  1. Is your logic akin to Buckley’s recommendation of Neeld prior to us appointing him?
  2. Jones - steady and reliable Viney - important until injured Fritsch - outstanding before turnover Salem - prolific and effective Oliver - a dynamic game Harmes - many impressive moments Gawn - strong work ethic J. Wagner - a nothing game Lever - loose and unconvincing C.Wagner - rarely stood out Brayshaw - excellent tagging game Hibberd - disposal was haphazard Lewis - season best game Neal-Bullen - continued to underwhelm May - held his own Petracca - some isolated involvement Jetta - crucial costly errors Hunt - was rarely involved Petty - promising but wayward Frost - never died wondering Preuss - little to commend Lockhart - enjoyed the scenery
  3. Viney - prolific but wasteful Jones - age was obvious Jetta - a slow liability May - desire not questioned Frost - an impressive game Lever - fortunately survived game Salem - season worst game Brayshaw - season worst game Gawn - should have dominated Harmes - was surprisingly loose Petracca - an impressive game Petty - we’ve found one Oliver - uncharacteristically quiet game Lewis - an irrelevant performance Fritsch - a brain fade Neal-Bullen - devoid of skills Hunt - tried but failed Preuss - didn’t take chances Hibberd - just a shadow Lockhart - time to rest Dunkley - the wrong brother Hannan - continued uninspiring season
  4. The article didn’t suggest the Dees should trade Oliver, but rather the Gold Coast should target him... there’s a big difference. If I were in charge of an horrendously underperforming side, I’d make overtures to ANY talented player also
  5. Jones - consistently found targets Viney - bullocking and courageous McDonald - outstanding until injured Fritsch - great first half Oliver - courageous and tireless Preuss - finally justified selection Harmes - important but fumbly Salem - continued impressive season Neal-Bullen - just a game Petracca - brilliant in bursts Frost - heart in mouth Hunt - took his chances Brayshaw - disappointing season continued Weideman - failed to impose Lewis - was rarely sighted Hibberd - rarely inspired confidence May - safe and composed Hannan - some rare glimpses Dunkley - deer in headlights Petty - quiet before injury Lockhart - was he playing? Hore - will be missed
  6. So far Preuss is holding his own in the centre
  7. Just wished our coach ‘all the best’ ( 3 wonder )for today, after crossing his path in East Malvern earlier this morning.
  8. All the above are even more reason for Preuss to be included whether Maxy plays or not. Preuss’s size makes him an X factor who is hard to match up on, let alone predict. The selectors must ignore the fact that Max may be dominant( if fit ) and make life difficult for Carlton by selecting 2 imposing figures. Surely Preuss is likely to be more effective and useful than any of Weideman, Smith, and T.Mac , even if it’s just by imposing the fear factor So in my view its Preuss for Smith
  9. Viney - prolific but wasteful Jones - usually found targets Salem - skillful but slow Oliver - rarely disposed well Brayshaw - continued poor year Harmes - had little impact Petracca - irrelevant second half Hannan - has exhausted welcome Fritsch - had some impact May - great first half Frost - terrible under pressure McDonald - back to rubbish Neal-Bullen - slow and embarrassing Hunt - little to commend Lockhart - some occasional glimpses Hibberd - was rarely sighted Petty - far from convincing Baker - keep it simple Gawn - was comprehensively beaten Hore - loose and disappointing Weideman - played amateur football Smith - tried but failed
  10. Jones- better ball use Viney - grunt and leadership Hore - endeavour was impressive Frost - career best game Wagner - far from convincing May - confident and classy Salem - steady and effective Baker - showed some skill Neal-Bullen - tried but fumbly Oliver - classy but erratic Brayshaw - had limited impact Gawn - surprisingly didn’t dominate Weideman - some rare cameos McDonald - finally earned wages Petracca - a steady game Lockhart - energy and skill Harmes - met his match Smith - took his chances Fritsch - steady and impressive Petty - fortunately rarely required Hunt - had little involvement Hannan - had no impact
  11. Jones - a broken man Viney - devoid of ideas Gawn - our only champion Oliver - prolific without benefitting Brayshaw - couldn’t hurt opposition Hore - tried but loose May - a welcome addition Lever - glad he survived Fritsch - lost in battle Salem - probably suffering concussion Frost - a major loss Hibberd - past his best Baker - stunned by headlights Harmes - gave his all Petracca - seemingly without purpose Hannan - had little involvement Weideman - hardly gave yelp Spargo - couldn’t justify selection Garlett - an embarrassing performance Hunt - tried but failed T. McDonald - played without heart Wagner - little to commend
  12. Hogan for Spargo and we’d have our strongest team ON PAPER in the last 20 years. We’re a strong chance on Monday
  13. 6- Gawn ( dominated as expected) 5 - Oliver ( outstanding first half) 4 - Jones ( not as clean as normal but regularly got the hard balls) 3 - Fritsch ( getting closer to last year’s superlative form) 2 - Frost ( I no longer hold my breath when he has the ball) 1 - Viney ( trying to do the impossible too often but he at least he persists)
  14. Jones - always looked likely Viney - determination belied value Gawn - dominated without completion Stretch - made little impression O. McDonald - embarrassing and costly T. McDonald - not on field Frost - valuable and safe Smith - had some value Hibberd - unfit and unsure Baker - calm and composed Hunt - didn’t take chances Oliver - lost his way Brayshaw - only a shadow Harmes - failed to impose Spargo - shaking my head Weideman - unsighted before miss Petracca - enigmatic and disappointing Kennedy-Harris - an impressive return Fritsch - season’s best game Garlett - just a cameo Wagner - was rarely noticed Hannan - will be better
  15. Jones - failed to inspire Viney - little to excite Gawn - our only winner Harmes - couldn’t impose himself J. Wagner - tried but lacking Petracca - irrelevant 3 quarters Stretch - selection defies logic Brayshaw - devoid of confidence Hore - played with purpose Baker - showed promise again Smith - had no impact Fritsch - floated through game Oliver - was comprehensively beaten Spargo - couldn’t justify selection T. McDonald - had no presence C.Wagner - played without purpose Lockhart - out of depth Frost - all at sea Hunt - a disappearing act O. McDonald - making up numbers Petty - out of depth
  16. Easy to say after the event that the game was lost at the selection table
  17. For the record I didn’t use the words ‘not our worst’ to describe O.Mac’s game.. please get your facts right
  18. 6 - Gawn ( tireless and dominant all game ) 5 - Hunt ( emerging as a forward weapon ) 4 - Harmes ( was consistently at the coal face with grunt and vigour) 3 - Frost ( tackle of the year ) 2 - Oliver ( for weight of possessions rather than effectiveness) 1 - Hore ( we’ve found one )
  19. Jones - slowing but effective Viney - little spacial awareness Gawn - an outstanding game Oliver - few clean disposals Harmes - great first half Hunt - some impressive cameos Garlett - goals but wasteful Petracca - hugely wasteful performance Salem - rarely disposed effectively Stretch - momentum killer again Brayshaw - lost on flank T.McDonald - ten minute game Frost - confident but costly Hore - endeavour and composure O.McDonald - a serviceable game Wagner - jittery with ball Smith - little to enthuse Lockhart - was rarely sighted Neal-Bullen - average before injury Petty - was not disgraced Fritsch - devoid of awareness Baker - overawed but promising
  20. Jones - dynamic all game Viney - take first options Oliver - dominant and tireless Harmes - incredible first quarter Melksham - dangerous but curtailed Salem - was all class Lockhart - clever but limited Gawn - dominant when required Petracca - always looked likely Hore - season saving goal Frost - played with purpose Brayshaw - mistake ridden performance Stretch - continued slowing momentum Lewis - won’t be missed Fritsch - disappeared too often T. McDonald - provided a target Hunt - just some cameos Wagner - didn’t imbue confidence Garlett - regularly fumbled ball Keilty - had little influence Hibberd - great before injury O.McDonald - devoid of confidence
