Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?

Not only is AMW smaller then Hibberd but he is more suited to the dangerous smalls such as Charlie Cameron, Rankine, Nick Watson, Willie Rioli types. He'd match them for speed and aggression. Hibberd had a good blend of being able to play on the smalls but could also sit on Dusty Martin, Patrick Dangerfield or a Toby Greene because he had strength and frame to able to match it with those bigger bodied type meduim forwards. I see AMW as a Mathew Whelan type lock down defender who would play on the likes of Stephen Milne and Jeff Farmer types. Twice this year we've had Cam Zurhaar get hold of us simply because we had no decent match up on him. Kind of player that Hibberd would have easily locked down on.- Judd McVee Contract
Surprised me as well. And the perfect protype defender suited well on Moir.- Time to go Goody?
The Rivers non midfield selection is one of the more bizarre decisions going around. I mean he literally said pre game against Gold Coast few weeks back he would start to gets a few different looks in the midfield at the back end of the season and yet once again, hasnt followed through with it. Rivers trainedas a mid over the summer but has yet barely had a look in since. Once again, Goodwin goes into panic mode and reverts back to his old stubborn way. What's even more depressing is that we have another 12 months of this all over again.- Judd McVee Contract
Do we know for a fact he was on Moir? I mean, whoever it was, it shouldn't have happened. Between our medium defenders in Rivers and McVee someone gave him far too much latitude. We have a history of making ordinary forwards look like Wayne Carey once a year.- Time to go Goody?

I was at that game and everytime I would look down back it was Rivers who was on Curtis. We've got a significant hole ever since Michael Hibberd left the club. We dont have that big medium defender that can take on the likes of Zurhaar, Dangerfield when up forward. McVee has been poor this year unfortunately. How we let Ashton Mior kick 4 goals on the weekend is just appalling.- Time to go Goody?

The last time our recruiters took on recruiting advice from Gawn, he got us Lachie Fillapovic. Let Max just play football and recruiters focus on recruiting eh?- Time to go Goody?

Pretty sure he did say he spoke to high official at the club. May have said Guerra? I can't recall sorry..- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Its a good point on confidence. I think its why we just have to play him out in the seniors for the rest of the year and hope that the penny will drop in terms of him knowing just how hard he needs to work if he wants to make it at senior level. I will give it to him though, unlike some key forwards ive seen, hes not afraid to leap into packs and create a contest. I feel with each experience and a bigger frame, hell start to clunk those marks.- Time to go Goody?
If its anything to go off based on what David Zita was saying on FOX after the game then get use to having Goody "for 2026 and beyond" He said the club fully backs Goodwin and want to add experience players and not get younger Tough pill to swallow losing last night in itself but then to hear that news was even more deflating.- Trade Targets

Leave Jefferson in please. I think he struggle with the dewy conditions but there were still moments like the smothers and bringing the ball to ground. Him and JVR just need to continue that forward synergy.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
So because of Neale Daniher stepping down as coach in 2007 which is i remind you, happened 18 years ago, thats exactly a direct correlation to what would occur if Goody was removed? Can you look into the future now? Mate you're laughable. I've seen some worse takes on here but this is now taking the cake.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
You're all over the shop. I'll let you go back to sticking your head back in the sand.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Based on what facts exactly? Do you even know the difference between stating a fact that hasn't even occured to making a statement based on opinion.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Got us close to a team that was missing McKay, Walsh, Silvagni, McGovern, Newman, Cottrell who are all in their best 22. We sunk to their level and didn't capitalise on our opportunities once again because we're mentally weak and crumble when the pressure gets too much. Every game pretty much has a one sided umpiring bias. You're acting as we are the first club to be umpired poorly this year. We've got far bigger issues with this playing group then purely blaming a loss on umpiring. If you can't see that then you are part of the problem.- Can we talk about Kolt?
Spend the rest of the year playing midfield at VFL level. I was all for gifting him games but hes no way near AFL standard.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Blame the umpires but turn a complete blind eye to the deplorable skill level from our players on show tonight. If you're blaming our loss purely on umpire, then you simply have problems yourself.- POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Sestan hasnt played for about 5 weeks. Not only was he not even in consideration prior to injury but he'll need a good block of games in good form. At least Brown is a tackling machine and would add forward half pressure.- Time to go Goody?
If he had any integrity hed resign at the end of the year. I cannot cop another year with him watching this rubbish brand 3 years in a row. - 2023. So close but so far. Footy and life. Some more meanderings from a marginally mired Melbourne man.
