesn't play out like this.
  14. Fox Footy Phantom Draft https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxsports.com.au/afl/draft/phantom-draft-afl-2024-fox-footy-afl-phantom-mock-draft-2024-predictions-live-trades-bids-formguide-date-time/news-story/be023112f1bf1fcc17d4189df93fa5ab This has us taking Taura at pick 5 and Allan at pick 9.
  15. In tomorrow's West Australia. The other wingman in West Australia, Bo Allan, is also on the Eagles’ radar, but Richmond and Melbourne all have a strong interest in the Peel Thunder product and have picks before West Coast.
  16. Check back in on Sunday night to see foxfooty.com.au’s phantom draft. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  17. Melbourne has been linked to whichever top-line midfielder slides to the Demons at pick five to add another young first-class ballwinner or a Jake Lever replacement in Tauru if he slides past North.
  18. They're not solely just pure mids. Langford is a weapon up forward and he showed that at Coates League level this year where he kicked 20 goals playing as a mid who could rest up froward and take strong contested marks. Allan is more half back flanker that will eventually transition into a midfield role similar to Rivers.
  19. Fox Footy will be dropping their phantom draft tonight.
  20. Just to back this up on why I think he's got huge potential to dominate in the midfield in years to come. This is from an under 18 Colts game this year where he played mainly as an inside midfielder. Not only does he do the inside grunt work, but his ability to spread on the outside and explode from contest is why he's a tantalising propsect.
  21. Yeah I'm sure recruiters are falling over themselves to get inside information off demonland.. Look, you've got a well respected journo who is well connected to the draft and has the best draft intel going around in Cal Twomey who's literally about to release a phantom draft tomorrow to the whole of Australia outlining the inside mail coming out of the dees camp on who they may take at pick 5 and 9. Marc McGowan from the AGE literally did the exact same thing last week. This is literally no different. You also do realise that even if the club has a particular player in mind for both our picks, it doesn't mean it set in stone now. There are always last minute decision changes or that particular player gets taken early or slips through. As I said, it's all a bit of fun..

  23. Having tossed up a few options I've settled in on Bo Allan as our preferred option at pick 9. Everything of him screams of Angus Brayshaw in terms of versatility and competitiveness, something the club saw as a great need hence why we targetedDan Houston. He'll start his career off a half back and I have no doubt he can slot in at that role come round 1. This also means Rivers now transition to being a full time mid. I know some have concerns over his disposal but I don't think it's that bad as some are making it out to be. It's his competitive drive, power and speed off the mark, and ability to read the play is why I think he's got enormous potential.
  24. But it's okay for guys like Cal Twomey and 50 other journalists to do so? Have you emailed them and advised them to keep their mail and information to themselves as well? Probably best not to read Cals phantom draft tomorrow. It's all a bit of fun. That's why the draft has become a popular spectacle. Now we're seeing heaps of YouTube channels trying to get one up with phantom drafts and information.
