  1. I don’t feel it was a criticism of the player as they follow coaches instructions. It was more aimed at the coach & good on Simon for having his say. We criticise them for being bland & then when they give an honest answer we criticise them for that …
  2. Bowey went out of the team in round 18..2022 because his form had dropped off & he didn’t feature again that year. He seems to be following a similar pattern but hopefully he can pick it up against Syd because he is a good kick in a team who isn’t overly endowed in this area
  3. Not in favour of resting players. We have rarely had a settled line up all season so need every opportunity to build synergy in the team.
  4. Maybe rain on Sunday in Sydney 😱
  5. Has to have a run …game fitness is crucial
  6. Pity we don’t extend the same level of understanding when our players make errors under same type of pressure …
  7. If we had been awarded that goal and won I don’t feel that we were by far the better team just as I don’t feel Carlton were by far the better team by winning. They’re riding a wave at the moment and I felt it was very even. If we meet them again I’d still be confident regardless of who they bring in ..
  8. Obviously your comments reflect your moniker ?
  9. Agree with both. Think the game is more about the decline (finally) of Geelong rather than the resurgence of Collingwood. Of course the media won’t have that opinion
  10. 4 players …fantastic !! Thought McVee a little unlucky …
  11. I intend to get there at 5pm to watch this match. There’s been a few times a momentous sporting match of different codes has been on in the bars etc & the atmosphere is fantastic..
  12. Nowhere in my reply did I disrespect Carlton & I’m not making myself feel better by “building a narrative against them”. They have done well …it’s a competition where you only have to be a couple of % off & you’ll lose to anyone but they can emulate our DNA all they like but they’re not us & I honestly believe we are the better team. So I’m not in the business of building up Carlton & lauding their team …I save that for my team. Petty is a huge loss & so is McKay. I think Curnow found that out last week with 10 possessions & 1 goal. I’m hoping that we’ll realise just how much we have missed Clarry after Sat night !
  13. Getting a bit carried away there. They’ve had good wins against Hawks..Freo & WC all in bottom 4, They beat Port who had 7 out …17 points against Pies who are on the nose at the moment & just a win against a similarly placed top 8 side. I’ll happily put our 23 up against theirs and expect a win. It will be tough but I back our team to get it done. I hope you do ?
  14. It’s bad enough when the media at large don’t listen to Goody but surely our supporters should. He has said ad nauseum “WE ARE NOT TRYING TO TURN HIM INTO A FOWARD…JUST LEARN SOME FORWARD CRAFT”. We will see how that’s gone if or when he comes back in. And he will ….
  15. Surely you're not talking about Collingwood. Have a look yourself or listen to First Crack on where they are in game indicators … nowhere near the 2nd best performing team. Diff if you’re talking about Carlton ..,
  16. 🥱 Ridiculous comment. We don’t have a team full of A graders & the above players have filled a role & been serviceable at certain times. As have our B grade midfielders who have covered Clarry. We are not a team of individuals we are a system driven team.
  17. It was either the after match report (Richmond) or the coaches interview before the North match. Like you I was quite shocked ..maybe a slip of the tongue by Goody ?
  18. The only negative & it’s a big one is the loss of Petty. However we do have amazing depth …so lots of magnets can be spun. So I’d much rather be a “ happy clapper “ and enjoy the fact that for 3 years we will finish top 4 & we are in this season up to our necks. But wallow away …
  19. Goodwin did say in an earlier press conference that Petty suffered a Lisfranc which kept him out earlier in the season. Always shudder when I hear that word. Hopefully it’s not a repeat …looked similar to Fritch’s injury …
  20. So 1 backhanded positive…take the points …& then 6 negatives. I almost look forward to how you can spin the narrative to negativity even when we win .
  21. True & I was expressing my opinion . BTW very happy following the rainbow🌈
  22. If you read my post correctly..I said we miss Brayshaw when he drops back defensively to help our backline …no mention of taking anyone out ?
  23. All valid points but with Clarry missing & Brayshaw playing more midfield time ..I def think we’ve missed Gus’s defensive pressure in our backline . He often drops back (as in GF) & helps our backs. I think we’ll realise how much we’ve missed Clarry when he is finally back in our team.
  24. Geelong has to play at optimal level from now until wherever they end up …finals as well if they make it. With their age demographic..can’t see it. Def haven’t had the luxury of resting players his season ..,
