  1. Great to watch the old style of footy when a forward had the whole 50 to lead into without 4 defenders blocking up the space in front of him! Loved Jako as a kid and I remember I was shattered when he went to the Bulldogs, even though he didn't do anything for them. Also see in that footage Sean Charles, another huge talent that we only saw a glimpse of....
  2. He's had finger issues/surgery in recent times too I believe. Might be a problem relating that that?
  3. Michael Clark played his first and only game for us! Just looked at the stats theres a guy I can barely remember....
  4. We've started the last couple of games against them pretty well, but then had woeful 2nd quarters and allowed a rush of goals. After that we're chasing all game. Something about the ground and the Saints seems to make our players drop their heads very quickly. Need to make it a tight tussle, stick with them to give us a chance to pinch it. Close the match down for a period if it looks like they are getting a run on. But after so many miserable trips to Etihad I'm anything but confident...
  5. The effort was ok but our ball use was horrible. Watts, Salem and Oliver were good in this respect but most of our other guys took a flamethrower to the footy. Need to tighten this up big time on the fast deck at Etihad or we'll get cut up. Got a good lesson from the Eagles as it didn't look like they were going in that hard, but their superior skills set up simple shots at goal time and time again, at times they picked our zone apart with ease. I think we'll be a side that is in most matches this year through effort but we need a big lift in execution to challenge the big boys.
  6. Big Jake staking a claim for a rd 1 berth!
  7. Watts is vital as he's the one player we have that can really use the footy
  8. Our skills have been appalling for 10 years and I'm not sure there's been a lot of improvement in that area at all
  9. Skills are not really a strength of our side...
  10. Hope he gets an injury free run at it after this one as he's played some good games when fit. I don't necessary think he's in the best 22 every week but around the mark.
  11. How are we favourites!? The bookies are having a laugh aren't they, we never beat St Kilda and we play like pus at etihad
  12. Believe it when I see it. I'm still recovering from Toumpas mucking it up in the goalsquare when we led in the last minute.
  13. Worrying the club hasn't updated us on how bad it is....makes you think it's real bad
  14. It would be exciting to see some good form from Trenners...fingers crossed for him he gets a bit of a run
  15. Hmmm...you'd think if it was a stress fracture scans would have shown that...mysterious
  16. Any word on what vanders exact problem is yet?
  17. We don't know that Vanders is definitely out yet...his ankles are an ongoing concern but it might just be a management issue
  18. He's seemed a great kid and certainly doesn't lack confidence put it that way! Jesse on the other hand is really shy and quiet...of course I am basing all this on 2 minute conversations and I'm sure they are well versed on being on their best behavior in front of fans.
  19. I remember going to that match: I think Steven Armstrong played well!
  20. The hype train is getting a little ridiculous on the back of a couple of good JLT performances. Sure our side looks exceptionally talented on paper and chock full of potential but we all know too well how this team historically gets ahead of itself after a couple of good wins. Losing to Carlton last year when we had a chance at the 8 was the pits! Until we eliminate those sort of performances comparisons to a triple premiership team aren't even worth thinking about for mine...
  21. Met him briefly at the Casey Community Camp when I was getting autographs for my daughter - got that touch of Brayshaw smartar$e about him which I like! Much taller in person than I thought too he's not that much shorter than Hogan, should be in for a great year.
  22. We were favourites going into that game too from memory...I can remember sitting in the Southern feeling numb when the final siren went...and knowing that the odds of seeing a win that year wasn't going to be too high. Being forced to remember anything from the Mark Neeld era is a cruel and unusual punishment!
