  1. The penalty shouldn't be determined by the injury, even the ugliest of sling tackles can result in no injury and therefor no penalty...
  2. One of the many reasons we beat Geelong was because we exposed their weeknesses..firstly we need to neutralize naitnui and his ruck/hit out dominance so our mids can be competitive if not beat the West Coasts mids and we need to expose their backline.. a forward line of Dawes, Hogan, Gawn/Spencer and smalls Garlett and ANB/JKH should be a handfull. We need to play a loose man in the backline and try not to let them get many easy fast entries inside 50, so the ball is kicked in long and high where possibly Howe can get a free run at it. Howe to the backline.
  3. Picket...I agree mate, the combination of Gawn and Spencer playing together means that our midfield will at least be competitive and they might be able to work down Natinui and Sinclair. If we can compete in the middle, then Dawes, Hogan, Garlett will cause the eagles some probs
  4. "Duck's" point was that Gibbs was tackling his opponent which is a massive part of the game compared to some of the players on the weekend who were given fines only for striking which clearly isn't a part of the game...look at Viney's tackle on Ablett in round 1..arm pinned ..could of easily been Abletts head hitting the ground instead of his shoulder..I dont like the rule...there are so many small variables in a tackle that determine where the head falls and when....the main reason a sling tackle causes injury is because the arms are pinned and the player cannot protecy themselves..but Gibbs was holding the ball into Gray so it shouldnt be seen as the typical sling tackle.... ..bad decision
  5. I know it has been said to death..but Hogan makes Boyd look so 1 dimensional.
  6. Has anyone been rubbed out for a sling tackle since Trengove...cant think of any of the top of my head..
  7. Viney has had the aggression since day 1, but he has cleaned up the rest of his game, his disposal still has a bit to improve on but it has improved so much since his first season. And his ability to tag Ablett, Steven and Selwood and to beat them convincingly shows how much his defensive game has improved which has a lot to do with his fitness and competitiveness... He could be a star of the competition just needs to sharpen up his disposal ...
  8. Difference between the two was that trengove had hold of one Dangerfields arms and slung him more...Gibbs was actually holding the ball into Gray ...Gibbs should get off that
  9. Petracca plays half forward/mid...Howe might be competing for a spot with him....
  10. He showed a bit and we love him because he is a f/s ..but i think he needs another pre season.
  11. His hardness is natural..that loss didnt hurt as much because guys like Viney,Hogan and Toumpas had such great games.
  12. Great game by Toumpas loved watching him put his head over it..He had a massive part to play in Jack Vineys goal... Toumpas was easily in our best ..looked like that number 2 draft pick...finally there is hope!!!!
  13. mate..do you seriously think we have a chance of winning with Stretch,ANB, Harmes? They will learn a serious lesson down at SS, not a good idea. We need to bring in some more experienced players.
  14. I think we need to stop debuting players for now. Stretch and ANB looked underdone on the weekend. Riley doesn't look much better than Mckenzie to me. Out pedo.stretch.ANB.Grimes In. JKH.Dawes.Spencer.M Jones
  15. Keep it going Hogan...!! Lazy 5 goals mate. It was good to see him get a couple of goals from guys hitting him on the chest...he didn't have to work as hard as other weeks.
  16. This question is to the people who actually know a fair bit about the next crop of draftees...who is the ready made mid roughly 187/188cm and 88/89/90 kg. Who loves the contested ball...tackles hard and accumulates big disposal numbers consistently, and will be available with draft pick number 5..??
  17. Hoping Viney can do a job on Steven..if we play direct footy and use the corridor we should win today...
  18. Expecting a big game from Hogan today. He was tied down well last week by Frost, but you can't keep a superstar down for long. All the best to Dunny in his 150th and to ANB on debut.
  19. So when we trade him we might get pick 55 in return compared to his value at the start of the year which was 56...
  20. Turn it up. It was good to see him contributing . Nothing more. Lets see him get in our best before we start pumping him up like you just have.
