Not to fussed, won’t ever be more than a roll player. I would rather get more games into our younger players and see what they have. Every chance we already have someone who will surpass him that just needs the opportunity

I think Bedfords strengths show through more at afl level than Chandler, albeit both on a small sample size

If freo are only willing to offer there 1st this year and next would we be willing to walk away and send him into the draft, 13 this year and next would be equivalent in points to pick 3. Is that enough assuming they even offer that, any less and I’d want to make a point

Has Daniel Turner already been upgraded off the rookie list? If not I suspect he would also be a candidate

Every preseason when I see Bedford and think this year will be his year, he stands out so much more than Anb or Spargo to me but alas the coaching group don’t seem to see it that way. I suspect he will either rot away in the VFL never getting a proper run or he will leave and we will roo that we didn’t give him that run. He went at more than a goal a game this year 9 goals from 8 games many starting as sub, he kicked 2 goals in 3 of those games, by comparison ANB kicked the same number of goals 9 over his 23 games as a starting player or Spargo 10 from 24 games as a starting player. I think given the same opportunity bedford would have easily kicked 30+ goals over a season.

If that’s our fwd line at next year we won’t win many games no way would we play 3 new kids and be contending for a flag, if Bedford and JVR can’t get in this year there is no way 2 rookies are pushing out Anb and Spargo and Brown and Melksham.

Still 2 years under contract left and 2 years to get it right if you want to look at it that way.

Only if he wants to walk away from 700k he is owned for next year with no guarantee he would get a good deal following a year out. Might have to sell that nice house if he follows that path

Doesn’t Gunstan play the same role as Fritsch, not really a true key fwd

Have to wonder what we can afford to offer Kozzie vs what other clubs will throw at him, if we bring in Grundy now even with pies paying a chunk I wouldn’t think we could afford to pay kozzie more than 500, I’d expect some clubs to offer near a mill (see Rankine this year) even without any go home factor that would be hard to ignore.

Think clubs and supporters need to be more mature about trades, if he is a net positive still then you hold him to the contract, for the clubs part maybe they should also be more transparent at what is happening so there isn’t this speculation, if they know he is gone say so and we can just enjoy what time he has left

He might go but it won’t be this year so better get another flag in 2023

Just the SA media nothing of note yet, they would have to offer some insane overs given he still has a year left and we would want him for next year even if we knew he was gone post 2023

Difference between this year and last year is fitness, we look good in first half's but have consistently faded, if we could play out games we would still be in finals. Tmac is a huge out not because he is a great player but the role he plays and the structure he brings. Teams have now also had 2 years to adjust to our game style and work on counters. No use pinning for Curnow Elliot and McKay you have to work with what you have and maybe try and find a roughie from another team. We didn’t even try Vanrooyen all year or bring Petty fwd when we had coverage in Tomlinson down back. Dont get beaten by what you know I always say, but safe to say Goodwin hasn’t learned that lesson yet

Hopefully this forces Goodwin to face some realities, His refusal to play a 2nd tall once Tmac was injured and Weid didn’t work out was just stupid. Our fitness is a major issue the fact we couldn’t run out games most of the year is a complete 180 on last year, Selwyn Griffith clearly not upto filling Burgess shoes some one new need to be brought in. Our entires fwd are to predictable and slow. Percentage play they may be but when everyone know where it’s going it’s to easy to counter by the good sides. One of our defensive smalls fwds need to make way for a more attacking player like Bedford or the like. Not worried about loosing Jackson now, I don’t think he cuts it as a fwd and we have Gawn for now in the ruck where he belongs. Use the money to get a genuine tall fwd.

So when does the our mid season loading kick in

With Melbourne been the only party in the race hard to think pies will have any barging power particularly if him going is contingent on them bringing other players in. They might be stuck between a ruck and a hard place

Now we are in finals we need to be playing with making the grand final in mind by resting players and making changes with that in mind, we should be aiming to win the lot even at the risk of going out in straight sets. No point winning this week if it all but guaranteed we lose to cat because trac is on one leg and we still have a non functioning fwd line. I’m not here to celebrate top 4 finishes and say well done
