POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Bulldogs
Not an acceptable excuse under any circumstances ,but the feeling at the ground from the outset was the players weren’t up for the contest. I think the attitude was established and the game was lost at the selection table. Ultimately the Bulldogs came to play and we came to survive until the missing players on our list returned

Ron Barassi
I have a number of Demons’ stickers on my vehicle so there’s no dilemma as to which team I support. A few years ago I was stopped at a traffic light and the female driver of the car next to me gesticulated to wind my passenger side window down. As I was doing so, the rear window of the woman’s car was also wound down and none other than the great RDB appeared and clenched his fist as he bellowed out to me ‘GO DEES’ . It was a cherished moment, until I had the honour, along with my kids, to pose for a number of photos with the great man that would appear in the HeraldSun on the weekend just prior to our 2018 finals campaign. Eternal memories

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MAJAK DAW
I don’t want to put a dampener on things but GWS may gazump our plans and sign Daw ahead of us now that they’re in dire need of a fit ruckman

Jordan Lewis’s views on Kossie
On SEN, Lewis made the comment that Kossie was comparable to Cyril at the same age ?

MFC Trade Summary
Just an interesting little aside from TMac’s manager Alex McDonald tonight, who said Tom had already lost 4kg in an attempt to regain his mobility and power running ability

Adam Treloar
To paraphrase Jerry McGuire , he’ll complete us

Adam Treloar
Get him!!! His signing WILL make the difference

TMac on the Trade Table?
TMac’s inevitable departure smacks of the same supporters’ sentiments as those expressed with Jack Watts’ removal.

Jack Viney Restricted Free Agent
On SEN about an hour ago: The original offer for Viney was too low for the player and the counter offer to the club was too high. Subsequent negotiations have arrived at an acceptable figure for both parties but they are waiting on cap sizes to be ratified by the AFL. in further news Isaac Smith has expressed strong interest in the Dees’ offer and is weighing up his options

Jack Viney Restricted Free Agent
Body language of Viney from the B&F suggests to me that his heart’s not with the club.

My 3 word player analysis for 2020
Baker - eventually showed promise Bedford - failed to impress Bennell - probably blown it Brayshaw - seemingly without commitment Brown - deserves contract extension Fritsch - important despite innacuracy Gawn - consistently high standards Hannan - inconsistency was consistent Harmes - a poor year Hibberd - outstanding when fit Hunt - position a dilemma Jackson - cause for excitement Jetta - definitely fallen away Jones - bow out gracefully Langdon - year’s best recruit Lever - regularly justified salary Lockhart - courageous but limited May - an outstanding season O. McDonald - has many limitations T. McDonald - was obviously encumbered Melksham - rarely stood out Neal-Bullen - mostly a plodder Oliver - performed as expected Petracca - joined the elite Pickett - exciting but limited Preuss - unlikely displayed enough Rivers - very impressive debut Salem - reliable and consistent Smith - tried but lacking Spargo - needs more involvement Sparrow - promising , needs development Tomlinson - improved towards end vandenBerg - tough but limited Viney - prolific but wasteful J.Wagner - played little part Weideman - a major disappointment
-
My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Brown - played his part Fritsch - dangerous but frustrating
-
My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Gawn - controlled the game Hibberd - rarely imbued confidence May - continued impressive season Smith - not the answer Salem - prolific and effective Lever - safe and important Tomlinson - reliable when involved Langdon - prolific and reliable Oliver - great first half Petracca - played as expected Viney - refused first options Baker - better each game vandenBerg - far from convincing Hunt - took his chances Rivers - some important touches Neal-Bullen - added very little Weideman - continued to underperform Pickett - exciting but limited Melksham - improved his tan Spargo - tried but limited
-
My 3 word player analysis V GWS
Gawn - dominated the centre Jetta - well off speed May - always exuded confidence Smith - quiet but effective Salem - great second half Lever - redeemed himself, just Oliver - quieter after ambush Langdon - fantastic last quarter Petracca - willed the win Rivers - must be nominated Spargo - surprisingly important role vandenBerg - not an onballer Baker - finally showed something Pickett - needed more involvement Brown - better than McDonald Melksham - little impact again Viney - take first options Fritsch - some important cameos Tomlinson - slow but effective Neal-Bullen - disappeared after first Hunt - disappeared after first Weideman - never really appeared

Fox Footy Analysis Dermot, King, Robbo MfC DNA
Normally I’d agree with your response to the three ‘experts’ but in reality, after watching the aforementioned discussion, I think they nailed it on the head. They used words like fickle, untrustworthy, flaky, mentally weak, and actually named Fritsch, and Salem, as prime examples, and the playing of an obviously injured Jones against Sydney as further evidence i personally had no argument with their cases
-
My 3 word player analysis V Sydney
MFC - you’ve killed me
-
My 3 word player analysis V StKilda
Gawn - stood up outstandingly May - an elite performance Langdon - prolific and indefatigable Oliver - slightly off key Petracca - was the difference Salem - reliable and tight Rivers - calm and composed Hibberd - some important clearances Wagner - rarely looked confident Brown - important in fourth Brayshaw - continues to confound Tomlinson - jury is out Viney - couldn’t get going Melksham - continued disappointing season Jones - age has wearied Lever - reliable and effective Weideman - ten minute performance McDonald - slow , not terrible Spargo - little to commend vandenBerg - not a wingman Hannan - couldn’t justify inclusion Pickett - played little part
-
My 3 word player analysis V Footscray
Viney - disposal a concern Petracca - poor under pressure Brayshaw - had little influence Oliver - season worst game Fritsch - our only forward Hibberd - season worst game Lever - poor under pressure May - our only winner McDonald - tried but limited Weideman - too easily outmuscled Langdon - no heroics today Tomlinson - played without passion Melksham - no second efforts vandenBerg - was rarely noticed Pickett - had no impact Lockhart - enjoyed the sun Harmes - an irrelevant player Hannan - improved his tan Spargo - performed last week Sparrow - unsighted before injury Preuss - beaten by Beveridge Salem - slow and loose
