  1. I agree with your sentiments but there’s a huge raft of PLAYERS in the league who are playing for the wrong reasons too based on your rationale. Why should coaches be any different?
  2. Obviously we’ll never actually know who on the selection committee voted for or against whomever, but it’d be fascinating to know if there was unanimity or close to it.
  3. He’s a medium-rich man’s Sparrow
  4. Beggars can’t be choosers, and I’d happily take more of this quality non power forward
  5. Tell us how you REALLY feel Ghosty
  6. I’d say the umpires are conscious of making it out of the suburb alive
  7. The point of me beginning this thread was to highlight the inappropriateness of Collingwood supporters ( AND commentators) taking umbrage at anyone vilifying one of their own with booing, yet rapturously cheering on Maynard after Dees’ supporters have ‘the audacity’ to boo him for nearly killing Angus.
  8. Not sure if it’s been mentioned previously here but I recall Yze senior from his earliest playing days, and junior Oooooz is equally as smooth and accurate kick as his father , who was regarded as elite in these skills, albeit a left footer .
  9. Forgive my ignorance but has there actually been irrefutable evidence that it was Trac and not his family who aired the grievances against the club? Like most here I devour any news news about the club whenever I can find it, but perhaps it’s my age, and failing memory, but I do NOT recall ANY words spoken by Trac where he’s disparaged the club at all. I stand to be corrected
  10. Wise decision. Apart from anything else, he’s very affable and eloquent, and an obvious forward line coach moving forward
  11. I don’t know if you’ve got the fitness to make the repeated runs to the players requiring messages but I imagine the compassionate and consolatory pats on the bums would appeal to you Ghosty.
  12. May - run his course van Rooyen - failed to progress Salem - reliable but slow McVee - rarely displayed advancement Petracca - definitely lost edge Windsor - cruelled by injuries Viney - grunt without skills Lever - probably lost passion Spargo - another without luck Turner - excellent first half Gawn - our only elite Tholstrup - a serious underperformer Oliver - rediscovered form late Billings - only Casey standard Langdon - often seemed distracted Laurie - no coach’s favourite Bowey - came of age Melksham - some impressive performances Langford - impressive and consistent Lindsay - needs major preseason Jefferson - rarely excited supporters Howes - Casey form unreplicated Rivers - occasionally displayed promise McDonald - deserves another year Adam’s - didn’t seal opportunities Hore - injuries stymied progression Sharp - rarely justified selection Fritsch - excellent second half Sparrow - continued just plodding Fullerton - never nailed opportunities Petty - out of position Pickett - outstanding first half Chandler - very inauspicious year Johnson - rough but tried Henderson - very few tricks Culley - showed some promise
  13. Ironically I felt it was more praiseworthy and realistic in the aftermath that we actually only lost by a goal than if we’d won
  14. And in the space of one game the mood has turned. Clarry to stay and Trac to depart
  15. Gawn - sealed all Australian May - say goodbye Steven Petracca - disappointed in clutch Oliver - finally regained form Salem - season best game Langford - continued to impress Bowey - classy and important Fritsch - disappeared when needed Viney - regularly butchered disposals Rivers - stepped up Impressively Pickett - better second half Turner - rarely noticed again Chandler - little to enthuse Melksham - had some moments van Rooyen - often looked amateurish McVee - seldom looked interested McDonald - strong and reliable Howes - poor under pressure Sparrow - fumbled vital chances Petty - played little part Culley - will be better Langdon - had limited involvement Sharp - had no impact
  16. McGovern is possibly the worst ‘big credentialled’ footballer I’ve EVER seen
  17. Finally something positive
  18. The AFL has prepared the umpires to ensure a lopsided free kicks tally. It’s inconceivable that they’d allow Collingwood not to be major players in the finals
  19. This perfectly reflects the huge gap between the two levels .
