  1. Yeah, i get what you mean. The way i look at it was there wasn't really any other leading contenders from any other youngster from the other games so i think that's why he may have gotten this week's nomination.
  2. #18 Noah Yze (Casey Demons) Forward/Wing | 191cm | 12/04/2006 Having been overlooked by Melbourne as a father-son candidate last year, the son of Adem is staking his claim right under the Demons’ noses at Casey. He got on the board early with an impressive long-range set shot and often used his big frame to absorb pressure or contact. Yze showcased a strong set of hands in some instances but also spilled a few straightforward marks as he roamed up the ground. He ended up slotting another set shot goal to level the scores in the third quarter to make up for his previous skill errors, and was among the Young Guns’ best.
  3. Once again, Max Gawn on triple M yesterday morning laughed off at suggestions that Petracca made a rousing speech after the Freo game. Pretty much implied that it never happened.
  4. Did I say i had marked his papers?
  5. Can't say I'm all that impressed with this appointment. The fact that we need to get him up to speed from a Football perspective is already a concern in itself.
  6. https://www.google.com/amp/s/7news.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-set-to-hire-victorian-business-chief-paul-guerra-as-new-ceo-to-replace-gary-pert-c-18513375.amp “Alistair Nicholson presented very well, the former Melbourne player who now runs the Coaches’ Association, but my tip is that Paul Guerra will win the role, an Essendon man who will change his colours.”
  7. As in said in the previous thread. He hasn't been picked for the SA under 18's squad which is usually a good gauge on there they are at from a development perspective. His form seems okay but don't know whether it'll be enough for him to get drafted.
  8. Prasad is very similar to Kako/Watson. Very small but incredibly nimble and slick Going to be fun watching him develope for the next 12 months or so.
  9. Plays for West Adelaide not Port.. Plays as a wingman/half back. My understanding is that he's a potential late draft pick or even rookie prospect at this stage. Didn't make the cut for this year's South Australia under 18's squad unfortunately.
  10. I beg to differ
  11. Yeah interesting. On the eye test I would not have picked him at all. You said he had 5 touches when he actually only had 3 as listed on AFL stats. Imo there were at least 10 other players that were far better then Spargo in the 3rd quarter i thought. Actually ten is probably being kind.
  12. You make it sound like its a pattern of behaviour creeping into his game when it's not. It's a one off incident in his 6 game career. Plenty of times in his short career he's thrown himself into contests without hesitation. He's fine.
  13. What's that's based off sorry? 3 touches for the quarter including 1 tackle. I'm keen to know on what merit was he judged as one of our higher rated players for that quarter.
  14. Nah I'd be frustrated.
  15. I can still see a way where Petty, JVR and AJ can work in our forward line. Johnson had 5 tackles and 111 fantasy points in yesterday's VFL game off the back of 6 tackles the week prior. His physicality and ability to ruck would be so beneficial for JVR to just simply focus on his forward craft.
  16. In comparison, Tom Sparrow laid 10 tackles and 29 pressure acts playing purely as a forward last night.
  17. Yeah I thought this was pretty telling. I still don't think that was the correct option by Langdon and he's lucky it came off. Fritsch had a pretty decent gap between the defender behind him and the fact it would have suited his left side as well was why I thought it was a strange decision. They are the perfect lead up targets we've been screaming for. Interestingly I thought Goodwin was a bit guarded in his response to Fritta in his press conference. It's pretty evident that simply kicking goals isn't the only thing that will keep him in the side. Someone mentioned before the 0 tackles and 4 pressure acts. Think I heard May and Bowey get interviewedafter the game and they emphasised that pre game the biggest thing coming into last night's game was that our pressure had to be right up it certainly showed from a team perspective, but unfortunately for Fritsch, his lack of pressure is pretty concerning.
  18. So so to be honest.. i still see moments where I go there's talent there but 3rd year in the system now I just don't know if it will work out eventually. Can't doubt his effort, but if he was laced against big Nank tonight, he would have been eaten alive unfortunately. Just probably lacks the edge that other ruckman have going around and if Gawn goes down, it's Campbell and not Verrall that will get a go I think it's crucially important we add another ruck talent at the end of the year.
  19. WC run with the 3 talls in Allan, Waterman and Williams, so may need the extra tall in Turner.
  20. Staying at Casey for a long time. On today's performance he's well behind JVR and Aidan Johnson for talls that are next in line. Has zero intensity and physical presence.
  21. In: JVR, Melksham Out: Sharp, Fullarton.
  22. Nope. Without derailing this thread, Jefferson was God awful today at Casey. I would just rather play one short.
  23. Agree, I didn't think there would be anyone worse. Absolutely i did. Me of all people wanted him to do wellm As a leading forward he created space and led at the ball carrier. Tonight though, he put in one of the all time worse performance in the ruck. He got bullied by a much smaller opponent in McIntosh and then could barely show any form of a presence against against Nankervis
