It's just confidence, Jesse has struggled in a couple of games to hold some marks (although he makes up for it in other ways) Dawes just needs to know he has to work harder if he wants to play alongside Jesse, I reckon he will pull his finger out at some point.

Dawes will be so valuable for us when he finds some form, it hasn't been easy for him because our midfield has struggled to get the ball down to him...

I hear what you're saying about the "anxious moments" but with confidence he will hopefully get used to dealing with it, tho stow set shots for goal were so important and his running and skills were top notch. Let's see how he backs it up next week..

Fair enough...I would love to see how many km's Hogan covered compared to McCarthy..I didn't see the GWS game but I think Hogan would of been way in front and how many contests Hogan was involved in bringing the ball to ground, I would say of the top of my head his direct opponent beat him a maximum of 2 times, it's a shame that these sort of things aren't considered when nominating a player....

Does anyone know where I can find statistics on distance travelled during the game against WB for Hogan, would love to compare that to McCarthy...

Tyson and Viney will be big ins for us both had good games last year against Port in Alice Springs....Bail and M Jones both played well up there last year in the heat.

No coincidence, I think it has more to do with how our ruckman plays which enables the midfield to be able to compete.

The most important thing for the team today was the work of Spencer, the ability of him to neutralise the ruck contest and bring the ball to his feet made it an even contest in the middle and it had a massive affect on our midfield in they way we structured, our midfield is better when we keep the ball tight, as soon as we get a ruckman who can tap the ball away from the congestion we get exposed, Brent Moloney would of had a field day today just like he used to with Jamar in 2010.. Couldn't split Vandenberg and Hogan for BOG, with Vince close behind because of his job on Bontempelli!! Other performances that deserve recognition cam fom Spencer, Brayshaw, FITZPATRICK, Pedersen, N Jones, Toumpas and Grimes.

One wish for today, that when we get the ball we move it on quickly and are not afraid to use the corridor.... Another is that we achieve 45 inside 50's for the day and kick the ball in Hogans direction 30 of those times.

Yes, but he is a long long long way off making his debut, let alone actually having an impact at AFL level......I would prefer our rookies to be playing VFL so he competes with better defenders, then we can further judge how good he is or is going to be.

No one criticised him last week, more so the people raving about him dominating the development league, I'm astonished that a player on an AFL list, apart from Maia Westrupp, is even playing in that league...seriously!

Basically we need B+ and A grade midfielders and a B grade ruckman will do.... There is no need at all for us to be getting forwards and defenders... We need to be like Brisbane this year getting Beams.... If Dangerfield was interested we could offer our picks 3,21 and Toumpas for Dangerfield and a third round pick. Or If Shiel was interested picks 3,21 and Watts for Shiel and a third round pick...

True....it's the development league, the thirds..can he get a game in the VFL now, where he will be competing against some better defenders.....

Hard game to tip and anything could happen on the day, but looking at how many new faces we have out there compared to round 1, I would say bulldogs by 40+
