I was at the game and It's the first time in his career where i thought he looked genuinely dejected and bereft of confidence. He's trained all pre season as a full time mid and I know in an interview late last year that he stated he really wants to push in there full time and make a name for himself. I can only imagine this would have been deflating for him that he's been reverted back to the backline.

He didn't play midfield. He had zero CBA's and played at half back for the game to cover for Windaor.

Completely different concept to AFL footy.. but okay. They do soccer as a flush run to get the legs and blood moving again. A good way to get sore or stiff spots out of the way. I don't agree with it personally and i know other AFL clubs dont do this at all but i prefer just some extra light touch skills with actual footballs and still incorporate some fun in it if need.

Marty Hore's body is simply not made for AFL. I reckon he retires at years end.

Laurie only played a half on the weekend and he was near BOG alongside Baldi for that matter. The bloke has been unfairly treated at selection while guys like Sparrow, Spargo and the likes continue to get royal treatment each time.

It's right up there as one of the biggest list blunders we've had in a long time. As you say, we simply didn't need to extend at all, North bluffed us and Tim Lamb and Goodwin lost their cool and caved in. We're now stuck with Viney clogging up a spot of any up and coming mids such as Langford cementing that midfield position. Other then being an inside midfielder, Viney has no other flexibility in his game ro play other positions like Oliver and Petracca can. His performance yesterday was god awful especially his ball use. Drains me to think we're going to have to deal with that for the next 4 years.
