So long as he doesn’t come on big money or cost anything much in picks, don’t see why not. At minimum he ads to our depth, might even find a spot, would be an upgrade on the Wagners or Anb who are still on our list and play senior games

How many players still have a question mark at 26 years of age and turn it round. I think what we saw this year is as good as it gets for him.
-
Tigers got pick after there 2nd which is as high as you can go without been a first round comp, gws get end of 2nd round which is lowest 2nd round comp you can get. Ladder position makes them similar picks in the end but the contacts is suspect would be significantly different, I’m guessing 3 years and high 300 - low 400 for Tomlinson based on that

Elliot signed a 1 year deal last year in the middle of his injury issues, he would be on a very reduced wage atm, I would be surprised if Melbourne has offered him anything exceptional it’s mainly just the security of time my guess would be something in the 400-500 range dependant on certain mile stones being reached

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2019/10/02/crow-and-lion-attracting-interest-from-sydney/ Reports Lewis Taylor is on the move, hopefully the dees are making enquires as well, he would be a handy pickup especially if Elliot decides not to leave pies for dees, wouldn’t cost much either I would think.

There is so much throw it on the boot and get it fwd 50 meters at under 18 level, none of it tells us who can hit someone with a bullet kick at pace in traffic, something we sorely lack, from what I’ve seen and read Kemp is the best bet but he did an acl, given no one at Melbourne expected to have a pick 3 I wouldn’t be against a gamble on him.

Feels like ground hog day here replace Frosts name with Watts, Silvia, Travis Johnstone or woewodin and it’s the same discussion, other than Stef Martin and Howe I can’t think of a single player in the last 20 years I regret losing, and I don’t think we had a choice with the last 2

Other than talk from the club after we drafted him, what has he ever shown at AFL level to show he is elite, he has now played near 100 games and will be 24 at the start of next season and we are still waiting for that break out game. Odds are he won’t reach the hights we were all hoping for. Brayshaw on the other hand is the bigger mystery, he was elite in the 2nd half of last year matching it with the best of them, if he can find that level again he could be talked about in the same breath as Dangerfield who isn’t a good kick either but makes the most of all his other attributes

Feel like Petracca will our jack ziebell, he doesn’t have the pace or evasiveness to be a Martin, Danger, Ablett or Judd type

So who do you suggest going after instead as doing nothing is going backwards, he will be a best 22 won’t cost picks and would command no more than a modest contract. If it’s a matter of him or frost I’d take him, he offers more utility round the ground and if our backline is fit frost wouldn’t be in the 22 imo as it is rare you need a permanent 3rd tall in the backline these days. A best 22 over a backup is the no brainer on that case

Feels like they will use him in a similar role to Pederson who we have sorely missed since his retirement
-
So the fact pies only had 20 inside 50’s to half time had nothing to do with that, almost our whole list must be past there used by your logic. He has been one of these better players in the 2nd half of the year and would be a major asset in our fwd line over the likes of spargo or anb or anyone else you could mention
-
That’s just talk to get his price up
-
Frost is a liability, as long as he is in best 22 we aren't going anywhere. Not to say he isn't in our best 22 however, just that if he is we wont be challenging for a flag.
-
I remember watching him play a great game against us up in Canberra 2 years back, based on that I think he would be a great pickup, If it means one or both of the Wagners isn't playing it massive positive for to me
-
The group playing for most of this year is effectively the same group that got top 4 last year. Clearly there are other factors at play, like the horrible off season and harder draw, plus other teams chasing us not the other way round. Our core team is still extremely inexperienced both in age and games we just need more time.

I felt Jetta was on the decline even prior to his injury this year, I would be surprised if we went on after next year, we desperately need a small defender and a small fwd of quality
-
You release we had 6 years of year on year improvement until this year, a league record. It was inevitable we would take a step back
-
Jetta looks so far off atm, for a player who has been such a rock down back over the last 4 years or so it is disappointing. He looks slow and as such either giving away the free or just burned for pace, we basically playing a man down as a result. I know he isn't the only one down on form but we looked much better down back when he didn't play last week
-
Don't agree with Shultz on all points but we do agree on the main one, Spargo is not quick people seem to always equate small with fast. he isn't slow just average
-
Spargo offered nothing and was a late in for Lockhart anyway so that is the first charge I've been a supporter of Oscar for a long time thinking he just needed time, but last night he was diabolical, a witches hat would have been more effective. So for mine any one is an upgrade right now, Petty is the next KPD off the rack give him a few weeks till May is fit as he certainly can't be worse
-
I hope everyone that said Jones was done, think about this next time
-
Can we just celebrate the small victories we are no longer last on the ladder
-
The bigger story is how Melbourne was not found guilty of tanking and simply bringing the game into disrepute given the evidence at hand which the AFL had the whole time. Clearly there was and are bigger things at play. If they lied on this you can just imagine what went on with the Essendon drugs saga
