Legend @RedLegs23. Appreciate the update. It's also interesting the comparison between AJ and Jefferson. When it comes down to a big finals game where the pressure cooker and intensity is incredibly high, you take the guy that will compete and will himself to each contests non stop. I'd have him round 1 considering it sounds like Turner didn't do much either.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 8th March 2025
Yes H, players numbers indeed.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 8th March 2025
@RedLegs23 fantastic write up mate. Want to get your observations on a few players that interest me, especially heading into round 1. Langford AJ Henderson Woewodin Brown Thanks once again.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 8th March 2025
Love it!- NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
Sydney pretty much reflected how we played last year without Petracca and bringing in underdone players. Without Gulden and Mills and playing an injured Grundy it just proves how vulnerable a side can be without their A graders. Adams, Grundy and Rampe all looked cooked last night and they were too heavily reliant on Heeney and Warner. Hawthorn overwhelmed them around the stoppages and on the outside as well. McCartin is not a forward and I still have question marks over Logan McDonald so I feel they are a bit vulnerable up forward as well. Hawthorn looked bloody good though. Barrass and Battle could be the difference in them winning a flag this year.- NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
Grundy getting smoked by Meek in the ruck.- PREGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
Common sense doesn't belong here. Wasn't just Petracca and Langdon. Fritsch missed a relatively easy shot in the first quarter about 30m out in front and then again in the last when he completely fluffed his set shot. Around the ground Billings kicking was fine. He's a hard runner who gets out into space and has a high work ethics.- Forward line questions
Wrong crowd with well known criminal behaviour.- Clayton Oliver

They don't hang out socially but.. There's a difference between going out and having a beer with someone on a Saturday night compared to just going to the same Gym/program to do your extras's on your off day. They just attend the same mobility and stretching program with a number of other AFL players like Pendles, Brad Hill, Mitchell Owen's and Daicos that do the same program. Salem also attends this program.- Forward line questions
Socially they don't hang out. They both attend the same mobility and stretching program and thats where the relationship was struck up but that's as far as it goes.- 2025 Free Agents
When I read the article that there were Vic clubs interested, Melbourne was the first club that came to mind straight away. He fits an important need for us with his ball use and football smarts off half back. Really hope we go hard.- Forward line questions
Also, stay riiiight away from JUH. I'm well aware of his off field antics and why [censored] hit the fan between him and Rory Lobb. I doubt the real story will come out regarding that incident but if it does you would NOT want him anywhere near our playing group and especially Oliver who's worked incredibly hard to get his life back in order. JUH issues are worse then what Oliver through, like I'm talking next level above, and that was a challenge in itself for the club. We don't need any more [censored] at the club. Some things are for more important off field then it is on field. We're still in the process of rebuilding our culture and so far we're taking good steps toward. It only takes one person to undo all that good work.- Forward line questions
He doesn't. He's a taller Bayley Fritsch that lacks the competitive combat instinct you need in a key forward. I look at young skinny players similar to Jefferson like Nate Caddy and Calsher Dear and you can already tell they've got already in spades for such young players You either have it or you dont and Jefferson doesn't unfortunately. Against North in the practice game he was still getting out bodied and out marked way too easily for a guy that's been in the system for three years now. Drafting/trading for another key forward should be high on our priority list at the end of the year alongside a couple of small forwards.- Kudos Brad Green

Personally I think he's physically ready and more then capable to step straight into our midfield role right as we speak. But you're absolutely right. If your name isn't Viney, Petracca or Oliver then forget about it. It's going to be my number one frustration this year if we continue to constantly roll these three out as our starting midfield every single weekend. As good as they are, we simply cannot go back to the same format where clubs worked us out with our stoppage set up simply because we became so bloody predictable with the same set up each and every week.- PREGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
He didn't play a bad game at all.. but due to Viney, Petracca and Langdon playing more midfield time yesterday this limited Langfords midfield minutes and instead had to waste away up forward where he was barely noticeable. That's the reason why he played well against North because he was given more midfield exposure because there was no Petracca, Viney and Langdon playing. It's not the worse thing in the world that a first year player starts off in the VFL. He'll be able to play more his natural game as a starting midfielder and then when the time is right, then hopefully the club see him best fit to actually slot into our midfield set up at AFL level.- PREGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
There was a lot of positives to take out of the Freo game but still some questions marks on a few concerns. Few points I want to highlight leading into round one. It was good to see the Gawn, Oliver and Petracca combination back in full swing. Honestly though, how do we look after Gawn better? The guy is going to get smashed each weak and there is only so many hits his body can absorb. How do we utilise Campbell in some capacity to ease that burden? Feel like we are way too heavily reliant on Gawn still. Other then May and Lever, there is a significant drop in our back six talent. Bowey is an ordinary player, other then taking the kick outs with dinky 20m kicks i have no idea what he adds to our team. He is also a ball butcher with his rush hack kicks and i feel his development has stalled. Unlike others i actually like Howes and think he can become a good player. Windsor is still young and inexperienced but I think with each game we'll start to see some drive from him and McVee which will hopefully be the starting point of us being able to slingshot we'll off half back. I think Langford doesn't play round 1. To be honest he looks completely lost just wasting away at half forward. He's a kid that's physically ready to go so not sure why we didn't through him in the midfield after the first quarter. Attended a few CBA's in the first quarter but didn't get a run in the midfield for the rest of the game. Odd. I'd rather he get a few games at Casey playing solely as a full time midfield so that he's getting the quality development in a position that suits his strengths, then bring him in when the time is ready. I have Xavier Lindsay certainly firming for round 1 though. Forward line is still a massive concern for me. There is now a heavy reliance on JVR who is yet to turn 22 and yet we saw yesterday how completely unbalance how forward line is without him. Turner is simply not a forward. Literally did not sight him until the last quarter where he kicked s junkyard goal and that was similar to the week before against North. AJ did more yesterday then Turner has for two weeks. Small forward stocks are very low and limited. If only we had another Pickett huh.. I'd rather not have Chandler in our round 1 team to be honest. I'd much rather Kynan Brown and or Jack Henderson to be honest. You can give me all the stats in the world that says he's top 3 for repeated sprints and all that jazz, but he's just an ordinary player in general. It's no surprise why we had interest in both Kako and Joe Berry in last year's draft. Small forward are becoming a premium in today's game. Just on Jack Billings, around the ground he was actually fine in my opinion and his field kicking is actually better then some of our top tier mids. It's his kicking for goal that's just bad.. and yes, he plays round 1 for me. Just don't let him inside our forward 50. Not sold on Sharp as a half forward but liked him when he moved to the wing role. Get Petty, McVee, Tholstrup, Pickett and Melksham back into our team come the real stuff and I think this changes the whole dynamic of our team. Hanging for GWS now. - PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 8th March 2025
