Matty Bate is a VFL Killer and we have people calling for his head. Bate chases and tries his hardest and people get frustrated. Imagine the the frustration you will feel when Fev gives up a chase after 3 steps! I wish Fev the best because he is a local boy, but the GWS is his best option if he wants a few more seasons in the Bigs.

Ricky for me is one of those "untouchable" players. He would have kicked an extra 10-15 goals this season if we could deliver the f'ing ball into the forwardline properly. Good clubman, good player. We need more players at the club that bleed for the jumper. You don't trade those blokes.

Look, I was always one to defend Sylvia when he mucked up. But I honestly felt after today that he has thrown in the white towel and is heading elsewhere for 2012. Seemed disinterested in the contest and being involved with his teammates. I wouldn't go as far as saying "good riddance" but I am at the point where I think we need to get players that put themselves before the team out of the club. I just hope we get something good for him. Sad end to what could have been a terrific MFC career.

If we win the next 3 I will say we have slightly improved, but the sad reality is we are still a joke and miles off being a competitive football team. There have been some big positives this year (Howe, Martin, Trenners), but the bad is going to outweigh the good (Scully & Sylv going, Jimma not doing so well, club issues, player and board disputes) Another season to forget demon fans.

We have to get the broom out at seasons end, and there will be some casualties. Barts give it his all but missing open goals and just tagging a player is not going to land us members. I think he may have just played himself out of a new contract. Sad because he has tried to work on his game, but it just didn't happen for him.

I think this might be the MFCs answer to putting past players names on the jumpers, as seen by a few clubs this season. Richmond had them in the sash, and Geelong did the names in the hoops. I think the dees gone with having names down the side with the names in red.

Pretty sure Geelong could pay more for him than we could. Hard to sway someone with the same job for less money.

Any idea what Greg has been doing off field these past few years? I would be keen to know what business acumen he brings to the table. Sounds like great news.
