As much as I hate Hawthorn, I don't mind Roughie. Hope the poor bloke is able to come back and be his best. Going to be a long lay-off.

Collingwood fans will deny they love Dick all season long, but all Collingwood fans seem to crave a bit of Dick for the Queens Birthday Clash. Seriously, how does this below average player find a way to carve us up every time he plays us????

With Martin developing into the super utility and Gawn getting games, do you think it is curtains for Jake Spencer?

I think we narrowly miss finals this year. We dropped games we should have won, and lost games we should have lost. I think 8th would be fantastic, but the draw certainly suggest we will miss the 8. If a few of those Etihad games were at the MCG you would certainly chalk a few of those games down as wins. An upset of the Pies would go a long way in keeping our finals hopes alive.

I am fine as long as you keep the racist stuff out. There is no need for racism in sports. Swearing you can live with in moderation(the odd F-Bomb is fine), racists taunts need to be stamped out of crowd behavior.

Well, AFL.com says he got a week. No Swan or Daisy for the QB Clash.....interesting.

If Bartram is fit we need him in the team. Evans/Nicho/Strauss will have to draw straws you would think. All did enough to retain their spot. There is something about that Nicho that I want to see more of. Strauss the unlucky party?

Nev wasn't in our best 22 at the start of the season. Looking at the list in its current state, you would have to say Nev has overtaken a handful of players including Bate, Wonna, Petterd, Bennell and Dunn. Nev still has a stack of hard work to do, but he is constantly improving and his approach to the game is contagious. Nev is a nice player to have on our list.

Scully is no doubt the next Judd of the AFL. If he can learn from Judds mistakes (playing hurt and aggravating injury) then he might very well even be better than Judd. Chris Judd and Ablett are still two of the most premier players of the AFL, but you would struggle to argue that Scully will not be mentioned in the same breath in 24 months time. Trenners and Gyz also showed their class. If they can stay together at the oen club, they might go down in history as the best draft combination ever. The 09 draft landed us Sculls, Trenners, Gyz, Tappy, Gawn. Could be talked about for a very long time.

The Ruck rule changed and there was a need for a hybrid Ruck/Forward based on the Leigh Brown experiment. While the rest of the comp go looking for this mythical beast, we have unearthed the first hybrid Ruck/Midfield/Backman/Forward. Martin is bloody everywhere, and he is running down midfielders, winning contested possession in the guts and floating back to spoil. Steph Martin is now easily in our best 22.

Colin Sylvia is made from tough stock. He will play QB no doubt about it.

Nicho and Evans have added a touch of pace to the outfit. Nicho is a tad cleaner than Evans, but Evans is more of an in and under player than Nicho. Both have been selected and added something. I looked at our team on paper and thought we might be too green to beat the bombers, but Evans,Nicho, Gawn and Strauss played like they had done it 100 times before. The Rookie list has been good for this club.

Morton seemed to gain some confidence, and he used it to take the game on. Bennell was much cleaner than usual and was damaging due to his effectiveness of disposing the football cleanly. I was pleased to see the reemergence of Morts, who was touted as being a 200 game player for this club. More performances like that will surely see him play 200+ games of league footy. His pace was also a surprise. One game doesn't make a season, so hoping both boys can put in a good showing against the Magpies.

Howe and Gawn should be fun to watch. Sad to see Ricky get dropped. Just can't seem to string 2 good games together.

This is an insult to the MFC. They are going to send one of their best players away for a camp because he is not required against the demons. We have been reduced to a cellar dweller again. Any respect we reclaimed has gone out the window!! I hope we roll the Dons and build some form going into the QB clash.
-
Dunn has to play, we are running out of troops! Gawn has to get a look.

I might be overly optimistic, but I think the club still has a very bright future just around the corner. We do have a good list, and I think any deadwood will be cleared off at seasons end regardless of where we finish. I didn't suffer through the 80s as much as some of you, as I was only in primary school. The passion still burns the same, and falling in love with the lovable loser that is the MFC is one of the most rewarding and horrific experiences I have ever had. Hang tough, I think there is going to be light at the end of the tunnel this time around. As for the coach? TBC

Apologies aside, this is terrible news to an already awful season. Hopefully Flash can bounce back.

Green - tried was beaten Warnock - erroneous on queue Jones - not his best Watts - becoming very important Gysberts - boy amongst men Bate - done his dash Bennell - soft and invisible Frawley - solid but erroneous Morton - lacks the passion Sylvia - probably our best McKenzie - still finding form Petterd - lost, lacked hardness Maric - missed golden opportunities Moloney - solid, but beaten Jurrah - showing concerning signs Rivers - valuable defensive contribution MacDonald - aggressive but loose Martin - had little impact Jetta - okay but beaten Newton - a vfl player Nicholson - hard to access Evans - a rookie learning

Damnnnnnnnnnnnn it is getting hot in the Kitchen. Fair bit of anger going on here. Look, the season has been one of horror and hard luck. Bailey might not be Norm Smith, but he surely is not to blame for the lack of troops he has on the field. Bailey is in the hot seat no argument, and we seem to be falling short of where we should be at as a team in 2010. I just can't help thinking that we would have rolled North/Saints/Carlton if we were not decimated with injuries.

I love stats, but have you ever heard the saying "Numbers lie and liars hide behind numbers" -
Flash is still easily in our best 22, come one guys! Sad news for us fans, because Davey on fire really adds to the viewing experience. Hopefully he can get himself right. Sure he was disappointing against the Saints, but he is still Aaron Davey and we need him.

Always nice to see your Blue Collar guys notching up a milestone. He isn't the fastest or most skilled player, but his hard work has landed him 100 games of league footy. Congrats to Joel.
