Based on what evidence would Roy George made much difference? Probably speaks volumes on him that he's been overlooked twice for the SPP position especially considering he's been training with us the whole summer and yet we still overlooked him. I want to see some form first at VFL level before we further assess if he's actually any good.

He still spent 63% time in forward half. I'm not suggesting Howes had a good game, but Steven May out meant we only had Howes as the only ideal match up due to his speed and height. Rivers was on him down back in the last and still gave him way too much leg rope for my liking for such an experienced player.

Howes had the job on Toby Greene and soon as he got subbed out Greene went ballistic in the last quarter having 11 disposals and kicked 1.1 Speaks more volume on Rivers who was incredibly poor defensively on him in that last quarter then anything, especially to allow him to have that kind of impact the way that he did.

Add Tholstrup's pressure and energy also.

I don't get the love for Sharp. Other then a run down tackle he was barely noticed. Jack Henderson showed more then him. Honestly, if his name was Jack Billings he'd be copping a pasting for that type of performance. I don't think we'll make any changes to be honest. I'd prefer not to see Sharp and especially Chandler who is just so meh for a small forward. He does nothing for me. I'd be looking at Kynan Brown for either of them.

Typical. Just knew the moment we missed that goal and they started their transition they would score. Games have been lost so many times off the back of this. How have we not rectified is beyond me.

We always lose in wet weather games. We just never seem to adjust to those conditions. I hope today is different.

Brisbane who probably had the worse preparation going around with not been able to train, seem to adjust fairly well though.

Good insight right now into the conditioning perspective because Hawthorn have already played a full intensity game where as Essendon had the week off. Giants will be the same.
