  1. Still doesn’t change the fact that unless you are replacing him with another asset then its all for nothing unless you only care about playing a million under the cap next year to make the balance sheet look better. As to discontent unless we have players saying it’s Oliver or me and those players are higher on the totem poll than Oliver then it makes even less sense To whit do you trade in a Ferrari for a new VW golf because it broke down and is a deprecating asset
  2. Well it’s more what he’s worth to us a late first round is fairly useless to us so unless we simply what him out which I think is a weak move by the club if so and will be one we regret.
  3. With the way the media report particularly around trade period it’s all very loose and fast you can’t really believe anything, but just like a broken clock they will be right every now and again, whether that’s through anything other than dumb luck is debatable
  4. If he might help fix the fwd line I’m all for it, we won’t be going far if we stick with the same lineup

Anb out Caleb in, his best was quite good not sure what’s happened

We already quite slow in the middle we don’t need another one plus he can’t kick over a jam tin
  7. I think her immediately stepping aside would at least show some accountability for what has gone on this last 18 months and would signal to Petracca and others things are been taken seriously
  8. Hopefully Jeff whites son nominates dees but gotta think this last few week might sway him to goto Gold Coast
  9. Think dees should focus on getting up the draft to fast track any rebuild, going to be to hard to get any player of quality with everything going on
  10. Ah well it’s was fun while it lasted maybe we can merge with North Melbourne
  11. If the story about him forcing a trade via the afl grievance tribunal is true we will almost certainly get screwed, what team will offer market if he can just break his contract and walk.
  12. I think the point is no one will be winning if all the dirty laundry is made public and head will roll regardless
  13. Does all this feel quite similar to what wc went through when Judd left them, I’m sure at the time it felt like the end of the world but I think looking back they came out ahead, if we play this smart there is no reason we can’t come out of this similarly, first off if things are beyond repair I’d be saying we will trade but we will pick to who, I’d be probably looking at north and doing a deal for larkey and there first pick, I think that could work for both clubs
  14. I’d take just the picks, I think lynch is looking for one last bonus to whoever would bite
  15. You basically just named McKay but with his kicking that’s a dead end we will have a 60 goal fwd and never make finals
  16. Investing one of the rumoured reasons is a lack of training facilities, I find it amazing we don’t loose more players for that reason. We still have 0 movement on that front as well just goes in the to hard basket
  17. Happy to stand corrected, must have missed him.
  18. Even if he is going they have got to play the part and say he’s not to get maximum value in any trade, I noticed he wasn’t at the game on Friday whilst I saw nearly every other player who wasn’t playing, as a few others have said above I’d have more concern over tracs playing future period and while I would love him in the red and blue next year it might also be for the best if he isn’t.
  19. Problem with any trade for Oliver is his contract is so large relative to his output this year and off-field issues, realistically if we were to trade him we would end up paying a large chunk of this contract and only be getting a marginal pick back I’d guess late first round. Unless we need to get his contract off the books for salary cab reasons like pies with Grundy and Treloar it doesn’t makes sense to trade Oliver unless we think he had no future as an afl player and just want to get out while we can at any cost
  20. Funny on Monday several shows and news papers went with the narrative Jack was gone, then low and behold less than 24 hours later he signed to stay for an additional 3 years and all I have seen since are crickets from the same media. No apology, no I was wrong they won’t even acknowledge it happened. Shows how reliable there inside knowledge is if they didn’t even know a 3 year extension was imminent
  21. Hope it’s not that case but if dees continue the downward trend over the next few seasons will it still look wise to have a then 33 yo still on the list for a further 2 years when we should be getting games in kids, what’s wrong with taking things one year at a time for a player of his age
  22. Love Viney but is this the right move, he would be 35 by the end of that contact, not many make it that long let alone smallish inside mids.
  23. At the end of day trac is a professional first and foremost and regardless of what has gone on he and the club will work to fix whatever his grievances are. The reality is he’s on a deal that sees him to the effective end of his career and is been paid extremely well for it. There is no scenario I can see where a trade is possible outside of getting a player of equal value back, ie Charlie Curnow for Trac, picks just won’t cut it in this case. This isn’t a case of a salary cap dump or player who is a free agent in 12 months or someone who is going to walk away from the game if they don’t get there way. I just can’t see how this won’t get worked out as the alternative is to hard
  24. After all the negative stuff this last month a win like this gives you hope for the future no matter what happens now
  25. Have we been carrying Oliver all year, we look to have so much more run without him out there
