  1. Harry Sharp covers him? (at least at Charlie's recent levels of performance relative to the 'set of woods' the Club values him for?)
  2. After the self-induced anaesthesia of yesterday, now the gathering pace of the reveal and assessment of new coach options has me feeling like a kid on Christmas eve. I'm antsy for morning to come!
  3. Also - I'm not sure anyone else has said this - take note of his contrary, positive view of Casey. I sometimes think there's a bit of confirmation bias associated with the current arrangements.
  4. Any opinions, overt or otherwise?
  5. Is this intended for him to see, @Demonland? You have my vote.
  6. Where have you gone, @Bitter but optimistic? Your moniker, so apposite to this day of heightened mixed emotions.
  7. ...and today was the last straw?
  8. We'll need someone filly focused on going for geld.
  9. After trawling diligently through the now four applicable threads? Anaesthetised.
  10. Yep, why not? The cupboard was thinning out anyway. I suspect this one - surely true - is a keeper, too.
  11. With one or two unfortunate possible exceptions, @Demonland, can the contents of this thread be gift-wrapped and find their way to Simon?
  12. Anything on the players' socials?
  13. I imagine it's automatic, based on games? He qualifies in spades there. I like it that he feels he'll always be a Melbourne person and retain his love for same.
  14. This is the thread I want to be in. Thank you, Simon.
  15. The still-top article on the Club's website Ah, the irony: not so for Simon's 10th season.
  16. Freudian, QD?
  17. The school of thought that says the Board had someone in mind in exiting Goodwin now: what expertise, knowledge, or outside advice can a Board have, collectively or individually, that this could be anything other than 'fingers crossed', either as to the availability or to the future success of that someone. Not speculating it can't. It's a serious question.
  18. Is it still the case that clubs need points to secure F/S (and NGA?) draftees if other clubs select them? In which case, how can clubs get all - indeed, even more than one - of their F/S (and NGA?) prospects?
  19. Charlie won't be getting at least the next AFL game.
  20. While I can't find the audio-visual of the 'reporting', which would have context and tone to it and might amplify Rose's behaviour, the written reporting of the reporting, so to speak, seems to be a little more in the middle as to who deserved to be embarrassed, between Rose or Ginnivan. The starting point - whether the defeated should be 'birding', and bringing sanction and some blow-back to his club - seems a fair question? 'You're embarrassing' as the immediate response, as opposed to subsequently, say, in response to a hounding, is also problematic (so, too, Ginnivan's apparent socials follow-up re sanction: 'Best coin spent!') Don't know why I'm entangling myself in this one. Feedback might cure me! 😄
  21. Bringing together literary openings allusions, (in)famous horribleness, and a possible glimpse into the post-season... "It was a dark and stormy night..."
  22. Jim's team, too, BDA. Can you tell us more? A bit of the 'Collingwoods' or 'Geelongs' for you, perhaps?
  23. But, praccies over and Round 1 a fortnight away, there's Goldy to barrack for as her Dubliners take on Meath in the 2025 All-Ireland final, under way at 1.15am our time.
