KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
A lot can change over the course of the season it’s way to early to be worrying about this now, fact is at the end of the day he is contracted till the end of 27, freo are also upto there neck to get Chad Warner next season as well and to be fair any deal for Kozzie would be secondary to that, this will highly limit what they could offer us to entertain the trade and all thats not even accounting for what Kozzie wants. I would trust if we do a trade we will be doing so at a premium price.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
Depends what having him for 3 more years is worth, besides we could always demand a player back doesn’t have to be picks, on top of that if it’s just go home then why not wc

Trac cracked rib
Maybe I’m just paying more attention this year but, from what I’ve seen he still seems to be lacking cardio and just doesn’t have the same spring in his step
-
Trac cracked rib
Not good particularly when he was already behind the 8 ball fitness wise, was hard to see him been 100% this year before this, even more so now

Training Ground?
My Biggest take away from this is the news we still haven’t finished putting together a business case to request funding from the government for the project. The whole things sounds fairly tenuous to me and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ultimately doesn’t go ahead given how slowly it’s gone so far, plus given the state of the budget in Victoria these days and the fact they are going to have to cut back projects I don’t foresee the funds been available.

Farewell Judd McVee
Always a danger taking anyone from wa particularly with wc down the bottom they can afford to make offers we can’t hope to match, the only upside is we will get some good compensation back if it comes to pass. I’d hope he stays as he could be anything and I hate to see that happen somewhere else, reminds me of what happened with Scott Thompson back in the day.

The Riak Andrew Thread
Dunno y we wouldn’t take him the cost was minimal and we have the list spots, we all seen what he brother can do why make the same mistake twice

Decline in the number of Indigenous players in the AFL
Good points but that just tells me other groups of people are underrepresented due to lack of pathways and or engagement, where is the outreach to people of Asian backgrounds like Indians and Chinese they both makeup a higher percentage of the population and yet are basically absent from the afl landscape. I think the relative drop off in aboriginal players can also be put down to the footy department caps which has effected all potential players form all non traditional pathways, clubs just don’t have the resources to put into them anymore

Decline in the number of Indigenous players in the AFL
As a percentage of the population indigenous players are over represented at afl level, if this shows anything it’s that it’s now returning to the expected level after years of exceeding expectations. Just did the math and given the approximate 800 afl players and 3.8 percent of people in Australia with indigenous heritage there should only be approximately 30 afl players, given the approximate 80 players drafted each year that’d only 3 players a year

THE 2024 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT - DAY ONE
I think it’s more the case Freo were going to trade for the pick and take berry so port had to out bid them
-
THE 2024 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT - DAY ONE
Wtf north traded there future first for pick 27 total insanity, by that logic we would have got it for one of the 2nd round picks we gave Essendon
-
2024 Phantom Drafts
Even if cal is wrong we still get whoever if left of Draper and smith so no bad outcome
-
2024 Phantom Drafts
Think Langford fits better with goodies contest defence way of thinking so expect we take him, FOS would by accounts be a point of difference in the mid something we lack, don’t think either will be a bad choice. Our next pick is more interesting would we go with next best like a Smilie if they were still available or go with a need like kpp

The AFL 2025 Fixture
Crazy we get only 12 games at the g next year and blues who split there games between docklands and mcg get 11, on top of the we travel intestate 7 times and Geelong once. 4 more than some other Victorian sides
-
The AFL 2025 Fixture
Eagles at marvel late in the season hard to see 20k showing up for that, might be better if fan boycott so the afl stops with the stupidity

Nathan Jones joins MFC as an Assistant Coach
It was our premiership season hardly think it was the time to be gifting games. End of day he wasn’t in the best 22 there should be no grudges there

Time to go Goody?
With the current makeup of the team dees gotta be contending, if we aren’t in teams round the top 4 I think goody is in trouble, it’s going to be tough with a number of teams expected to improve like freo, hawks pies and blues and not many of the top sides expected to drop off. If Dees aren’t playing at there absolute best it’s hard to see us even making the 8.

2024 Phantom Drafts
When is the last time a slider proved everyone wrong feel like it’s been a minute.
-
2024 Phantom Drafts
Think we get Smillie with one of our picks, was considered the pick 1 before the year but has slid back a bit, at 194cm could be the next Cripps or Bont

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Other than running the 2km in a record time what are his other attributes, does he have a big kick or smart he user of the ball or does he tackle and harass like a mad man

NON-MFC: Trade Talk
True but they could just draft them no need to pay over that much, reminds me of when Malthouse went to Carlton and got daisy over
-
NON-MFC: Trade Talk
Gotta be one of the worst trades I can recall, dees could have split pick 5 for that and given that to blues and then done the same trade, efficiency getting 3 for 5 for all the sense this trade makes

Oliver Trade Rumours
Oliver is on 1.3 mill a year for the rest of his contract, even 75% is still over a mill a year and no one can afford that for a non top line player, plus we would still want good picks back. We already have his contract baked into our cap so not an issue for us. At this point unless Oliver gets back to his form form line prior to 2023 no team will take him on his contract alone unless we paid at least half, let alone give any decent picks back in which case why bother trading. If Oliver truly wants out his only chance is to get his best form back then someone will take him at his full contract and give us picks we want back.
