  1. Maybe he was though? He and his manager were clearly asking the questions around trade period. I'm only reporting what I was told during that time period. If Cal Twomey reported it then I'd say he'd be on the money. Pickett through his manager, was fairly active in terms of keeping an open dialogue with the club throughout the trade period, that's a fact. The last day could have simply been another last attempt on whether the club had changed its stance.
  2. Banging the door down, absolutely yes. Better then anyone in our current 22 line up, no.
  3. Really happy for Laurie.. Grab your opportunities son!
  4. Kozzie has been on public around his level of home sickness and why its important for him to get back to Perth to visit his family. I barely trust a journo in the industry but one I do is Cal Twomey. You ask insiders within the AFL industry and especially recruiters and there is a high level of respect for Twomey for his work and professionalism especially when it comes to inside information. The guy does his background checks at an incredible length before he releases his info. Bumped into a current player who's from up this area and one i had a fair bit to do with from Murray Bushies days. We spoke all things as well as the issues internally and Kozzie, trac and Oliver situation. Kozzie didn't ask for an official trade but he did meet up with Simon Goodwin after the season had finished and spoke about his home sickness and whether there was a possibility of going home back to WA to be closer with his extended mob. Club was incredibly respectful of his wishes but also he was contracted and a trade would be incredibly difficult. His manager then approached the club around trade week just to see whether the club had a change of mindset but there wasn't which Koz and his manager were fine with. Both moved on pretty quickly and that was it. Club doing all they can to support not only Koz but family members that have moved down here to Melbourne. My personal opinion is that I think there will potentially be another scenario at the end of the year where he'll approach the club to be then shut down due to his contract. It would take an almighty offer from Freo to turn our heads which then means he will see out his contract until the end of 2027.
  5. I'm scared of my wife so I just do whatever she says.
  6. His game against West Coast Eagles in 2018 in Perth was definitely one of the best games he has played in his career. And I think this performance is so underrated amongst Melbourne supporters. Like he literally helped us get into the finals for the first time in 12 years.
  7. Corowa Rutherglens hopes get crushed every single year this guy gets on the park and plays well. Not just Melksham but across the league there is some older heads in nearly career best form. Sidebottom, Gawn, Dangerfield, Taylor Walker kicking 75 goals at 34 years of age.
  8. I'm guessing Adams is back up for Lever in case he doesn't get up.
  9. There is no club in the AFL that would have the quality to replace Gawn. Hea a generational player. Campbell of course would still provide a solid back up option. Completely different style of ruckman, but would at least give us a solid mature and experienced body to crash and bash.
  10. I think you are undervaluing Laurie's tank.
  11. Okay. What do you want the club to do then? Because I can tell you right now it's not going to change anytime soon. There is only so much the club can advocate for. To say that the club needs to "Grow some b*lls" is ridiculous. You dont know what's been done behind the scenes from a club perspective. In the meantime we'll have the same usuals on here continue to moan about a kid that's not even in our academy. So realistically, hes on the same level as every other 900 other kids out there trying to get drafted. I mean, this was literally done and dusted last year when Cal Twomey made the announcement. Put the time and energy into Marcus Prasad and Toby Sinnema instead.
  12. Anyone that disregards a Ross Lyon coach team and thinks its a walk in the park are kidding themselves. They still have calibre in their team that we will need to play close attention too. Higgins, Sinclair, Steele, Wilkie, Marshall are still all high end talent. Every game is crucial for us regardless of the opposition.
  13. Time to lock the thread. He's irrelevant to us now. Time to move on.
  14. Looks like we're about to lose one straight from our own backyard.
  15. It's been a thing with interstate games but didn't realise they would stoop to this low.
  16. For anyone being critical of Fox Footy commentary especially Dermie, just remember that they weren't even at the ground calling the game. They called it from their Fox studios in South Melbourne.
  17. I cannot believe we find ourselves in this position as we speak. I, like many others thought our season was done after the Gold Coast game. The North game was just diabolical, but to lose to the Suns in the manner that we did, I then accepted that we were no chance and put the rest of the year down to a development year in getting games into the kids. Credit to Goodwin, I thought he had lost the players at this point.. how wrong was I. Now we find ourselves a game and percentage out of the top 8! Whilst I still think we've left our opportunities late with those early losses, I dont think we'll die wondering either. We have some tough games after the bye, but also some real winnable ones as well. Our system and cohesion is in place, it's now just a matter of executing on game day.
  18. Great work dees! 👏
  19. Get off the ground Lever ffs
  20. Put em to the sword Dees!
  21. He's cooked.
  22. Pressure is elite!
  23. Yep. I agree.
