  1. Can't be getting into the defeatist mentality that Petty is gone. A lot can change in 12 months and don't forget he's still contracted to 2025.
  2. Just a hunch or something you've heard?
  3. It also cost us Adam Cerra because we didn't have a first round pick to satisfy Fremantle as we used it to trade up the previous year. Cerra wanted to play for the Dees but we simply had no draft asset. Zac Butters and Ben King are out of contract next year. Trade our future 1st on Monday night and you can kiss goodbye any attempts of nabbing either of these two.
  4. Well yeah.. it's purely to bank picks for next year so that we have options for any trades next year or just extra options for the draft in general That's the whole point of future trading.
  5. No idea. One rumour is we want Sanders if we trade up and another says we badly want Watson. Who's knows.
  6. Do we know for a fact that we simply won't be using pick 42?
  7. That's why the Tholstrup pick makes a whole lot more sense.
  8. How do you know that? There are reports that Sydney and St Kilda are/were set to snap up Tholstrup with their first pick straight after ours. So it's not just Melbourne that rate him but Sydney especially who have a good eye for talent, certainly were ready to pounce if he got to their first pick if by reports we do snap him up.
  9. He's been in the first round contention since last year as confirmed in the above article.. A high impact and high score involvements player, Tholstrup has been in the first-round mix seemingly since last year.
  10. Ben Waterworth has us with Windsor and Tholstrup as his picks for us. It's only around 48 plus hours until the draft and the general consensus is that Windsor and Tholstrup are our potential picks by the looks of it. Draft journo's usually get good draft Intel close to the draft and reading the ones from the Age and Herald Sun, they too had us with Windsor and Tholstrup.
  11. God your a sensitive individual. I actually wasn't bringing you down. You've made a big statement stating that we've gone cold on Tholstrup. So what's that based on what exactly? Some have asked the reasoning why and you haven't to responded to those enquiring? Considering Taylor made such a huge effort to go and meet the family personally I am even more intrigued why we have gone cold all of a sudden? All the mock drafts in the past 24 hours seems to still point to the Dees as being a strong consideration for Tholstrup. I brought up the Caddy comment because you confidently stated that If we still hold on to pick 6 we will select Caddy... which seems like it won't be the case as Windsor looks to be our main preferred option. This is why I'm half struggling to believe we've immediately gone cold on Tholstrup consideration what you confidently said about Caddy.
  12. Clubs don't lock in players weeks out before the draft.... As Jason Taylor stated today, there has been about 15 players that they have interviewed for that pick 11 range and are continuing to assess how the top order falls.
  13. Weren't you saying only a few days ago that if we keep pick 6 we'll be taking Caddy.. Same time that that it was only reported yesterday by Jay Clark that the Dees will NOT be trading a future first to WC?
  14. Considering they have just upgraded Turner to the senior list on a 2 year deal I would suggest that the coaching department are supremely confident he'll make it. He'll play as the 3rd tall defender next year. Bookmark it.
  15. You'll get a lot of haters for this post but I totally agree bar Hunter and Billings. Thought Hunter was serviceable and a much better option then Jordon who we had previous year. My biggest concern once again is that we go into another year not addressing our outside speed and skill. We have Hunter and Langdon on the wings with zero to no depth of anyone coming through and overtaking them. Langdon has been poor the past two years and whilst Hunter was okay this year, I can't see much improvement from a 29 year old mid paced wingman. The Collingwood pick up of Oleg Markov is one of the great bargain pick ups in years. Collingwood identified speed off half back and immediately saw that Markov would be suitable to at least come in and make an immediate impact. As much as I was/is a fan of Marty Hore, I really am confused by this selection. He doesn't address a glaring need at all and he's practically depth behind Turner, Tomlinson and Adams. The ruck depth is another one of our biggest concern on our list and you'd think they would have added depth in this department instead of another half back flanker. If Gawn goes down then responsibilities are left up to poor Will Varrell.
  16. Charlie Constable, Aaron Clark and now Blake Schlenslog are 3 fantastic pick ups. They really lacked the height and physical size all year and o think these guys really give them some flexibility.
